We spoke to her yesterday by phone, and although she's physically frail, she sounded great! She has ongoing physical therapy, and her walking is improving, but she's still using a walker at home for stability.

We gave her the good news---on her birthday---that we're going to pay her a visit this summer. Now all three of us are pumped about it! Money-wise it's a scary thing, but we haven't seen her for 2 years, and now that she's 90, we can't let the opportunity pass. (The way she sounded last night, though, we wouldn't be surprised if she reaches 100!)

Good evening everyone, or should I say goodnight?
Well, the wife and I went out to do a little bit of car shopping this evening. The plan was simply to look, not really to buy just yet. I have been looking online at various car lots ans such for several weeks now, so I had a pretty decent idea what was in the area and what we were looking for. We went to a local lot because of seeing a car online that intrigued us. We wanted to see the car in person. To make a long story short, we could not NOT buy the car. So... we bought a car tonight. It is a 2007 Chevy HHR, granted, not new by any means, BUT only 32,000 miles!!! The car had only 1 owner who bought the car from that lot and just traded it in. The owner was an older couple who barely drove the car. It is in perfect shape inside and out. They took great care of the car and kept the maintenance records as well. The price was right, lower than what we were willing to pay. Pretty exciting evening.

I'll actually get a 3-day weekend, thanks to Monday being Patriots Day in Massachusetts. Our office is one of those that closes to allow employees to enjoy the Boston Marathon. Don't know yet if Mr. has Monday off. Hope so, but either way, it'll be great to have the extra time at home.

I saw a video of a 104 year old running last week...and he was actually running (to the point you'd actually have to put enough effort to jog just to stay with him at his pace).

How are the Islanders doing in the playoffs? I know they just started.

They won game one of the first round last night! They play again tonight.

Good Friday Morning MMC! TGIF! Tax day although that's now on Monday due to an extension. Mine are long done anyway. The sun is shining and this is going to be a beautiful weekend ahead. 65 on Saturday with sunshine and 70 on Sunday with sunshine. Pretty much perfect weather or as my brother in San Diego calls it "San Diego weather." Gotta enjoy it especially after last weekend where it was chilly with some rain and wet snow. Plans for the weekend include resting...and some errands but also maybe gonna go hiking with my friend a bit. I signed up for the fall to take Statistics as i'm taking some math courses to get up to 30-35 math credits so that I can apply for a Masters degree eventually. Who knew all the courses I took for my Accounting degree and only 1 of them was math! Go figure.

I was happy last night to see when I got to the lake, the marina guys had started putting pontoons in the water! YIPPEE!

Then I went to Moms & my hubby was there tilling up our garden!!! Fun times ahead!!!

Look how low the water is already though. After all that rain! They must have opened up the spillway planning for more spring rain!! If we don't get a lot of rain this spring, our lake will be in big trouble by July/August!

Good Morning all my Christmas loving friends !!

Friday already, wow time is just flying by.
Just took 2 loaves of sourdough bread out of the oven and it smells great in here !!!
working on some focaccia bread for first time. I buy it at farmers market but never made it myself. Will see how it comes out.
Doctors appointment this morning then plan to do some accent painting and wallpaper (just one wall) in the living room. Tomorrow getting some work done on the van.
It is finally getting into spring temperatures here. Still a few mountains of snow in parking lots slowly melting but looks like spring may be here at last.
