Christmas Countdown - 2016

[Holiday]

Good morning my MMC friends!!! I haven't had a chance to catch up & I'm not sure that I will! Weekend was great - a little chilly, especially in the evenings, but still great & very little rain after Friday night. I stayed with Mom last night & really drug my feet coming in to work today! I watered her flowers & planted a Japanese maple & a pee gee hydrangea at home this morning~ SO. HARD. TO. COME. IN. TO. WORK. TODAY! My hubby is on vacation today & tomorrow & it's just gorgeous outside!!! I'm heavily leaning on the idea of taking off work tomorrow, snatching up Emma & going to the lake to clean! Tomorrow night we are going out with family in convertibles for my BIL's birthday. Doesn't that sound like a great day! Need to run it past my boss!

I'm certain everyone else around here thinks it's all in my imagination, since we've been working on it for three years with little headway LOL.

In high school I had a 1977 Camaro, and I loved it. A few years ago, my brother (a mechanic) found one rusting away and brought it in to his shop to start restoring it. Since then, we've bought two more cars, trying to make one out of three. We had an awesome engine built, then sold it to a guy who was willing to pay a lot for it. With that money, we're building another engine AND buying new interior parts.

It's taking forever, but sometimes it's the journey together that matters...I hope!

Sounds like a great project. I bet you didn't think it would take this long when you started. It usually doesn't. I have some friends that restore Triumphs. Always takes them longer than they think. But they're done. Wow! I hop you finish relatively soon.

I had a 74 Grand Prix with a Chevy 454 engine. (and an 8 track player). That thing would fly. I didn't know enough back then to build a car, so I had to buy one. I don't know how I didn't kill myself when I was a teenager. I must have been a great driver.

Post some pics if you think about it. You can't beat the muscle cars of the 60's and 70's.

It depends how long the house errands take, but if we can pack more we will =]
We haven't really done any of our errands yet, and there's a lot we have to look at, measure, and buy/order.
We will go by the house one night, look around, and take Har for another walk in the neighborhood. And we will be grilling out steaks with our friends, too

I made a pot roast in the smoker yesterday, then stuck it in the crock pot....but it didn't get done, so we took Mom out for supper at a restaurant at the lake instead. We'll have Pot roast for supper tonight!
The bicycle poker run was a riot! There were 235 riders. So fun. Yesterday was just total relaxation at the lake...until we got a picture text from our neighbors at home ~ they & their friends were having drinks & snacks on our patio. LOL! They are such goof balls! So we went home & joined them. (our patio was in the sun, theirs was shaded & chilly so they moved) Ahhhh, and now it's Monday again! But I hope you're having as good of a Monday as Monday can be!

Oh how I miss the lakes when you start talking about it. We never lived near them but we visited often with friends and family. Such fond memories.

It is going to be a very warm week, so I am going to take advantage of the sun and work in the utility room. I need to make room for a storage piece. Should be fun and great exercise as I have a lot of boxes to move in and out, up and down.

I am loving the warmer weather, too!

We went to Menard's on Saturday, and it was packed! Everybody doing home improvements, buying flowers & things for their gardens, decks, and patios. Love it!!
