Good Morning, Fellow Christmas Comrades!

Rise, shine, take a sip of tea (NOT coffee) unfold today's copy of The Daily Count......and prepared to be astounded.

Days to the Season: 290
Days to Christmas Day: 332

And what is the astounding part?
Well, how about the fact that as of the day after tomorrow we will be down to just TWO WEEKS to the ONE QUARTER Milestone to Christmas Season 2016.
(No? How about mildly astounding? Surprised? Merely interested?)


As predicted, the warmth of yesterday did away with the last of the ice cover and things are back to normal -- at least for this time of the year.
We have commenced the day here at 39 degrees, still with some threat of rain.

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve!!

I posted this over in the Prayer Request thread, but thought I would update you - Please keep my SIL in your prayers. She is back in the hospital. Yesterday she called her friend b/c she was in so much pain - she told her friend to call Hospice, she just wanted to die. So her friend called my sister, my sister called the oncologist who said to get her to the ER - she can't make decisions like this while she's in crisis. So she went in by squad last night & my sis met her there. They have to remove fluid from her Pleural cavity (Thoracentesis‎) I'm not sure if this has been done already or if that will be today. My sis is going back to the hospital today.

So guess where I get to go tonight? Yep, back to the funeral home. My sis who is at the hospital today was going to take Mom, but obviously she is busy now. My Dad's Aunt (through marriage) passed away. She was 96 & a wonderful lady. I didn't know her well - haven't seen her for years & years, but I have met a couple of her sons a few times, my Dad was her son's Godfather. We are also taking Mom to a funeral/gathering (celebration of life) Saturday morning. One of her friends from way back passed away, & we are friends with his daughter/husband, so we all will be going. What fun, huh?

Geez, this is a pretty morbid post- sorry to be a downer.

I am happy that it is Friday Eve!!!! Have a Fantastic Friday Eve everyone!!!

Same way it was here last year Edge. All Feb. was brutal and snow storms constantly. All this weather is doing is making us soft for when it finally hits..lol

I know...last winter if it was 15 degrees we thought it was warm. This year 30s and we're complaining and whining!

It is very sad and indeed tough what your SIL is going through. I pray that she gets the medical advice and treatment she needs and her situation can improve. It must be such a shock to everyone and that in itself is hard.

Sorry to hear your mum is having to say good bye to someone else and so soon after her dear friend. I know going to the funeral home is tough but take comfort in the thought that you can be there for your mum. You will get through it.

Praying for strength and courage to help you through this difficult time. We are here to listen and to support you all the way.

Good afternoon,

Dentist in the morning, just sitting home now watching TV. I am feeling quite yucky today, sinuses all blocked up and painful. Woke up feeling that way.

I still have my 7.5 foot tree up, I was supposed to take that down today, but just feel to sick to do it. Sunday is now my day to take it down. I do love it, it still on and shining brightly, but it is time for it to come down.
This is the beauty that is still lingering.

I will be back throughout the evening.

Good morning, MMC!

It is so strange to be in the ranks of the early morning posters now, but for some reason it is easier for me to keep up. Yay! A plus to getting up early.

Another busy day here. The utility company left a message the other day that the electricity is going to be turned off around 9 this morning for updates to the system. I hope it doesn't last long as it is windy and damp out. The wind is blowing in the right direction to go through the house so the furnace is on more than off. Going to be in the 40's this weekend with rain and it is Snowfest this week, too. It seems that every year during Snowfest the temperature warms up. Doesn't stop the crowds, though. Should be a busy time at the store. I stocked it pretty good last weekend so it will be interesting how well I did.
