Not too much going on here today, I have a couple of errands to run and then I'll be working on my daily chores. I'll be heading to my parents house this afternoon for a visit, they just got home from their place in Pennsylvania. That's about it for me. Harlowe & I had a glorious night of sleep!
And we are having a lovely Fall day~woke up to 40 degrees, and it hasn't made it past 51 degrees =] That wind is sharp!
A big change from 70 degrees yesterday.
I baked some apple cider bread this morning, then made a batch of beer cheese soup this afternoon. Once the sun came out, we decided to take a Fall drive & stop at the Potting Shed for some more mums, pumpkins, Indian corn, and gourds. The deck and yard look festive! I will have to remember to take the mums in tonight, though, we are expecting our first frost. Brrr!
I'm kind of excited to turn on the fireplace for the first real time though

Happy Milestone Day, MMC!!!! It was a hot one here but we headed to our town's fall festival anyways. I was kinda disappointed though. The guy I normally buy Santa's from wasn't there and the Amish weren't there either. So no Santa's, fried pies, or gobs for me. The hospital didn't have a booth this year either. They always gave out really nice reusable shopping bags. I did score an insulated one from a dentist though, along with 13 pens, 3 pencils, hand sanitizer, a chip clip, 2 plastic cups, and 3 suckers. Not bad for an afternoon of walking around. I also got sworn in as a junior fireman with my nieces. They chickened out when I wanted to do the helicopter ride though. I hope everyone is having a Great Day!!!

Have fun as the darkness brings an end to this festive Friday for you made582. Sounds like a nice haul, so did you do the "chopper" ride? Either way, have a nice long relaxing weekend.

Happy Milestone Day, everyone!

I had quite a busy morning and afternoon teaching, so I did not have any time to visit throughout the day. After teaching, Kim and Simon picked me up at Russell and we drove to Cornwall to visit her family for Thanksgiving. I'm excited for a delicious meal on Sunday... and, of course, seeing her family should be fun, too!

Crazy to believe we've turned the corner and are beginning to accelerate into the homestretch toward the Christmas Season. Some, in fact, might say that we're ready to begin this "kick" toward the Season in less than a week when we reach exactly one week until the Christmas Season. What a magical moment that will be, too, next month when we countdown in realtime... I think I am getting too excited too early!

I hope everyone has been enjoying their Friday. It's a holiday/long weekend. Let's enjoy it!

Good evening Brent. Bringing illumination to young minds? Very noble of you and I'm sure fortunate for each of them. Always nice to end the day with a good meal and even better company. Never to early to get excited over Christmas (as those hearing me sing Christmas songs at work will tell you). I hope the rest of your Friday went well and enjoy this 3 day weekend.

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday!!!! What a beautiful day!! Lots of sunshine & warm temps this morning! We need to enjoy today to the fullest b/c tomorrow the high is 65! Not that 65 is cold, but compared to 81, it's a big change!

I took Gracie to her appointment today. She is such a trooper. They did the test with no problems from her - she barely flinched! I had them look at her ears & they put a week long slow release antibiotic in them. They were just a little red/irritated. So she's back home & crazy as ever - waiting for her mama to get home from work so she can go see her friends at the lake!!

We went to see Sully last night - what an excellent movie!! We all loved it!

Everyone, have a fantastic FRIDAY!!! I'm looking forward to the 3 day weekend...WOOP!

Awww what a sweet girl, going to the vet like a champ. Loki literally trembles when we go to the vet and he wants to be held non-stop. But the minute we're done he goes nuts. Did they tell you how long you have to wait for the test results? Here's hoping for positive results. Have a great 3-day weekend Holiday

Happy Friday!
Happily, our office is closed Monday for Columbus Day, so I'll have a lovely 3-day weekend. Cross you fingers ... maybe I'll get out a little early today.

Last year about this time, on a Friday, one of my co-workers brought in a huge batch of homemade meatballs and the fixings for meatball subs at lunchtime. It was such a huge success, they're having the second annual "Fall Ball" today. I missed the first one because Mr. and I were out of town. So I'm looking forward to seeing if those meatballs are all they're cracked up to be!

"Fall ball", what a brilliant idea! I'm going to bring the idea into work for our social fund. Hope you enjoyed the meatballs.

Yes, Folks. We have arrived --- at the NINETY PERCENT/HOME STRETCH marker to the Season.
(And you know that we will be at a quick downhill pace from here on to the start of Christmas Season 2016, November 13!)

Been watching Hurricane Matthew's relentless passage close to the east coast of Florida for most of the day yesterday and this morning.
(We have relatives down there who wisely evacuated!)
The core of the storm stayed offshore and the winds are down a bit. The Weather Channel indicates much less of an impact than predicted. Good News!
We just have light rain here this morning, which is supposed to continue tomorrow.
Right now, we show 69 degrees and our rain guage shows .2 inch fell last night.

A very pleasant evening all. Interesting day for me (even though most will see this tomorrow). I was exhausted when I got home, so went right to bed with plans on getting up around 3PM. That wound up being nearly 6PM. Guess I needed it...
I have the next three off. Original plans are to head down to the Omaha Zoo tomorrow, but my better half is slightly under the weather, so I'll play it by ear. After all the zoo will still be there. If not, I have a few projects around the home for tomorrow, to include some Halloween decorating.
Currently 53 degrees here in the great mid-west. Sunny for the next three days with highs from the lower 60's to the low 70's. Should make for a restful (if not productive) weekend.
For tonight, I plan on getting in a few extra hours, though not right now. I hope all of my MMC friends had a nice Friday and will find this long weekend to be filled with memorable moments.
Goodnight to one and all. Have a good night's sleep and some restful dreams.

Good morning Festive. Thank you for your interest. Like you I did rise a bit earlier than I had planned, but I also slept longer on Friday as well, so I guess they balance out.
Pleased to hear about the improvements in his health. My daughter had a mixture of good and bad. At first they thought she might have a blood clot, this was not the case thankfully. However, she appears to be type 2 diabetic. Apparently something she got passed down through her genetics from her father's side. Guess i should point out that I would be her step-dad, but from the way her real father treated her over the years, she has come to think of me as her "actual" father.
Anyway, she has to see a dietician concerning how her food intake needs to change and I guess she now has to take a pill, fortunately she is not on insulin shots. I will wake Connie in an hour or so to see if she is better. If not, we will relax most of this day and I will get a few chores done.
Enjoy your quiet time, your cozy afternoon and your movie.
