short shift at work today, only 5 hours.
consulting on a wedding cake tomorrow afternoon, taking mom to have her cast off tomorrow morning.
They are being very noisy chopping up all my beautiful trees.

Good morning!
The first Monday of October
Time travels to fast, I'm feeling a bit stressed....
I want it to slow down now!
I seriously feel this like a pain in my gut!

I think October is the finest month of the year
I've been sick for 4-5 weeks, but feeling much better now
So I hope I can enjoy this month!
Didn't see much of September....

Here it's cold today with 32F. Icy roads and fog.
I guess we have to put some winter tire on your car pretty soon

A chilly & lovely morning~We are going to have a warm fall day, with a high of 70 degrees. Last one, I believe. By the end of the week, our highs will be in the 50's. Wishing you a blessed start to your week! Have a wonderful day~

It's going to be cloudy today with a high of 72 degrees. Typical day for me, I have errands and I'll be working on some chores around the house. I'm going to Target later this morning. I think I better start stocking up on Halloween candy, haven't bought any yet. I may stop at the gardening center to pick up mums at well. That's about it for me.

That's exactly how I was looking at it on Friday Festive...how it just makes me appreciate this coming Friday so much more and realize how lucky I am to have 50 out of 52 weekends off this year!

Winter is coming !

At school, the children will have various harvest themed activities like songs, stories, learn the importance of giving, being thankful and growing crops etc.

They will be gathering vegetables from their allotments and collecting canned food to give to a couple of the local shelters. They also put on a little Harvest pageant and parents are invited to a harvest gathering at the local church. Donations from the gathering this year will go to families in Ethiopia so they can acquire donkeys to transport food and water.

My youngest also has a craft afternoon where I am invited to do craft with him Should be fun.

We usually have about 20 people and we put our tree up on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

So exciting! You'll have to keep us posted what's on your menu!
I like to put up my tree the week/end before Thanksgiving. I'll see if anyone offers to host Thanksgiving, if not I will but then I'll have to wait until Thanksgiving weekend to put my tree up.

I'd like to see that kind of celebration here ... a time to slow down from the summer, appreciate the autumn, and publicly get our thoughts pointed toward Thanksgiving and Christmas. MMC people do that, because we're celebratory people, but it would be nice to see a public expression of harvest-time spirit.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

We had a long, busy weekend. I was up at daylight Saturday morning, working on my part-time business. It was 50°F!! I loved it! Of course, it's not that cool now, but it was a nice taste of things to come. Elizabeth had to be at dance later that morning, then Jacob's band had a gig.

His band played at a Turpentine Festival. They had turpentine distilling demonstrations, live music, crafts vendors, etc. It was a lot of fun!

Yesterday was Homecoming at church, and we had a huge crowd, and enough food for two crowds that size!
