Good Sunday Morning MMC! I was exhausted and slept 9 hours. That's a lot for me but after shoveling, blowing snow, and brushing snow off cars for about 5 hours yesterday I was just tired. 20 inches of snow is just too much for me. I wanted some snow but more like 3-4 inches lol. Anyway, the only good thing was that storm fell on a SATURDAY. Problem is that leaves me with a lot of things to do today that I didn't get to do yesterday due to the storm when I really want it to be a lazy Sunday. I was thinking yesterday how it'd be awesome if that storm fell on Christmas Day but then I realized maybe not THAT big of a storm because it would cause a lot of people problems getting anywhere if they need to go visit family etc. Anyway, today is the 24th and each month on this date I think about how we are 1 month closer to my favorite day of the year Christmas Eve. In a way it feels like it was a long time ago but honestly in another way it feels like Christmas Eve was yesterday. Does not feel like it's already 1 month down and 11 to go. But it's true and tomorrow we have Rudolph Day #1 for 2016. It's exciting guys.
Hope you all have a great Sunday and maybe we can reach the 6000 post quota today a week before the month ends even!
I feel the same about counting down to Christmas, so glad you made it through the storm ok

I said it before, if this place was only about how many posts we can get in I would not come here any more, I am so glad it is not. It is the most wonderful and friendly forum I have ever had the honour to be a part of. You have all become a special part of my life, thank you !

Good morning everyone, Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone in the path of the blizzard stayed safe.
Wishing all of you a beautiful day ♥

Good Morning, Christmas Supporters.

Still working to survive the great ice storm of 2016.
We actually had it pretty lucky with no power loss but are still frozen in here this morning with a hard-packed ice sheet covering our driveway. No way to shovel it. You would need a pick axe!
Should be a tad warmer today and perhaps some decent melting can occur.

Meanwhile, other events are happening.
Such as this:
Days to the Season: 294
Days to Christmas Day: 336

And the count to the 1/4 Milestone to Christmas Season 2016 has now declined to a mere 19 days.
(Wow. That's really starting to get close!)

As mentioned above, we have been fast-frozen here like preserved food in a freezer waiting to be thawed.
Our current temp is still below freezing at 27 degrees but with the promise of at least the mid 30's by this afternoon.
And guess what --- the sun is shining!

But no matter, anyway. This evening, my focus will be on the Carolina Panthers and their attempt to be the NFC champs!

Have a Super Sunday, Fellow NFL Fans!
time to get out the ice skates and have some fun. When I was a kid we used to have ice storms on a reg basis, we would get out the skates and see how far down the road we could get before the plow came and ruined our fun.

Good morning Edge, Happy Sunday!
We still have a lot of digging out to do. We ended up with close to 25 inches.
Hope your day goes well and you find some time to relax!
Wowza! Good luck to you guys today, take plenty of breaks to rest.
xx

This is such a lovely & special place to be!

How is Penny?
Has she been able to take her cone off, yet?

Prayers & hugs!

Thanks star. And you're right the amount of posts is impressive BECAUSE of the sincere quality of them and interest in this thread. People come here and post so much because they WANT to not to break records etc. We break records only because of genuine interest in the Christmas season, this awesome thread and the awesome people who come here. Makes us want to come here more and more...

Penny did have the cone off, but it is back on because one dissolving stitch refuses to dissolve and she was pulling on it causing some bleeding. Thought it would be safer to keep on the cone until the stitch is gone.

It funny how our annual snowfall totals fluctuate from year to year. You never know if you're going to see several inches of snow or several feet during the winter.
I read something that showed the "overall" average for our area actually is low compared to the last couple of decades average. For instance the 1970s say was average 17 inches...1980s 21 inches...1990s 23...and then the 2000s was like 30...and 20"10"s was like 35...like our average has gone up for some reason. Just seems like we have a major blizzard like every year now when we never used to.

Poor Sadie! My heart goes out to her. :(o_O

LOL Thank you!

Good afternoon, MMC!

Keeping everyone in my prayers!

My cold isn't worse, but I am exhausted so I am taking it easy today. There are a few things I need to do for the store, but other than that, I am going to read and maybe even nap. Working this weekend and I can't be tired when I do as I have displays to arrange as well as customers to help.

Be safe and MERRY!

Hope you feel better quickly!

Aw, poor Sadie. Please give her hug from me! Hope the server issues get sorted out soon! Have a MERRY day, Graywolf! Happy to see you back here!!! (((HUGS)))

Thanks Meceka!

