Awwww Harlowe already found her spot. Love it. Hope the big move goes well today. You finally get to sleep in your new home tonight! Hugs to you and little Harlowe.


Hang in there Christmasstar. I know how it is when younger employees seek out other jobs come summertime and everyone else has to pick up the slack until new hires come in. Some of the joys of working retail in my case. Hope your workdays go by fast so you can enjoy your weekend.


Enjoy this weekend off, well deserved after all that time you put in to prepare everything at the new hospital.


Last night when hubby got home, we tried out a new restaurant where he ate what is supposedly a super spicy burger. He says he has yet to find a TRULY spicy meal but the burger did bring some tears to his eyes. We then took Loki and went for a long drive and ended the night with soft serve ice cream. A perfect Summer evening. So far today, we took Loki for a long walk in the park and went shopping for sandals and shoes (found the latter, no luck on the former). Now we're trying to figure out what we want to do this afternoon as it's such a beautiful hot Summer day.

It is great to have everything moved over.
It was so hot & humid, though! One of our friends suffered heat stroke helping us, we felt so bad. He is doing fine now, thankfully.

Harlowe is doing much better now that her / our things, that she recognizes, are there. So much change at once, so I'm trying to set her things up like they were at the rental <3 She is a trooper!

Day off was a busy one, we went to a 6th birthday party for my dather's fiance for most of the day, came home and watched our towns fireworks right across the street from our front door.
Work tomorrow, it is the final stretch of five in a row until my vacation. Getting excited now!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was another scorcher yesterday, up to 102F. I went to my brother's shop to work on the Camaro, but the heat got to me. Down here, we say "that bear got on me." I'm not sure of the etymology of that saying, but he was certainly on my back. It took a half gallon of Gatorade and a dip in the pool to get over it. Whew! I've become such a wimp. LOL

A previous preacher is coming to give the sermon today. Our current preacher's wife had double knee replacement late last week, so he is home taking care of her. It'll be fun to see Brother John again.

And if you have been religiously following our count, you will know that yesterday we "reached the peak" and are now on the downhill slope to Christmas Day 2016!

Days to the Season: 140
Days to Christmas Day: 182

Today's numbers reveal to us just how close we are now to DOUBLE DIGITS to the Christmas Season.
But we get a bit ahead of ourselves. Before that incredible Milestone, we will reach the TWO-THIRDS marker to the Season, with that point arriving on July 14, just 18 days from today. That's barely over 2 1/2 weeks off.
WOW!!


It was a bit cooler yesterday and dry, after over an inch of rain fell during the night. Today should also be dry and at least reasonably comfortable.
We have started it off at 70 sunny and calm degrees.

wow i can't believe that christmas is now less than 6 months away time is sure flying by

It's definitely very exciting, savingstar!

We popped into Hobby Lobby for a few minutes yesterday, and yup, the holidays have arrived in retail. I saw autumn decor, which didn't surprise me. But behind that, they were stocking Christmas!

Mostly larger items on the shelves, but employees were breaking open boxes and stocking garland while I was there. If it weren't for the summer storm brewing outside, I could have pretended it was December.

It was a lovely little preview of what's to come. Finding it on "half way around the calendar from Christmas" day made it feel like a gift. Next time I'm there, I'll snap a shot or two. Happy Sunday, all.

102°F and working on a car, that does not make you a wimp. We'll hit 32°C (90°F) today, that's like nothing compared to your temperatures, I will not complain. Stay cool over there.

Got all of the errands taken care of and took a nice long walk in the park with Loki before it gets too hot. I plan to veg out this afternoon while hubby is hanging out with friends. But first time for a workout and then some chores.

I stopped into AC Moore today after the bass tournament and all 4th of July was on clearance and fall stuff was already getting put out. The one girl there told me that their storeroom was overflowing already with Christmas stock.

Good afternoon MMC! I'm exhausted! My hubby left to work the beer tent at the festival & I planned to take a nap (door bell permitting) but here I am surfing MMC instead! Ha ha! It's been a beautiful, warm, fun weekend-never a dull moment. But it's so warm I'm in the mood to put on a Christmas movie & (maybe) take a siesta! We are supposed to have storms moving in over the next couple hours - not sure that I will even make it to the picnic today if they do move in. I think I enjoy all the people coming & going from our house this weekend more than I actually enjoy the festival. My 2 nieces & 3 great nephews were here earlier (they parked their golf cart in our back yard to walk to the picnic) - they are so cute! I have Gracie's pool out for her & those boys all got in. Adorable!
I sent out the "Happy Leon Day" picture to all my sisters/nieces & all of Jims sisters/niece yesterday - the only peeps to respond were my sister & 2 of my nieces. Where's the spirit!?

Hello all!
Yesterday we went to a small ComicCon in Louisville, KY. This time only Henry dressed up. He was Plankton from SpongeBob. He won best Prop in the costume contest and won $25.00 and a cool T-shirt. My wife also was able to meet and get autographs from her favorite comic book artist Jae Lee. We also went to a Q&A session with Jae Lee which was really cool.

However, with all good things comes the not as good. Yesterday was very hot here and in the middle of the night I noticed it was hot in the house. I went and looked at the inside unit of the heat pump, and of course it was frozen up.
So, we have a repair man coming, but of course they cannot get here unit late tomorrow. So, we will be using every fan we can come up with. Luckily it is not suppose to be as hot today.

I picked up some Grapefruit Shandy for the weekend, but we haven't touched it yet. May save it for "vacation week"

Good afternoon everyone!
Michelle and I went to church this morning then to Walmart to get groceries. It was a mad house. But we made it home and are relaxing now. I'll go swimming later on when it cools down, weather permitting There is a possibility of storms.

I bought my new ornament for Christmas 2016 on Friday in Hilton Head. I loved it the second I saw it. Michelle says I like it because it looks old. I don't care, I like it.

They are such a blessing!
Harlowe is doing pretty well adjusting! I think having my family here really helped, too. She adores them. We made it to a point yesterday that she didn't need to follow us from room to room, poor thing must have been exhausted.
She is starting to have some health issues again, but I have put a call into her vet. Hope to hear back soon, so we know how to proceed.
