Some pics from this morning of the park where I like to walk Loki. Had some geese hiss at us, protecting their young. And Loki met a huge long-haired German Shepherd. I had never seen one like that, it was gorgeous. Now time to run some errands.

Boy oh boy what a busy morning. And here's why:
Last night just as I was getting ready to leave work I uncover a file on my desk. It was a small project I had started in January that would save us some money and increase customer satisfaction. Management loved it and told me to proceed. But somehow it got buried under another project. (a.k.a. Forgotten by Rich)
So this morning I had to go to my boss and eat some crow and explain why this hasn't implemented yet. He said get it done ASAP. Luckily he had a smile on his face. So that is what I've been doing all morning and I'm just about done with my portion of things. I just have to send the marked up drawings to the drafter and document the project.
Wow, I'm such a goober.
Time to relax and enjoy some lunch.

That happens. Sometimes you keep piling up the new stuff on top of the old stuff and sorta forget about the old stuff for a few weeks...or months...or years lol till it comes up one day out of nowhere.

Its weird because if PTO time is maxed it turns into sick days. If sick days are maxed also you lose it. Idk they run a sketchy system because its for their benefit. I kinda smile when I hear em raging because somebody is working "their system".. and its always a hourly that gets 1 over on em. Lol

Can you carry them over to the next year? I can. A lot of places though make you use it by the end of the year or you lose it.

Nope..thats why I was off most of Jan. And Feb. had to burn up my PTO,vacation, and sick days. The year starts over on your hire date. But..because I am salary I restart maxed on everything.

Ours is use it or lose "Vacation Time".
We don't have sick days. If you're sick, stay home. If your child is sick, stay home.
And believe it or not, we don't have an attendance problem. Nobody hardly misses.
Extreme cases are handled on an individual basis and usually are handled with FMLA. I had shoulder surgery and was out for 3 weeks and never missed any pay. They treat us very well here. Just don't take advantage of the system. Or else... well, just don't take advantage.
