That is sad to hear, CGYager.

I see life as like an hourglass. The lower globe is clear but the upper one is opaque. We can see all the grains of our past lives but have no idea how much remains in the upper globe.
Any grain that passes through the neck of the present could be our last, or there could be many more grains left to come. We just don't know.
Enjoy every moment......and take good care of your fagile hourglass!

We've got an early wake up call in the morning and it was a very busy day today. I doubt I'll make it to 12 as I can barely keep my eyes open now but I'm here now!

Let's get this season started!!!

I hear you; I have to head over to see my folks tomorrow. Mom is doing a bit better, but there's a hospital bed in the living room until she can safely climb the stairs again. She's a trooper though and will make it; she told me her incentive is to simply sleep next to my dad like she's done most of her married life. I love their bond.

Sadly, we lost my Mom on September 17 so this will be a tough Christmas. We'll perservere though cause she'd be mad if we didn't but I sure miss her!

A man ahead of me at the checkout in the grocery store hadn't packed his stuff yet when the young lady was adding my things to the conveyor belt, I noticed a big jar of ribbon candy. I did a double-take because I don't buy candy and then I made a funny and said, "Hey, buddy - how about paying it forward and passing that jar my way - we can even tape it." The clerk, the man and the woman (who resembled Catherine O'Hara) laughed. I didn't get the ribbon candy. I just realized what a symbol of Christmas it is for me since my Great Aunts and a few neighbours used to have dishes full of the stuff over the holidays.

I had the scare, thankfully mom pulled through another narrow escape. I still pray for your family Jay.

We lost our mother back in 2005 and our father in February of 2014. The pain goes away eventually, but a small scar always remains.

My husband often feels so down and disconnected during the holidays because he didn't really celebrate them when he was little and he misses his parents so much that it hurts. I never had the chance to meet them so his loss of their ability just to sit down and have a chat leaves him feeling sad. I'm glad he brings them up in conversation as much as he does because it let's me know where his mind is at. Being around my Christmas enthusiastic family hasn't been easy for him. He's used to it now, I suppose.

Good evening ,
It was an extremely busy day, we had sold over 150 turkeys before I left this afternoon. Feeling very tired and sore.
I won't be making it until midnight to greet the season.

Goodnight, everyone

I never got my turkey on the Canadian Thanksgiving, I spent it at the hospital with my husband instead. My mom missed out on her turkey dinner as well so we decided to celebrate the American Thanksgiving so we can have turkey dinner and give thanks.

Folks, l can't make it! I love that this goes on year after year and love the love i feel for you! Merriest of Christmas seasons to all, and see ya very soon!!!
