Merry Morning all,

Mum is now safe and sound back home. It was tough saying good bye but we are both adjusting back into things and looking forward to our next visit hopefully next summer again.

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. Things were somewhat overwhelming for a while so I needed to take some time but you all were never far from my thoughts. It was helpful having Mum around and I am feeling better.

Now it's time to focus on what's to come! Can you believe we are welcoming the ber months tomorrow!!!! We are one month away from my absolute favourite month of the year - October. It is the biggest milestone month for me.

It's all about to start and I look forward to catching up with everyone ad celebrating our favourite time of the year together.

x

So nice to see you Sam, hope you and your family are well!
I'm glad your mum had a safe trip home. Hope you both had a wonderful summer!
Looking forward to seeing here more often ♥
xx

Hope your work week goes well~

How is the employee album coming?

So looking forward to the long weekend here, too!
I've seen almost all of our 100+ employees to invite them to write a message in the album. I've had 5 former employees write something on Facebook. And yesterday I downloaded the trial version of Paint Shop Pro to edit photos and make collages. My boss has an idea he wants to discuss with me but he's being super secretive about it. I'll find out tomorrow when he's in. So it's going fine but I'll take a day during my long weekend to really finalize everything.

When I was young my grandma used to use real pumpkins to make stuff. As I got older I saw she started using canned pumpkin for everything. I asked her why she used canned stuff..She said "you darn fool..a can costs under a dollar and real pumpkin takes all day to cook down!" I tried doing real pumpkin last year..SOoo much labor in it. I stick to canned also..lol
I've also heard that most "supermarket" pumpkins today are bred for size and color rather than flavor, so you're probably better off with the canned stuff, which would be manufactured to use in cooking. Bless your heart for trying it the hard way first!

Good Wednesday Morning MMC! Happy Pines Day! Most importantly Happy 'Bers Day Eve! The last non-Bers day until New Years Day. Let that sink in for a minute. Think about all that we will experience in the next 4 month. It's the stuff people like myself wait for all 8 months long. Not to say I have not appreciated the summer (and spring). Winter not so much but I'm working on that for 2017 :). My boss sent us a really nice email yesterday about how we covered for each other this summer when everyone was in and out on vacation. She told us she wants to take us out to lunch one day soon. It was nice to hear.
Have a great LAST NON-BERS DAY EVERYONE!!!
It makes a BIG difference in the workplace when the management recognizes and rewards the special efforts employees make. I'm in such a place now. But I remember all too well working in a place where my supervisor expected me to make up sick days, complained because employees left at closing time, yet would try to avoid having anyone charge overtime! Being appreciated makes up for a lot of hectic days, and makes you want to do a little extra to help when things are crazy. (I think today's going to be one of those days, BTW ...)

It's hump day! 3 more days of work and then 3 days off! I'm working the afternoon/evening shift, so this morning I'm relaxing for a bit but I'll go in early, I have tons to do. Have a great day everyone!
Hope your days at work go well & quick!! So excited for the 3 day weekend. Have a wonderful day!

OK! Last 'Pines open house of the month. Next week's installment will have a 'ber theme.
Wonder what Carl's entertainment will be this evening?
Only one way to find out. Hope to see as many of you there as possible.
How does Carl spell that---'Ber or "Brrrrrrrr"?
I may bundle up and wear a scarf next week ...

Oh definitely I've been in a similar situation in the past Merry. It makes a big difference. As good of a work ethic as someone can have, after a while at a negative place that always puts you down it just wears on you and makes you not want to do as much. Good luck on one of your crazy days today.

Good Morning, Mid-Week 'Pines Patrons.

(Can it really be 'Pines Day again already?
Wow!)

Can our count really read like this:
Days to the Season: 74
Days to Christmas Day: 116

And can we really be down to only SIXTEEN days to the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW and the beginning of a double-digit count?
If your answer is an immediate "yes!" to these questions, then you are a dedicated regular follower of our Countdown Thread, not to mention a good MMC citizen.
(And we appreciate your support!)

Another fairly nice day here yesterday considering it's still August, although we are monitoring a couple of tropical systems that could brush past our cottage.
Currently, it is sunny and 76 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina, in the heart of Panther country.

Until then, you have a Wonderful Wednesday, Folks!
Thanks crown! Wouldn't miss the party tonight!!!
Hope your cottage (and all the people around) stay safe!!!
Have a great day!

Happy Pinesday, Christmas friends!

I thought I was through with my after-work business for a couple weeks, and I wound up working till 10pm last night. And I have a little more to finish up during my lunch hour today. Whew! Why don't these people just send me a check, and quit making me work for it?!? ;)

Of course, I did get my yard cut, and I cut the grass at my brother's business. He's been in a dispute with the city about the appearance of his business. LOL He doesn't really put much stock into appearances. They actually sent the police chief out to see him. Luckily, I was there at the time, so after Jim blew up, I told him to take a break and I settled things down with chief.

It's not really that serious. We're a small community, so we've known chief since we were kids, and he wasn't really threatening Jim. He was just letting him know that Terry (the mayor of Claxton) wanted him to clean up. Small towns, right? LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Good morning Brad!
Hope you can get your work done at lunch! xx
Good thing you were there to be a peace maker! I understand the small town thing - although our town is so small we have no police or mayor! LOL!
Have a fabulous day!

Thank you!
BTW, the place I spoke of ... I stood it for five months, then left. (It's the only job I ever quit for a reason other than moving.) Less than a year later the company was taken over and most of the employees were let go. Including that tin-Hitler manager. :D

Good morning everyone. Thank you all so much for the prayers and well wishes yesterday. It was a wonderful service! My wife's uncle was a retired firefighter and lots of folks from the force showed up and supported his family. Very moving.

I hope you all have a great last day of August and I'll see y'all at the Pines!

Good morning Ryan!
My nephew is a fire fighter & when Dad passed away his force showed up in uniform & WOW! As you said - very moving! I'm glad it was a nice service.
Continued prayers.
Have a good day! See ya at the Pines!
