Good morning MMC! Merry Monday! What a weekend! My brother from Cape Cod flew in Saturday morning & surprised us! He called my sis & said he was in PA & would need picked up at the airport in a couple hours. SO FUN!! I went shopping with the girls Saturday morning, then out for lunch. Then to my future nieces bridal shower...watched the Buckeyes then off to my nieces for an impromptu party with the family. Yesterday my brother took lots of nieces/nephews up for plane rides & my other brother had everybody over for a cook out, including my cousins who are cleaning out my uncles house which is in the same neighborhood as my mom & brother (My uncle is in a nursing home & my nephew/wife are going to rent his house) - what a fun house full! This morning my Cape Cod brother, mom & I took off to pick up Emma - She was SO SURPRISED to see him! We then dropped him off at the airport on the way home & he had to head back! Always sad to say goodbye, but he'll be back in 3 weeks for my nephews wedding! :) 2 of my sisters, my brother, SIL & 2 of their grandkids were there this morning to see him off. What a fun morning - it was hard to come to work...but here I am! And now I have some catching up to do both at work & here on MMC! Looking forward to reading the last special posts!!

Everyone, have a GREAT Monday!

@Festive Spirit This may already be posted here or you may have already seen this but I thought of you & laughed so hard when I saw this on FB over the weekend.

How did Jacob do at the gig with the country singer and with his univeristy group? It's awesome how he really is growing as a musician and having all these new opportunities. Sounds like your Nancy is just like my David: they'll let us wander the Christmas aisles as much as we like. Have a great week coming up Bradmac.
It's funny you ask. They drove over 4 hours to get to the place, only to find out that country music is not really welcome there. It was more punk-rock LOL! So, they went out to eat, then drove home. Ah well.

The University Singers did an AWESOME job yesterday, though! I was so impressed!

Thanks for asking, Martine!

You all are so kind and encouraging. It's made me smile to read all of your posts today. SO glad to be a part of the MMC community!

I am about to crash-running my very first HALF MARATHON tomorrow morning in 32 degree (0 degrees C!!!) weather! WOOOO!

Have a wonderful evening dear Christmas ones!
Hope the marathon went well & you had fun!!!

Thank you so much ~
I ended up meeting my husband at the dealer this afternoon, we should have the new car early next week. We've been buying cars from this particular dealer for years so thankfully it went smoothly.
Martine I drive the Lincoln MKX, it's their crossover model. I used to have a big SUV but I scaled down after the girls started driving. The crossover is a good happy medium.
Congrats on the new car HMG! Hope you love it!

Hope everyone had an awesome Friday! Today was a pretty good day, the high was about 62 so not too bad at all. My Comp II class got cancelled so I got to come home from class early and relax. My buddies I have a ton of extra meal plan money and theres a steakhouse on campus so we went there for lunch! After lunch I took a huge nap (what else would you expect from a college kid). No idea what we will do tonight, but I definetly need to get to the gym. Probably gonna FaceTime my girlfriend as she is four hours away. Well hope everyone had an awesome day and If i dont check back in soon, a good weekend!
Hope you had a great weekend!!

Lord have mercy - I just realized I have 620 messages to read to catch up from the weekend!

Good morning ~
Happy Saturday!
It's going to be sunny today with a high of 50, we're currently at 37 degrees. I've been awake for awhile, Maggie didn't sleep well last night. Just relaxing now with a cup of coffee and watching the news. I have to get moving soon and start breakfast, my youngest has an early class on Saturdays. I plan on going food shopping this morning. I also need to call the veterinarian to make an appointment for my cat Bella. She was just there recently because of her allergies but doesn't seem to have gotten much relief. Hopefully they can squeeze her in today. Other than that I'll be working on the laundry. And we have plans to go out for dinner later this evening with my BIL & SIL, I'm looking forward to that. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful weekend <3

Prayers for Maggie & Bella - and you! Hope you are all doing well now!

Special Post (One more day!!!)

There are many words we can use to describe the Christmas Season. I, for one, prefer to rely heavily on a few. The feelings anticipation I experience all year when thinking about Christmas is absolutely incomparable to anything else.

The feelings of joy and excitement that overcome me when I walk into a store and see my first Christmas item or ornament, or put up my first Christmas decoration while listening to Christmas music in my home have such a heartwarming, yet teary-eyed feeling of anticipation.

Although we have a safe haven here at My Merry Christmas, the “real world” often looks at me sideways due to my fascination with all things Christmas. I don’t mind that at all. Christmas, to me, is an escape from the “real world.” Christmas lets me believe that there is still a place for hope, pure joy, peace, and innocence – we just have to believe.

Despite all the hardships and despair that may be going on in various places of the world, I believe it is something we can overcome. I believe in the Spirit of the Season, and I believe that it can unite everyone regardless of their beliefs.

I believe in a Season that we countdown to all year. I believe in a Season that can produce six weeks of happiness. I believe in a Season that heightens our innocence of yesteryear. Most of all, I believe in a Season of peace.

