Christmas Countdown - 2016

Happy September folks! I know what "the most wonderful time of the year" is for many of us, but this truly is it for me. Christmas is amazing, but to me, it's nothing without the build up of the fall, with the chilling of the weather and the turning of the leaves, with the football game on all weekend, with pumpkins and cinnamon and apples...we've been counting down for a long time some of us, and here we are. I hope it begins incredibly well for us all!

I've got work and more training for my half marathon today. Nothing major. I'm pretty tired-husband was on call and I just haven't slept super great this week. Hoping for an early night tonight!

So true - the build up is the best!

Can't believe the 'Bers are here. Our favorite time of the year. Looking forward to cooler weather, cozy sweaters, comfort food, the decorations. And Christmas right around the corner. I hope everyone enjoys every minute of this beautiful season!

September 1st already !!! Last long weekend of our summer is coming up. Will be spending it at camp David relaxing and enjoying company of family and friends. It has been 20 years since we first set foot in that camp, my eldest and my birthdays were celebrated there. Gonna have to make a cake and celebrate !

Off to work for me in a bit. Had to phone bank and make noise because they sent a payment back when there was more than enough in account to cover it. They tried to charge me $45 for it !!! got it all worked out, now have to call insurance company and give them a stern talking to as $$$ not even supposed to be taken out till 1st of month.

so that is my rant for today.

Our next Milestone Marker?
Well, it's the 100-DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW, and that point will be reached on September 16, just TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!
It's one of three things to look forward to this month:
1) The 100-day Christmas Day Window
2) The 3/4 mark to Christmas Day
3).......well, I think you know!


A bit warmer and more humid yesterday but still not too bad a day to close out the month of August.
Today should be warmer with a good chance of thunderstorms, then much cooler for Friday.
Continuing to monitor the new tropical storm in the Gulf which is supposed to come our way by late tomorrow into Saturday. We were planning a trip to the coast for the Labor Day weekend but may have to cancel or delay.
Right now, we show 75 degrees here.

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Happy September and of course Happy 'Bers! We begin the best 4 months of the year today. As many have stated as much as we all love Christmas time the build to it during the 'Bers and all the fun amazing things we have (i.e. football season, cooler weather, apple pie, Halloween, etc. etc.) lead us to that through these wonderful amazing and best months of the year. Today I'm going to take a long lunch break. We are taking Rollins to our vet for a checkup. Hoping he gets mostly a positive review.

Well thank you! LOL! I have been happy with the countertop so far. Doesn't seem possible they were installed... 2 years ago this month! Crazy how time flies!

Good Morning all....Happy Bers! My b-day was a pretty good day. My daughters made me a cake and they gave me 2 new fall candles. A Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Candies. They smell so good! Just work for me and I have my Christmas music going. Tonight I am going to decorate my mantle for fall and pull out some other decorations. Have a great day!

My bday is later this month and I requested from my girls the Pumpkin Pecan Waffle candle from B&BW, I just love the way it smells. Enjoy the rest of your day listening to your Christmas music.

The 'bers are here, the 'bers are here!!!

Happy 'Bers day everyone. I'm celebrating today's bench mark day by having my first cup of coffee for the season (haven't had coffee since April) and a pumpkin cream cheese muffin from Starbucks.

I do hope that everyone stops to have a mini celebration in honor of these glorious months ahead of us and remember why it is we love this time of year so much. Enjoy everybody!!!

Merry 1st of the Bers everyone. It came in with a roar here last night... thunder,lightning, and downpoured. The 2 cats even hid under the bed.

Oh yikes! Glad you stayed safe!
We had a major downpoor - about 5 minutes b/f my hubby was done mowing....he finished...he was DRENCHED! We didn't have thunder or lightening but Gracie went to her happy spot in the basement at the 1st sound of rain. What a scaredy-cat!

Holiday that is such sad news. Cancer is a terrible disease (I lost my mom to cancer when I was little). Sending warm thoughts to her family and to you as well.

We had one day here that got to 90. Our hottest day of the year it was. I thought of you all that day. You all would have laughed your heads off at me as I was panting and sweating and barely able to move ! The next day it went right back down to 60s LOL ...probably for the best LOL

Some years we don't get a lot of 90+ days. This year we've had probably 15 or so. It has been a pretty hot summer. I look forward to highs in the 60s eventually!

I wait all year for this too Merry. Kind of look at it as 8 months building to the best 4. Love many things in the first 8 but they don't compare to these 4. Have a great September 1!