Im in bed ready for some merry dreams, but I just got to tell you: T proposed to me during dinner!
I'm engaged❤️
I had given up on him (lol) so he took me by surprise.
Well, goodnight ❤️

Congratulations! That's wonderful!

Happy Friday everyone!! My Friday just go interesting. I had taken my daughter in on Wednesday to Urgent Care because she was complaining of her neck being sore and being hard to breathe and swallow. Rapid strep result came back negative, so the did a Mono test. That came back positive. We were given a prescription to help ease the swelling of her glands as she gets over Mono. Then I get a phone call today from the clinic saying that her strep culture came back negative! She looked really worn our yesterday (she went to school) and got up late today so I kept her home from school today. Kind of glad I did now, with that phone call from the clinic. The Mrs has family coming into town this weekend for a couple hockey games (They are from across the state.) Plus we were going to watch the local high school girls hockey game (My daughter wants to play hockey for them.) Guess my daughter isn't going to be going to the hockey games then. I'm not really positive I will be either. She is 13 (14 in March) and has a phone so she could get a hold of me if needed, but I'm not sure if I'll be comfortable leaving her at home alone.

On a positive note, my calf has gotten better each day. I ran a couple days ago and while it was still sore, I could run albeit at a much slower pace than I prefer, but I'm not pushing it. The heating pad at night has been helping.

To all our biddies ( Prancer :p) on the east coast, stay safe and warm. To everyone else not affected by storms this weekend, have a great weekend!!

Sean

Oh wow I hope your daughter is able to recover quickly!

Glad your calf is feeling better

Dinner and dishes over. I am so glad it is Saturday tomorrow and I don't have to be back and forth walking the kids to school. I wanted to wake up early and surprise everyone with freshly baked winter spice muffins in the morning but I am having so much pain at the moment, I will have to see. Hopefully the meds I got from the chemist will make a difference by morning. I don't want my saturday spent feeling under the weather.

Hope you guys are wrapping up at work soon and ready for your Friday night!

I am so sorry about the pain! I hope you're feeling much better today.

Good evening,

Another day at work that was pretty slow in customer traffic. I am jammed to the gills with product since I ordered extra for the major snowstorm that will not materialize in my neck of the world. Oh well, less I will have to order for the next week.
Just listening to some music, right now it is Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. I think this song has been forever altered for me by SNL, all I hear is the dang cowbell. :p
I am heading to bed, I don't know what to expect at work, we are suppose to get 1-3inches so it may be busy, it may not be. The chicken wings will be a big seller for football Sunday, so i can count on that at least.
Goodnight, everyone.

ROFL AAAAHAHAHAHA!!! Noah has a t-shirt that says, "More cowbell!" Bud had it made for him. LOL

Good Morning, Friends.

Still with you. No power loss.
Lots of sleet and some snow piled up here, but we are up and running!

As such, today's count is proudly presented (albeit at the tip of chilly fingers):
Days to the Season: 295
Days to Christmas Day: 337

And just this quickly, we find ourselves UNDER 3 weeks away from the ONE QUARTER MARK to Christmas Season 2016, the 2nd marker on our Milestone chart.
Just 20 days!

Well, sleet fell for nearly the entire day yesterday, and overnight we added a slight topping of fresh snow. Walking around outside this morning, I don't recall seeing it much more hard-packed than this.
(Ideal for sledding, if I was so inclined.)
Today will see little melt as the temps won't get much above freezing but little additional precipitation is expected.
Our thermometer stands just over 26 degrees here at this hour under rather cloudy skies.

But regardless of your weather, it is Saturday after all.
Try to have the most Sensational one you possibly can.
(I for one, will be thinking about the Panthers game tomorrow!)

So glad you didn't lose power! Thank you for the countdown!!

You probably got close to your average in one storm!
Crazy. Have they removed the travel ban?

Yep, good idea to have it back on then.
Hopefully it dissolves quickly.
Continued prayers for healing ❤️

Morning everyone and happy Sunday. I hope everyone has had a great weekend so far.
GM Happy Sunday Tis...enjoy your day!

Good Morning & Happy Sunday!
Hope everyone had a safe, warm & restful night.
Prayers for all of you ❤️
Today will be a day of laundry, and some relaxation in between. I'm thinking some reading & catching up on the DVR.
Wishing you all a blessed and cozy day~
