Christmas Countdown - 2016

Christmas friends!!!!! Hope everyone is well. We are kicking the weekend off in fashion with yard work and grocery shopping...good times! We are feverishly prepping for next weekend, which is the Deuce's first birthday. That's my nickname for her....Bambina and Deuce. I could just call them by their name, but that wouldn't be as much fun.

I'm catching up on the posts and it made me smile to know that your mom is home with you and that Harlowe is enjoying her time with her grandmother. Glad to know that things worked out for your new home and that closing date. Have a nice night.

I am so glad that this week is over and that I have the weekend off. They announce decent weather tomorrow but back to cold temps on Sunday. So far June is not that great.

Busy week at work and next week I'll be training two new assistant-managers so it will be another long week, as I'll have to find time to do my own work in-between all that training.

A great thing at work though: we raised 125$ in donations to the Québec Cancer Society in the name of one of our employees, who today has cut her verrrry long hair to donate to make wigs. The generosity of some people really warms my heart.

My husband is at a friend's tonight, so I'm going to finish binge-watching a tv show that I started watching a couple of weeks ago, if I can stay awake that is.

The one I found really chilling featured Peter Lorre betting a stranger his lighter wouldn't light ten times in a row. The loser would have a finger chopped off ... I have that one on VHS.

So grateful to have my Mom here, Harlowe is enjoying the time with her so much too-Grandma's are the best!
They hit up some garage sales yesterday, and I came home to find a vintage Santa blow mold & vintage jack-o-lantern blow mold, & a vintage plastic popcorn Jack-o-lantern that I've wanted for awhile. We had one just like it growing up =]
It's been nice knowing she's at home caring for Har, and that I have someone to chat with at night.

Our house is coming along, in a last minute dash to the finish line.
But as always, there are issues and we may or may not close in time. Looking at our options right now. It's been a stressful few days-hoping for the best!!

I have a problem with the whole "iced hot" oxymoron thing, I will stick with the Coolattas.

Vanilla bean coolata is pretty good. I used to like mocha coolata too. I think those things have like 800 calories though. Sometimes I notice the special drinks at places (like ice cream places) shakes to drink etc. are more calories than just getting some actual ice cream or a donut to eat.

I decided to get my husband concert tickets for his birthday. And I'm going with a Summer theme for Fathers Day, I got a floating recliner lounge for the pool, new gadgets for the BBQ, and a gift card to Omaha Steaks. He loves going there, he's like a kid in a candy store. I think he'll be happy!
