If you have a chance say a little prayer for my SIL. She's in the hospital. She went by squad Sunday night....but didn't tell anybody until she called my sis last night. They removed fluid from her lungs & that's about all I know!!

Especially because you pop a hole through them for the lighting and wires and not have wires running all over the display having to be discreetly covered by batting or something else.

Yep, the basement was optional to finish. It will be our large family room, we are adding a stone fireplace, utility room, full bathroom, and 3rd bedroom =]

I knew it'd hit me today losing like 1-2 hours sleep last night...I literally almost fell asleep standing up at work lol. That's just so terrible and unlike me. My eyes were closing as I was standing and I almost had to snap out of it as my body was wavering.

I think you may be right!
I worked some on mine too last night. It's a pattern with a lot of front and back crosses, and has a panel of evergreen trees in the center. It's VERY thick and warm, and I'm about halfway through, so it keeps me warm as I work on it! Here's a detail from the pattern:

Did I say Red Heart Soft? I meant Red Heart with Love. I'd say RH with Love a little softer than Bernat, but not as limp as RH Soft, which is almost TOO soft to suit me. RH with Love is a nice middle ground between RH Soft and RH Super Saver. I really like Bernat, but can't get the colors I want locally.

You might have said RH Love ~ I was thinking soft yarn at the time so it would have been very easy for me to type the wrong word. I would like a nice middle ground yarn to work with so I am going to have to check out that brand. Thank you for the info!

I did think about that, but this pattern is a "tartan plaid" where you weave strands of yarn in when you are done crocheting, so the fringes make the border. I don't think it will be possible.

I think it would be mathematically possible to crochet a smaller afghan that would add the correct amount of width to your project and then whip stitch/sew the two pieces together. You should be able to weave the strands in for your border with no problem when you are done.

Have been hearing lots about a storm for all you folks on the east coast. I was a bit confused when I looked at the radar until the weather guy explained it...and then said it was inconsistent, but not sure what he meant by that. Anyway, hope you all stay warm and safe and build many snowmen !

Work today I think, I feel like I am coming down with something thanks to a co worker and drowning it is not working, just making me run to the bathroom more often. So trying to decide if it would be better to stay home today or just suck it up and go anyway.

Our second Milestone Marker of 2016 looms just over 3 weeks ahead.
Three weeks from tomorrow, in fact.
And it's the ONE QUARTER MARK to Christmas Season 2016!
(Incredible though that may be to believe.)


Very cold yesterday with evening snow flurries. Perhaps a more serious snowfall is pending for tomorrow and Saturday. Stay tuned.
For now, we have commenced this sunny but chilly day before Weekend Eve at 30 degrees here in the capital city.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's a bit warmer today, and overcast. We're at 100% change of rain tomorrow. I don't always mind that, but the kids are going on a school trip to Atlanta, and it worries us to death for them to be on the road in bad weather. We'll just have to say a prayer and leave it to the Lord.

The stack of work on my desk keeps growing, so I better get back to it.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!! The tree's provided gorgeous scenery for my (short) drive to work this morning. They were beautiful. Snow covered & frozen!

One of my best friends is having knee surgery today to fix a torn meniscus. I know she is very worried about it. It could be a 15 minute procedure w/ 4 small incisions, or they may get in there & realize they need to lay her knee open. Praying for the 15 minute procedure! She was my walking buddy for a long time. She has messed around with this knee for a looong time, so I'm hoping this makes her knee good as new! I miss my walking buddy!
