Christmas Countdown - 2016

She rested most of the day, poor thing has too much going on right now. Not sure if it's one thing, or a combination of many. The cough sounds terrible. I just don't get it, she only stopped the Furosemide 5 days ago. But they say fluid can build up quickly.

Harlowe needs a break. That's how I felt when Nitro kept getting sick. It was like one thing after another.

Me 'n Gracie are doing pretty good. I'm still coughing & I have a bit of a sore throat, but not too bad. Gracie - well - the little $#!% pulled a pan of brownies off the cupboard yesterday & helped herself!! She had done that once before when she was younger & I remember them saying there really isn't much chocolate in brownies, unless you made homemade with real choc chips, etc. so she was probably fine. And she did seem fine. We just kept an eye on her. Fingers crossed she doesn't have any problems. I think the symptoms would have showed up by now. I figure she probably got them shortly after I left to come back to work after lunch which would have been around 1:15 yesterday. Little booger! Always something!

Oh my goodness, Gracie certainly keeps you on your toes! Sending up prayers, I hope she doesn't get sick! Maggie can barely get up a single step so I don't have to worry about her doing something like that. But my crazy cats make up for it!

I wonder why chocolate is so bad for dogs. I give Nitro peanut butter so I hope that's ok...but I don't give him any chocolate cause I know they're not supposed to eat it.

I used to give Har peanut butter, and I still will when she wants it, but you have to watch the ingredients for Xylitol-it is toxic to dogs, and can poison or kill them.
It's also the ingredient in gum that's toxic to dogs.

I will just buy natural peanut butter that doesn't use it.

Lol! We had 71º yesterday! It's supposed to be upper 60's today but rain is already moving in. Dark & dreary out there!

How hot do you get in summer?

Last year we reached 30C for a few days (86F) and national health warnings were issued LOL !! They were giving out free bottles of water on the motorway because it was so hot. LOL!! I have everything crossed for a repeat of this phenomena this year LOL!

We have received a total of 14 inches of snow for this winter, last year we had over 100 inches for the winter.

Our winter was crazy this year...so much less than last year but I will take it.

Good Wednesday Morning MMC! Happy Pines Day! Seems like these weeks are rolling so fast now that the weather is warmer. The only bad thing about turning the clocks ahead this weekend will be losing an hour of sleep. But people say that...the thing is I make sure I don't lose an hour of SLEEP maybe of CHORES I cut out instead! Anyway, just another mid-week but only today and tomorrow to work for me then I'm heading to IHOP on my first vacation day of the year. Not sure how I made it to almost mid-March without taking one. Everyone ready for the pines?

Happy Pines Holiday! Bad Gracie!! Leo and Andre have been in there fair share of things. I did not know Andre was a counter surfer (we rescued him 2.5 years ago) and the first few months he was an angel! Then we came home one night and he ate my husband's entire chocolate bday cake which I am sure Leo had his share too once it was on the ground. Leo has also got into a family size bag of Doritos and they ate the entire bag. They are devils! Hope you have a great Pines Day!

It seems like a lot of you are having lovely dry, mild weather. I'm so jealous! It's raining here. It never stops raining here! I don't mind the cold so much and enjoy crisp, cold winter days with frost and fresh snow. Sadly, our seasons are predominantly wet regardless.

I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. Things are finally starting to slow down as of this afternoon. Hopefully I can enjoy some vacation time now!

Harlowe is coughing more again, and it sounds different. So, we didn't sleep well and I'm worried. Just spoke with her vet, and we are starting her on the Furosemide again. Hopefully that helps, if not she feels it could be another issue. So we need to schedule an appointment for her on Friday. If the symptoms lessen or cease with the Furosemide, we may cancel it. But if not, another exam and possibly more tests. Please keep her in your prayers.

Poor girl!! I hope these additional meds help her.

Oh no! So sorry to hear her cough is worse again. I hope the Furosemide helps her out!! Will she stay on the heart med & also take Furosemide? I hope the combination of meds makes her good as new! Prayers!!

Gracie gets PB sometimes too. And I don't intentionally give Gracie chocolate either. I must not have pushed the brownie pan back far enough on the counter when I left for work. My bad!
