Christmas Countdown - 2016

Merry Pines Day!
It's going to be a bit warmer today, we'll have sun and clouds with a high of 35 degrees. I just found out that two of my girls have off this weekend, so happy I don't have to worry about them driving in the snow. Just have to deal with my oldest getting to work. Hopefully it won't be too bad. I'm going to take a ride to Target today to pick up a few things. I'm also going to stop at the pet store for ice melt. My mother is stopping by later this afternoon for a visit. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores. Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight. That's about it for me!

Spaghetti & Meatballs...can we all come over HMG? Oh wait Prancer will tell us his special dinner tonight so it might be a close call. They both might be great!

We're so excited to have a basement!!!
We've never had one in the homes we've owned together. Vegas homes didn't have them.
It's kind of the opposite of what we rent right now, we don't use our basement family room there too much. We're just down there mostly because our master is there.
Our big screen is upstairs, along with the fireplace.

But at the new house, we'll have the big flatscreen down there along with the fireplace. Adi's office will be down there, as well. We'll probably do a lot of entertaining there, as it will be the largest living area.

And there's 450 sq. ft. of storage, which will come in handy.

Our master bedroom and a guest room will be upstairs.

We end up hanging out in the kitchen/breakfast bar area a lot, too =]

I notice a lot of us at MMC also love good food. Kind of fits since we love the holiday season the most which always has some of the best food.

I think you may be right!
I worked some on mine too last night. It's a pattern with a lot of front and back crosses, and has a panel of evergreen trees in the center. It's VERY thick and warm, and I'm about halfway through, so it keeps me warm as I work on it! Here's a detail from the pattern:

That's awesome! We use to spend a lot of time in our basement but since we re-modeled & added the sunroom we don't spend as much time down there, but still very nice to have. Especially when friends/family come over with kids. The kids always go down the basement! Adults do go down sometimes too!! The bar is in the basement, but now we usually end up around the island in the kitchen.

That sounds so great ... room to spread out an entertain! We don't have a lot of entertaining space. Half our basement is storage; the other half is finished, and that's where we screen 16mm films for ourselves and occasionally for friends. Total seating is four! But we have a microwave oven and a small fridge down there, so we've had some nice small parties.

I tease my coworker all the time because he puts in for PTO days when his wife is off. We joke about it but it's good he actually wants to spend time with her since some marriages it's the opposite.

Mr. worked with a guy who would take separate vacations from his wife---she'd go off to one place on her own, and he'd go someplace entirely different. Works for some people, I guess, but I couldn't imagine doing that. We enjoy so many things together!
