Hi everyone,

I hope You had a great day today, it was a nice stay at my brother´s place....we are happy to be back with Stripey and Spike.
I just spend a few minutes in front of the notebook and wrote three job applications. the job i got right now sucks....boring, no future....I want to do something else!!!

now we are watching a show that has three people coming in who have phobias from certain animals....usually it´s insects and stuff....today it´s a woman who is afraid of cats and another one who has a dog phobia....I feel bad for these women, because nobody understands them....and prolly ridicules them.

Good Sunday morning! My last day of vacation, it just flew by. I could have used another week to be truthfull, but nothing I can do about that. Today I have to go change cell phones, my old one is becoming unresponsive. I hold on to electronics for as long as possible, it's an iPhone 4s to give you an idea. Other than that, no other outings, the plan is to just relax at home. It's going to be a much cooler day today before it gets downright cold tomorrow. Hoping everyone will have a great day!
Don't feel bad. My iPhone is a 5. And our computer is more than six years old and slowing down badly. New electronics are so expensive, and they become obsolete so fast.

How's your Sunday? Getting ready and excited for Thanksgiving?

Today's cookie baking made up for yesterday's big fail. The chocolate chip cookies came out beautifully for the office Thanksgiving tomorrow (thank goodness). I used Silpat liners for the first time instead of parchment, and they worked well. I need another one to roll out sugar cookies on.

Did some more sneaky online shopping for Mr. today. Almost done! A few more gifts to get yet.

Your place must have smelled wonderful after that baking. I've used silpat before but never thought to use it to roll out dough. That would mean less flour to keep the dough from sticking to the counter as you roll it. If I do roll-out cookies for Christmas, I'll keep that idea in mind. Yeah I've done a bit of online shopping for my husband as well, but still not done. Hope you'll enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

I have never baked Christmas cookies before and I think I might try it this year. Any suggestion?
You can't go wrong with good old basic chocolate chip cookies. The recipe on the Nestle Morsels bag is the one I use. Many drop cookie recipes are similar. Cut-out sugar cookies are a bit more difficult.

Sure hope Maggie is feeling better; always such a worry when our furfriends are sick and we feel helpless. O'Malley has only given us 3 scares in his nearly 12 years of life. He's a big boy, yet healthy.
How nice that you were surprised with a Keepsake ornament for no special reason when it's so close to Christmas. My dad would prefer if we simply picked up the odd thing here and there for each other just because we happened upon something we think the other person would enjoy not because of a date on the calendar.

Maggie is doing much better today, thank you so much. I'm glad to hear O'Malley is in good health. Maggie is 12 years old as well. I cherish every day I have with her. We are blessed to have these furbabies!
Yes, the ornament was a pleasant surprise. I agree with your Dad, it's the thought that counts. Makes it extra special :)

Good evening,

Slow day at MMC today, I only had 23 posts to catch up on since last night.
Today was probably the last big day for turkeys, and I am feeling it. I put out at least 75 cases of turkeys. I am tired and very achey.
I work again tomorrow and then have Tuesday off.
20 more days until we go to NYC, I am starting to get excited. I cannot wait to see the big tree at Rockefeller Center.
We got a little bit of snow, but nothing stuck to the ground, 50 miles west of us got 10 inches today.

I hope you all had a great day

Goodnight, everyone

Bake, Bake, clean, clean. . . .until Thanksgiving Day. Things are getting very busy here. The china box was delivered today, for the Thanksgiving Day pig roast. I really hope my husband, brother and cousins can really roast this pig or it’s McDonalds for us all. :0) Happy Thanksgiving! Gobble till you wobble :o)

Thanks for the advice! To make the cookies more Christmas like, I might puts some wallnuts in the cookies.

Hi everybody! I made it home safe. Now I have 10 days off!!! Something exciting about Christmas for me is that I live in the Christmas Capitol of Texas!! So it is absolutely amazing here for the season!! I am going to the Tree Lighting downtown Monday! They will turn all the lights on in the city that night too. It's is going to be so awesome. Every building and sign and post are decorated! The stores go Christmas themed, it's amazing!!
A Magical Monday to you Matt and I'm so pleased you are able to be home for this Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy your time and let those memories fill your heart and mind for the days ahead. The same thing happens here in Sioux Falls, only we do it the Saturday after Thanksgiving with a "Festival of Lights" parade.

