Christmas Countdown - 2016

You guys are the best, thank you so much. I ended up taking my daughter to my primary care physician. I thought it was time for her to stop seeing the pediatrician since she's 20 now. Thankfully she doesn't have the flu but she does have an ear infection on top of whatever is going on with her sinuses. She also has an awful cough that has been keeping her up at night. I just paid $75 for cough medicine! I also picked up a stronger antibiotic. And the doctor said my daughter has a heart murmur. Our pediatrician never, ever heard a heart murmur in the past 20 years. We have to schedule an echocardiogram. Hopefully it's nothing to be concerned about. I am exhausted today, I haven't been sleeping well myself. Looking forward to a relaxing evening.

I've long felt that Tuesday is kinda worse. You don't expect much of Monday to begin with; Wednesday is Hump Day; Thursday is Friday Eve; and Friday is ... Friday. But there isn't much good to be said about Tuesday!

I think that started for me years ago when I used to work a night shift from 4 p.m. to midnight. Because Tuesday night had the most deadlines, and material was often delayed, midnight sometimes stretched to 2 a.m. or 4 a.m.---and at least twice, the day crew coming in at 7 a.m. found the night crew still there. Since then, I'm not very fond of Tuesdays!

Finally captured a photo of the squirrel I told you guys about. I just saw him a few minutes ago. This is him on the Laurel tree.

He scampered away when we took a few nuts outside for him.

Not too much going on here today, typical day of errands and chores. My mothers birthday is in a couple of weeks so I'm going to start planning a party for her. I think I'll browse online for a gift as well. I always have a hard time coming up with ideas!

my van is waiting for my nephew to come and see what is wrong, the steering wheel shakes like crazy when I drive. Everyone figures it is the tires, I hope they are right since I have a set of all seasons that can go on right away. But you are so right about missing your vehicle when something happens. I borrow my friends car to pick up mom at the airport. I love her generosity but do not like driving that car.

I know what you mean. The only car I want to drive is my own. I hate to borrow anyone else's car which is why I almost never do.

And the first number also informs us that we are now UNDER a week off from the 300-day Christmas Day Milestone, marker number 3 on our Countdown chart.
(After that, of course, we will be into the 200's for BOTH of our counts!)


Noticeably cooler yesterday, and we had plenty of rain.
More of the same conditions today.
Tomorrow will see the rain continue, but with warmer temps.
Currently, we are at 46 soggy degrees here in central North Carolina.

I have had Christmas music humming to myself in my car lately...and I've been good about staying away from any Christmas shows but I am craving.

Going to be a long day today. Another slow cooker full of cranberry applesauce is cooking away ~ the smell of cinnamon and vanilla is very strong ~ love it!! Trying to figure out what I want to accomplish today ~ so much to do. I just need to prioritize.

These are the winter days that I love. Crisp, winter sunshine and blue skies.
