They still have a couple of more years to get that 5th ring with Brady/Belichick...that's all they really are looking for at this point is to cement themselves as the greatest winning QB/Coach combo in history alone. But I'm sure some fans will whine :).
The whining was ridiculous as soon as I got to work, some Pats fans were saying the Patriot's "threw" the game so the NFL could have Manning win the Super Bowl in his last game.

Oh wow. I H.A.T.E. Atlanta traffic. Why do people live here?

The guys are at the concert, and I'm in the hotel room. I have to go pick them up in a couple hours.

I found a Panda Express, so I'm full now. I love that Orange Chicken with chow mein!

Have a great evening!
Sounds like an awesome & relaxing night!
Enjoy, Brad!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

What a cold Saturday we had...it even snowed a little bit early that morning! I woke Elizabeth up to tell her it was snowing, and she popped right out of bed to get dressed. Of course there was no accumulation, but she stood out in the cold, trying to catch flakes in her mouth...at 7am LOL!

Nancy and I finally had our date night...at home. The kids went to my mom's for supper and a movie, so Nancy and I ordered dinner in and watched a PPV movie on Amazon Prime. Great evening!

Today is the day Jacob and his buddy get to go to the rock concert in Atlanta. They're 18, but I'm going with them, anyway. Atlanta is a little too much for boys raised in the country! We'll spend the night and come home tomorrow.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Enjoy the concert!!!

Wow! That looks amazing!! I bet it tasted amazing too. Wish I didn't like bacon so much! ;)
They devoured the bacon explosion so fast, I didn't even think to take a picture of after it was smoked, but here it was ready for the smoker...

When it's done smoking, I spread bbq sauce over it. Yumm-o! I also made smoked twice baked potatoes, an olive garden salad, corn from the garden, & "knock you naked bars" for dessert! :p:D (WOW were they yummy!)
Yum!!!

Good morning all !
Home sick with this cold still, hopefully I can go back to work tomorrow.
Had a chat with my cell phone provider....ahhhhhhhh!!!! But I think everything is good now.
Doing some packing again today, not much because I do not seem to have much energy. It needs doing, only 5 weeks till moving day. Once settled I can start planning on how to decorate for Christmas !
Well back to getting ready for my TOPS meeting tonight
Have a great day everyone !
I hope you are feeling better.

Stay safe tonight.
Thanks, friend.

It was a long drive we had to make in the storm tonight-went to meet Adi's family an hour south from here. It got bad about 15 miles outside of Eau Claire. Whiteout conditions & icy on the interstate. Some counties were not plowed at all. Bad on the way home, too. Got about 10 minutes outside of Eau Claire, and there was virtually nothing. Glad to be home safe!

You're welcome, snowflake!
I'm happy your head is feeling better!!
Crossing fingers I can sleep better tonight. Guess I slept too much over the weekend.
You have a Merry Monday, too!
(((HUGS))) for you and Har.

I'm glad you are safe, Binger. Any recommendations on a smooth tasting coffee that packs a caffeine punch? Have a merry java-filled week!!

Thank you SnowflakeMom! You have a good day, too!

Thank you, Crown!
Congratulations on your team winning!
You have a Marvelous Monday, too!

HAPPY 11 MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS to you, too, DYHWIY!

Thank you, HmG! You have a Happy Monday and a great week ahead, too! (((HUGS)))

Aw, I'm so happy Elizabeth was able to enjoy some snow and that you and Nancy had a great date night. Have a fun time at the concert tonight! Who are you seeing?
Have a MERRY week, Brad!

Olive garden salad, yummy! Do you think a bacon explosion would work with beef bacon which does not crisp up very well? "Knock you naked bars" ~ recipe please!

Merry Monday, made! I hope things are going well with you and yours!

Hope you are better soon!

Wind like that makes my allergies flare ~ hope you and your family do not have any ill effects from being out in such conditions!
Monday is my favorite day; do I still get to reward myself?! ;)

I don't blame you about being nervous about ice! Scary stuff! Please stay safe, HmG!
We don't really hear of beef bacon around here anymore.
This is my only memory of it.

I love Olive Garden salad too! Even better now that we can buy the dressing from the store! (I use to make it homemade)

Knock You Naked Bars
Ingredients

  • Bars
  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    Caramel Sauce
  • 5 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 bag (14 oz) caramels
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 in pan.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bow. Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually mix in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
  3. Spread half of cookie dough into the prepared pan. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven.
  4. While the cookie dough is baking melt caramels and evaporated milk in a double boiler. Add peanut butter after caramels are melted. Melt thoroughly. Spread over baked cookie dough base.
  5. With the remaining cookie dough, drop by spoonfuls ontop of the caramel mixture.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until light golden brown.
Those bars look quite tasty. Thanks for sharing

Oh, I won't be attending. I'm dropping them off at the front door, then heading back to the hotel for some pizza and Netflix. I'll pick them up when it's over, but I don't want to hear any Tool or Primus LOL.
Primus had a few hits I remember and the South Park theme song. I have a cassette of theirs from the mid-90's, I think it is my only remaining cassette.

Hope everyone is having a peaceful Monday.

Just wanted to ask you all if you would please say a prayer for Noah's girlfriend's grandmother? (Soon to be his fiance - I was just asked for grandma's ring to take with him to Montana, to propose atop of the highest point they can hike/camp to on horseback their last weekend there, which will also be their anniversary and there - he wants to ask her under the stars - no she has no clue).

Grandma is by no means 'elderly,' or feeble. Grandma is a US Airforce vet and a riot. I drove over to pick up Noah from her house last week, which was my first time meeting her in person. She was hysterical and I loved that she still had Christmas wreaths on her door and inside two large display cases filled with Christmas villages and Santas. Yes I wanted to be her best friend right then and there.

Over Thanksgiving she went to the VA in Tallahassee, because she'd been having headaches that wouldn't stop. After a CT and a biopsy they determined she has a benign cyst that grew around the spinal cord at the base of her skull. They felt the best course of action was to operate after the 1st of the year to remove it, but to completely remove every trace, they would have to go into the spinal column, remove two vertebrae and replace them, otherwise the cyst could grow back. So her option was several surgeries over years to continually remove it, or this big invasive procedure, once. She opted for the big one.

Today was her surgery date. Dana just texted me that Dot is being moved to recovery now. In about a week, she can come back home, Dana will be staying with her. She'll have to be in a jaw and shoulder harness which positions her head and holds it isolated and still for 3 months. She was telling me about the surgery when I was picking up Noah that night. She said, "It's fine - you get through it, but the thing that really worries me - What has me up pacing the floor at night, what I'm most frightened of - I have to eat my daughter's cooking for three months." Then she shuddered. ROFL

Dana said, "Nanna don't worry - I'm sure if you ask nicely, I might be able to get my boyfriend's lovely mom to either teach me how to cook, or possibly make some meals to bring to you." ROFL

Hoping she heals quickly. Personally that would drive me nuts being immobilized for 3 months.

She will be in my thoughts.