Good Morning ... Well we are in the home stretch for Thanksgiving :) heading to the grocery store this weekend to get the rest of the goodies needed for Thanksgiving. This afternoon we are pulling down the outside Christmas decorations from the attic so we can test the lights and make sure everything is ready to out up next weekend. Plus with all the new stuff we bought last year after Christmas we need too figure out our game plan for decorating this year.

All week I have noticed more and more houses with Christmas lights being strung up. Already saw a couple house fully decorated lit up the other night. Radio stations here flipped over to Christmas music the other day too ...
Happy Monday Minta. Doing much of the same myself this week. The weather here will be between low forties and upper thirties. So with the ground not being frozen, I will probably let old "Tom Turkey" stay in the yard until Friday.
However, I will still string some of the house lights in the next couple of days and get them ready to go.
Have a great week...

Hello everyone!
Finally some winter weather! Yesterday it was over 70 degrees, today it is in the 30s with snow showers! I am sitting here with a fire going, candles glowing and watching the old Solid Gold Christmas from 1982! Perfect Saturday!!!!

I hope everyone is having a great day!
Greetings ITeach and welcome to another week. We have had our first snow. It hit on Friday with about 4-5" falling. The temp since has been low enough that most is still with us, but the next few days in the upper 30s to low 40s should get rid of most of it.
Fireplace is downstairs in the portion of the house I gave to my daughter, so I do not get to enjoy it, but I do have a nice DVD Fireplace...:)
Have a really good week...

A Magical Monday to you Prancer. It was a long week, but now I am hoping for things to settle down a bit and get myself ready for the next few days (decorating included). Enjoy the day and the time ahead and of course the fun you will have putting up the tree with all the family there.

Hello MMC friends,
I always love reading the threads at this time of year to see what everybody's up to !

I have my humble but beautiful little Christmas tree up now, it's so relaxing to watch the blinking lights...

Wishing everybody a fantastic weekend

ms Rose xo
Happy Monday to you MsRose. I know we are all so glad that you are with us during this most magical season of the year. When I was in the barracks (a long time ago), I always had a tree there as well. It may have only been 3' tall, but considering what it meant to me, it might as well have been a redwood.
Have a fabulous day and week...

I found an incredible shop with amazing rare merry treasures with a rustic flair. I fell in love with everything I saw. Only left with 4 items, but I'll be back once I figure out which ones will go to which person on my list.
Printed my photos for my Christmas cards and picked up stamps; hopefully I'll get started on those tomorrow, but surely next weekend.
Settling down with O'Malley - looking for a Christmas movie to watch.
Had my best meatloaf ever tonight for dinner with purple sweet potatoes and corn. MMMM.
It's raining here now and we're expecting snow tomorrow.
I'll give it another week or two and then take an evening drive to grab some outdoor decoration shots.

Stay jolly! -reindeer-
Greetings Auntie. It would be nice if we had some type of Christmas shop here, even if only for the season. I still visit places like Michael's and Hobby Lobby (to name a few) and see what they have each year. The biggest problem I find is that I already have so much in the way of decorations, that I have to kind of rotate what I put up each year.
Speaking about meatloaf, I tried a little something different and tossed in some stuffing instead of all the other ingredients (along with an egg and a little milk)... it was fantastic.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving week...

I hope you're having a Christmas-seasony day!

It has been a busy Saturday. The piano tuner was here, so my little spinet is now up to Christmas pitch! Hooray! Then had to do some housework, then out to get my hair cut, then to the garden center for some C7 light strings and other sundries (and another look around!), then back home, where we met our neighbor who is going to rebuild our deck for us, then we got ready to go out for some lunch ... just then one of my back crowns popped out, so I had to call my dentist and arrange to see her first thing Monday to stick it back in ... then out to lunch, then shopping at various stores, then back home. I'm now trying to make some Baby Ruth cookies for our office Thanksgiving, which is Monday, but they aren't turning out very well. I may have to bake some chocolate chip cookies tomorrow to have something good enough to take in. I KNOW I can make chocolate chip cookies successfully. Whew!

Update: The Baby Ruth cookies are a fail ... big blobs of baked, melted caramel oozed out of the cookies and made them very ugly and unevenly baked. So I pre-measured the dry ingredients for a big batch of chocolate chip cookies, and I'll tackle those tomorrow. Time to sit down for a while.
Happy Monday Merry. I trust the Chocolate Chip ones came out perfectly. Been a very busy last week for me and that along with a minor cold has slowed me down a bit, but hopefully that is on the way out. I am off until Friday mid-shift. And Wal-Mart does not do anything for the holiday anyway, and so I am not missing anything.
Hope you had a relaxing Sunday...