Speaking of believe, Kim’s six-year-old nephew was told by his older (about 10 years old) cousin this summer that there was “no Santa Claus.” Six years old, can you believe it? Needless to say, Kim, myself, and her family were both shocked and appalled at the news. We all quickly reassured him that there is, indeed, a Santa Claus.

“What about all the cookies, I suppose parents eat them, too?” to quote Buddy the Elf. Kim’s nephew took a stand. He agreed. No Santa? There is a Santa. And the best part about this? His two older brothers, who will be 10 in about two weeks, know the truth, but they also reassured him that Santa is real.

In my mind, everything can happen if you just believe. I believe in the magic of the Season, and I believe that there is no other time of year like Christmas. I believe that being able to spend a bond of Christmas with all of you throughout these years – a total of seven years for some – has truly made me a better person.

I believe that is nearly time to turn on the Christmas music. I believe that is nearly time to decorate. I believe the Christmas Season is only one day away. I believe we will be able to say those two magical words to ring in the Christmas Season very shortly. I look forward to saying the two magical words and counting down with you all tonight, in real time.

The Christmas Season is one day away...

Very nice! Thank you Brent!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Staying home with the girls today as the babysitter ended up sick. It has been pretty fun as we have just played, now it is time for lunch and picking up. Before i do that, I'm going to make my grocery list for Thanksgiving food

Nothing like an unexpected day off.

Love going to year-round Christmas stores, there's something extra magical there. Will look for the super moon tonight, it's supposed to be extra bright. Have a great week Meceka!

Thank you, Martine!
I hope you get a good view of the moon!

Good Morning Meceka. One of these days I want to get up to Bronner's in Frankenmuth. I've seen photos and I really, really want to visit it.
Enjoy the week and this special time of year...

Good afternoon, CGYager!
I hope you get to Bronner's ~ it's a great place to spend hours in soaking up the atmosphere and people watching!!

My condolences to you on the loss of your co-worker. I will keep her family/friends in my prayers.

Hope the rest of your week is merry!

Indeed I am; thanks DYHWIH. I have merry thoughts every day and often imagined myself slipping by to share them and then the day would get away from me and the connection to Christmas message wound up remaining in my head. My parents and my husband's health is improving so the demands for my time and attention are less than they were which gives me more time to jump aboard the MMC merry train. This place is good medicine, that's for certain.

WOW! Did the pretty tree come with that adorable cat? I love when people have enough trees and ornaments to create theme type trees.

I received the Nonesuch Dickens Book collection some years ago and love reading the stories. A Christmas Carol is one of the few films I will watch that is remade over and over again by different casts and rarely tire of it. The Alastair Sim, Muppets, Scrooged (although no formal credit was given) and Jim Carrey's are the ones I like most.

I dream about Christmas related things all the time and WELCOME them. It's especially fun during the "off season". A few times I've had frustrating dreams where I've lost track of time and I'm trying to get to a relatives house for Christmas Dinner and other events keep popping up that need my attention and then I remember I'm on a mission for turkey and company; seems like a never-ending loop of worry that I'm missing celebrating Christmas.
Wonder if that's why I can't sleep on Christmas Eve.

Well, I just finished my fitness routine at the gym and it's time to get down to work.-surprise-Have a great day and a wonderful week my merry friends!

I'm glad everyone is getting better ~ will keep praying for them!
Have a merry week, Auntie!

Sadly, we lost my Mom on September 17 so this will be a tough Christmas. We'll perservere though cause she'd be mad if we didn't but I sure miss her!

I'm so sorry, JayIsh ~ will keep you and your family in my prayers. (((HUGS)))

Merriest of greetings y'all!

Please excuse my unforgivable absence. Many times when I should surely have been here spreading cheer and catching up with your plans, memories and every day conversations; I found myself unable to calm my mind long enough to simply enjoy reading and posting.

It's been a challenging year for me. So much going on and then when I found I had a bit of time to spare, I was so exhausted I would just relax with the cat on the sofa or catch up when I could with a few members on FB. You don't have to think much on Facebook.

I'm pleased that the across the creek neighbours turned their lights on last Tuesday and I found Eggnog at the grocery store today to remind me that the season is upon us and it's time to make merry with my festive chums.

I know a few of you have lost loved ones, family members, pets and others have welcomed new babies and grandchildren into your lives; sorry I wasn't here for you.

Not an evening slips by when I don't extend special wishes and prayers for the members here, some of those thoughts are generic while others are quite direct and purposeful when I know you're searching for comfort through your sadness and struggles.

On a happy note, I'm still as much of a Christmas Wacko as I ever was it's just that I haven't been in the right frame of mind to stay connected. I'm fine; just busy with work and life.

I shall endeavour to pop around this merry way more often as we approach Christmas with glad hearts and perfect strangers who have become friends through our shared joys of all things Christmas.

Keep a merry thought in your head,

Nice to see you AMD!!! I hope life slows down enough for you that you can visit us more often!!! I'm glad to hear you are doing fine, we missed you around here, you Christmas wacko! :D :p
Hope you are having a great Monday!
