It's so funny. I can't imagine how someone would react if they knew I was still basically in full Christmas mode right now. It's morning, I'm about to get ready to go to work, and here I am listening to the last bits of Sounds of the Season Holiday, drinking my coffee, and just reminiscing at the fact that exactly two weeks ago it was Christmas morning. Last night I went through a lot of my DVR recordings from December and sort of watched a medley of some of my favorite scenes and music in various Christmas movies. And as I go into work a little bit later I'm sure Christmas is about the last thing on everyone's mind, yet here I am about to walk in there and in my own head and home I've just finished a very active Christmas celebration. And not a single person would be the wiser. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I care in the least what others think, that's not the point of this post, it's just crazy to me to think how you never really truly know what's going on in someone else's mind.

This first week or two of January is still so close to it having recently been the holidays that I just can't quite get it out of my head. I'm in that nostalgic state where I try to remember exactly what I was doing at various points during the season and try to somewhat recreate those moments in my home, if only briefly, to remember what it was like throughout December.

It's so funny when you're having a conversation with someone and you refer to something about "The Holidays", but in your mind what you're referring to is something in Sept, Oct, early Nov, or even early January for that matter, and you get that semi confused look from the person you're talking to as they're not quite sure why you mentioned the holidays. Sometimes I'll take the time to explain, sometimes I won't. Or like even with friends or something during those times I mentioned, sometimes I'll want to stay in and do my own thing, reason being that it's, of course, "The Holidays", but in most people's minds it totally isn't, so I kind of have to come up with a different excuse as to why I can't go out.

So at some point I’ll stop gushing over all the reasons discovering MMC was one of the best things to happen over the holiday season. Or maybe I won’t. But reading this post it was like someone pulled my thoughts out and dictated them word for word. I’ve only been on the site for a few weeks now, but already feel such a sense of community. And what an impact it’s had on the PCBs. Most years, just wallow in silence, but reading and participating on the forum have done wonders to turn them into excitement for the coming season.

Just wanted to say while some may post here to alleviate their own thoughts or feelings about something, it may be helping others more than you know.

Enough of the preachiness, just want to again express my gratitude for this environment. Thanks everyone.

Here we go with todays tally...wait for it!

Not sure how to "quote a thread"
@SydneyBeems : To quote a single post, click Reply at the bottom corner of the post. A window will open with the quote already in it, and you can add your reply above or below it.

To quote multiple posts, click +Quote at the bottom corner of each post you want to quote. (You'll see it turn into -Quote.) When you're ready to reply, go to the "Write your reply" box at the bottom of the page and click the Insert Quotes button at the bottom corner of the box. A window will open allowing you to choose which quotes you want to insert into your reply. Then you can add your reply above or below it.

(I hope that's a little clearer than mud ... )

You will find people here that like Christmas, some that love Christmas, some that live for Christmas. Most enjoy all the holidays, but not everyone is the same which is good because it creates a ton of differing views and posts.

Like most, back to the first full 5 day work week for 2017. Even though I did work last week, feels in some way like the first real return since I've stretched the holidays out as long as possible (still am, so guess I shouldn't speak in past tense). Plus, all the trouble makers are back in the office today. :) Onward to the 2017 countdown!!
I agree, it does feel like the real "back to work" - for the long haul!! LOL! Hope your week goes great!

Yeah as soon as I picked him up and brought him he licked me lol. Guess he's saying thanks for saving me from the cold. I can't imagine poor animals that are left out for long in that weather.
So cute!! And I agree - makes me sad to think about animals left out in the cold. Our puppies are some pretty lucky spoiled creatures! :) (as they should be)

Just placed my order with a lady that makes quilted tree skirts. Glad I did it now..I ordered 3 of them and they wont be done till Sept.1st.
-santa dance-
How exciting!! AND WOW!!!! September!!!!

Good afternoon ... Not much going on today besides work. Really to cold to do anything .. so I see tonight sitting and relaxing. Even doing a real easy dinner, grill cheese and soup :)

Oh well I think I am going to go grab another cup of coffee before my lunch break is over.

Have a great day!
Stay warm!!! We had some pretty sunshine this morning but now the clouds have taken over!!
I love grilled cheese!! :) My friend just shared this video with me yesterday - so excited to try this!!

Good afternoon everyone....we have an outage in my part of CT with internet and phone. We just got it back a few hours ago so I am trying to catch up on work. It is so cold out there today but they say we may get into the 50's by Wednesday. I will take that for sure!! We had our one snowstorm so I am ready to bring on spring...lol...a little too early I know! This is my first full week in a while and we have Monday off for MLK so it will be nice to have another long weekend.
Hope you all have a great day!

Tonight was the service for Mike's cousin. I pray no one ever has to endure what they have. A cause of death is known but now they need to know why she did it and how she knew what to do. It was very sad especially seeing all her friends from cheerleading. I just pray her friends never feel the way she felt. What's most upsetting is that they couldn't get an appt for her until after the holidays due to things being booked or closed.
How heartbreaking....I am keeping your family in my prayers.

Good morning and Happy Monday!
It's going to be a pretty busy day for me. My youngest has off and we scheduled a couple of doctor appointments. I don't usually like to schedule more than one appointment in the same day but she has off so she figured we'd cram it all in. So I'll be in and out today, I'm going to take a ride with her to keep her company and pay the co-pays lol. I'll be working on my daily chores in between. Dinner will be escarole and bean soup with tortellini. I'll pick a pizza up to go with it, I know I've mentioned before that the girls think soup isn't "real food" That's about it for me. Hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!!!
Have a great day HMG! Stay warm! Dinner sounds so good!

Its all she does now is tree skirts. I am doing some Laser cutting for her husband so he had to kinda talk her into my order. If I waited until Feb. she couldnt have done them until next year. 2 skirts are 5' across and the 3rd is for my den and it is 6' across.
I'm sure they will be beautiful & I hope you will be sharing pictures! :)

Howdy All,

Full disclosure:
I'm watching Elf and sipping candy cane tea as I work. That is all ... hope all is well, happy 2017.
