Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good Morning, Second Half Weekenders.

Well, the weekend may be half through but our Season count is well past that point.
In fact, we are nearing the TWO-THIRDS marker!

Days to the Season: 133
Days to Christmas Day: 175

And just how far are we away from that Milestone?
Try 11 DAYS.
(Single Digits from the day after tomorrow!!)


Rain fell overnight and we awoke to soggy conditions this morning.
Quite humid as a result, of course.
Currently, we are at 75 degrees here in the capital city under cloudy skies that promise more rain.

Good Sunday Morning MMC! Happy 4th of July Eve! Woke up early (earlier than normal) for the 2nd straight Sunday. Wondering what's up with that. Would have like to sleep another hour. Oh well today looks to be more relaxing than yesterday was. This evening we plan on going the amusement park and watch some fireworks. They cancelled them Friday due to the rain but they still have a show tonight and Monday. Monday we plan to go in town like every year for them and to have a bbq. First things first though Sunday...time to make the...waffles!

Camp David has been great, today is the last day there, packing up later to head home. Because of my back strain I have been going home to sleep and spending my days there. (good thing it is close by)
Lots of great company and fun, of course lots and lots of food !

Hey friends-a BEAUTIFUL fall like day here with rain and temps no higher than 75. :) Enjoying the windows open and no AC on for the last time for the foreseeable future though...next week, highs are no lower than 95! YIKES!

Think of me and Mr. DYH tomorrow-we both work. Life of a chaplain and health care. We don't get holidays (and I really don't get more than 8 days off total a year paid) so sometimes they're bittersweet while everyone else celebrates. We take good care of folks though, and that's so important. I'll spend my day tomorrow singing patriotic songs with WWII vets. It's an honor to do my job.

Hopefully today's relaxation will be enough to get me through the week! Have a wonderful one folks!!

I WILL be thinking of you. It is bittersweet that you have to work, but what you will be doing tomorrow... I can't think of a more appropriate way to celebrate the Fourth than with those the Greatest Generation who fought abroad to help safeguard our freedom at home. Please give them my heartfelt thanks.
