Good morning everyone. The last few days have been rough as my wife and her family have been very upset. Her uncle was killed in a motorcycle accident last week. Today is the funeral. Hate seeing them hurting. It was my father-in-law's brother and it just breaks my heart to see my FIL so torn up.

Okay, enough sad news! Y'all have a good second to last day of August! Hope your day goes wonderful.

Glad everything turned out okay. Its amazing how fast something can happen like this. A child will give even the most slow parent cat like reflexes..lol. True story!!

How scary for you HMG!! I would have been a wreck too..so happy you were out there. My friend's blind cocker spaniel fell in their pool this summer and she did the same thing as you...jumped in with her clothes on and she was a complete wreck. You think of all the worst things that could happen.

SnowflakeMom, I'm going to ask Maggie's veterinarian to check her vision the next time I'm there. I was thinking that might have had something to do with it. She turned 12 on August 1st, you never know.

Good Morning....just a typical Tuesday of work and the girls start school tomorrow. My oldest daughter made the high school soccer team so her practices start today.

I am happy to report that Leo, my terror I mean terrier is back to his old self since his toenail issues...he greeted me with the TV remote in his mouth. He doesn't chew it but I think that is his way of asking for attention..lol

Har isn't a t.v. watcher? We caught Rollins watching t.v. the other day. I don't even remember what show we had on but he sat there interested for a few minutes.

She loves tv! Watches & listens to it often.
We leave it on for her, when we aren't home.
Especially is fascinated by anything with animals on.
She just doesn't react to animals on cartoons, like she would a real animal

We don't really have too many plans. I think my Dad may come over for a cookout. Otherwise relaxing is on the agenda.

Thank you for your response, I always wanted to ask but didn't want to be too nosey. I don't know how I could adapt to such different comforts. Emma seems so level-headed and able to see the best of both worlds, good for her. Have a great day Holiday!

I agree, it would be very hard to adapt! I just can't even imagine! She has to be the most optimistic person I have ever met! Always smiling, singing, whistling... always happy!

Last week I made a crock pot meal for Mom & Emma - I dropped it off the night before they were going to eat it, so she turned it on in the morning & finished it off that night for supper- that was her 1st time every cooking with a crock pot. She was AMAZED! She thought that could really spoil a person!

Mr.'s golden retriever lost some eyesight when she got older. We were outside with her, and she would walk a few steps, then whimper with a questioning tone ... another few steps, another little whimper. Mr. said, "What's bothering her?" I said, "I think she can't see where you are. Wave your arms and call to her." He did, and she came running. Dogs can "home in" on movement even when their eyesight is weakening. It's part of their hunting instinct.

We're taking our annual Labor Day camping trip. We get an extra night this year because DD doesn't have school on Friday. Can't wait! When we get back on Monday, I hope to get out the little bit of fall decor that I have.
