Good Saturday Morning MMC! I hope Crown is back today. I slept ok but not great. Last couple of mornings since everything happened I've woken up an hour earlier than I normally do. Not saying that's the reason but maybe my brain is thinking too much and won't let myself sleep as much as I normally do? Hasn't been that bad though as I've slept close to normal mostly. Anyway, I think the whole keeping busy thing has been better for me than sitting around doing nothing. I'm not really wired that way anyway to sit around and do nothing even when life is 100% perfect. Pizza was good last night!

Merry Morning, MMC! A rainy one here, but it's calming as I relax this morning.

I am enjoying some wonderful rest here before leaving with my husband for a friend of his' wedding! We will drive this afternoon and drive back tonight since I have to work tomorrow. I hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing day ahead. A very happy Saturday to all!

The 200-day Christmas Day Milestone Marker is barely over 2 1/2 weeks away, after which point, BOTH of our Milestones will be in the 100's, which in turn means an ever-increasing acceleration towards Christmas and its glorious Season. How exciting!

I know it was tough loosing Nitro. We have lost dogs too. No fun. Hurts deeply for a while. They really do become part of you and a just little bit of you dies when they do.


Pretty good weather for our trip to Florida. Some rain but it was not overly intrusive. The humidity was higher down there but again, not too bad for May.
Today has started here at a wet 64 degrees after an overnight rain.

And it's good to be home to Raleigh -- and to MMC!

I'm going to head out soon, I want to get my food shopping over with. Back home afterward to work on some chores around the house. I may do some clothes shopping later this afternoon, I have a couple of gift cards from Mother's Day. And I should really workout at some point today. I have not been consistent. No surprise there. Could you imagine if you ever said something like there's peanut butter in the car LOL he would have gone mental!

When I was very little, we had a poodle who was crazy about peanut butter. When we had a jar that was empty (meaning there was still some peanut butter sticking to the inside), Mom would take the lid off, put it on the kitchen floor on its side, and the poodle would stick his nose in there, trying to get every last lick of peanut butter---rolling that jar from one end of the kitchen to the other! I still laugh about that.

I have been up since 6am Yes really. On a Saturday

The good news is we have a free day today! No errands, no DIY, no viewings ! I can't remember the last Saturday we had just to do nothing and I need it!

Today is the FA Cup Final - Manchester United vs Crystal Palace. A VERY big deal here. Football mad country as you already know. We stocked up on some delicious snacks yesterday so we don't have to face the mob at the supermarkets today as everyone organises for the game.

The boys are excited. They are making a banner in a bit.

Maybe some of you will know which team we will be rooting for

We're not big on sports,* but we'll probably watch the Preakness Stakes later this afternoon (the second race of the Triple Crown).

*I take that back---Mr. is a big Red Sox fan.

I'm envious. That would be so nice visit someone who lived there.

You're picturing a beautiful estate on the beach ... no. Gloria lives with her son and his family on a farm out in the rain forest. She likes to compare it to "Green Acres." When we're there, we take her shopping in Hilo (about half an hour's drive away) and take her out to eat---she loves Big Macs and KFC and Subway. She also loves ice cream, so we usually wind up at the DQ or Baskin-Robbins. Ever see an 80-something feeling like a teenager again? We have so much fun with her.

She was in the movies as a teenager, with Donald O'Connor (who was her crush at the time), Bing Crosby, W.C. Fields, and Mel Torme, among others. Here's an overview of her career (she introduces her own YouTube videos!):
