The ticks are really bad this year, found another one crawling on Harlowe last night. So tiny-looked like a small spider.
Keep a close eye on your pets, and yourself!
HA! Apparently your daughter didn't buy into that idea!Oh my! I tried to bribe the kids to elope.
Details, Details!!Hope it all goes well! So exciting. My niece (my Goddaughter) said yes to a dress over the weekend!

Eloping can give you all the good parts without the expense and drama. Mr. and I didn't want all the details and costs---we needed to set up a household---so we had a private ceremony, just we two and the justice. (She even took pictures for us.) Never regretted it ... always thought of it as the perfect wedding, outdoors on a sunny autumn day. I can't think about it without smiling. As Mr. said later, it really makes you concentrate on what you're saying when you repeat the vows.Oh my! I tried to bribe the kids to elope.
Me, too!EEK! That gives me the chills!! Nasty things!! I'm glad you found it right away!! Blah!
600 & 750 PEOPLE? They invite half the town apparently?I know - can't wait to see it!
Most weddings around here are between 600 & 750. LOL

I pray you never have to, friend! That's so scary. I'm glad you saw it. I've never found a tick on any of my animals. I get nervous with Maggie, she has that dark hair. I don't even know if would I even see a tick on her. Ugh.
I've been ignoring the consequences of this diet on my Saturday morning Oreo fix. If I can man-up and get past Saturday, I think I'll have it in the bag.So you're saying no oreos Saturday and Sunday? Or you quitting this soup fast by Friday?![]()
It takes a strong man to do it...may the force be with you.I've been ignoring the consequences of this diet on my Saturday morning Oreo fix. If I can man-up and get past Saturday, I think I'll have it in the bag.![]()
UGH!Me, too!
The scary part is that I checked her over after we got back from our walk, so they can hide pretty easily![]()

LOL! Pretty much. Aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, friends....Wow, I can't even imagine.
I bet they're fun celebrations!!
I only have the one daughter, but in my limited experience I've found it's best to go ahead and say something stupid, like "What's wrong with wearing those shoes you bought last year?", or "Your hair is fine." And voilà! No one expects anything from you! That's about what I said! His parents have a couple of successful businesses and I think that's the majority of it. They are helping with the expenses, so I can't really complain.
The real pain of this is that this is the first of my daughters getting married. I have six daughters. This daughter is not my eldest, who is now 30 and feeling a little...awkward... about it all. But since it is the first wedding every detail is really important...the dress...who gets to go look for the dress...who is there the first time it is put on...who is doing her hair...what are the colors....and all the way overblown details that are important but at the end of the day really aren't important.
This is our pain right now and my job, because I'm Daddy and thus a moron, is to merely pick up whoever's feelings are hurt, scrape them off the floor, and tell them to get over it. Seriously, I've not had this drama with my girls since they argued who the puppy was for on Christmas morning 15 years ago.
I find I can only make things worse by opening my mouth too much -- so YOU guys get to be my sounding board.
The dress thing got done this weekend, fortunately. I haven't started drinking yet. Now to get the invites out....

The first of six weddings in your future, eh? I recommend starting slow with something like Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill.

---- TRAVEL ALERT ---
The Crowns will be doing some traveling this month! Three different trips.
The first starts this Wednesday. A 2 day trip to western NC where my sister has a work conference. My nieces and I are going along to visit the Biltmore House in Asheville.
The second will be our annual trip to see relatives in Florida coming up at mid month.
The third and last will be over the Memorial Day weekend to complete work at the cottage for the start of the summer rental season.
(Lots of guest counter opportunities!!)
Anyone interested in the first one?
(I can post Wednesday, as we are not leaving until late morning but someone will be needed for Thursday and Friday.)

The country music star, Brad Paisley, has a song whose lyrics include the phrase "I'd like to check you for ticks."The ticks are really bad this year, found another one crawling on Harlowe last night. So tiny-looked like a small spider.
