it´s been way too long since I´ve been here on MMC and I gotta make it a daily routine again.

Good afternoon,
It's my last day of vacation,
, my last vacation until Christmas week. I do have a long weekend off that was meant for the MMC meet-up, even though the meeting was canceled I am not letting work know I don't need that weekend off anymore.
Middle of August is here, which means 8 weeks until my first order of turkeys come in, I will be starting my planning now, only about 13 more weeks until turkey day.
Just resting up on a lazy Sunday, another scorcher outside.

As for so many others, we had a stormy and restless night last night. A really wild storm with awful lightning and thunder a little after 2 a.m. When we got back to sleep after that, the electricity went out around 4:15 and stayed out until nearly 8:30 this morning---no A/C, and the temps in the house got up to around 85F. Shortly after the electricity went out, something started beeping loudly every few seconds. It took a while to track it down to a CO2 detector; the battery went dead from the electricity being off. We had to search for the instruction manual to find out how to disable the beep ... finally got back to sleep around 5:30 a.m. Been feeling really "ugh" from the combo of overnight heat and lack of sleep. Trying to rest up to be in shape for work tomorrow.

We didn't last too long, even with the pool. It was too uncomfortable. I used to be able to handle the heat when I was younger. Now, not so much.

Heat is one thing. This is EXTREME heat. I heard that it's going to be not as terrible this week coming though and by mid-late week it's actually gonna just be warm but not hot with crazy humidity.
Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well, friend~ Har did ok, but I was up half the night myself. I should've texted you!

That happens to me sometimes too. Maggie ends up going back to sleep and I'm left staring at the ceiling. Hope tonight is better for the both of us!
