I have been reading that they are not happy in Brooklyn, and they have an escape clause I believe after next season. So, who knows what is going on behind the scenes.

I heard rumors about a new arena being built for the team. I would love to see them return to the Nassau Coliseum, it was completely renovated and will reopen in April. I'm hopeful.

Good morning MMC members. I did not know that we had already started a countdown page for 2017. Just shows you how much I still have to learn from around here (having only started last July).
Tons going on around here, including my better half being on temp disability due to conditions that the doctors now say is probably caused by the amount of medications prescribed (go figure) for the length of time they have been that way. Wonderful how it only takes them around 15-20 years to come to this conclusion, when a non-physician like me proposed the question.
At least it is a start, so they are going to let her body kind of cleanse out for the time being.
I hope everyone is doing well and I will try to keep up with all of you from this point forward.

Good Morning, Folks.

Can you believe we are 2/3 of the way through January already?
More to the point of this thread, can you believe we are almost 1/4 of the way back to our beloved Christmas Season?

Days to the Season: 296
Days to Christmas Day: 338

February 12. (It's only 3 weeks from tomorrow.)
Mark your calendars.
Because at that point, we will enter the SECOND quarter of our journey!
(Don't believe me? Just do your own chart check at post number one.)

Had a bit of rain yesterday morning and we may get more today, tomorrow and Monday before dependably clear weather returns Tuesday.
At least it is warm, and we have commenced this first weekend day at 53 degrees here in the state capital

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everybody.
Enjoy your Weekend!

Good Saturday morning! A glorious 2 days off! I do have to attend a 70s/80s disco-themed party for store managers. To be honest, I wish I could just stay home and relax, but I said I'd go and I won't go back on my word. Hope everyone will have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome to the 2017 Countdown CG! We start the new one every year on January 1. It truly is a year long thread.

Thanks Crown! I'm telling you January is flying this year and this is always the SLOWEST month of the year (Scary to imagine what that means for the other months to come)!

Morning MMC! Happy Weekend to everyone. I am here having my breakfast and reading MMC. I think Ballcoach always says that's one of his favorite things to do on the weekend after a long week. Well even these long weeks are seemingly going fast I feel. January never used to go this quickly as it is this year. I have some errands to do today but I also am going to make time to relax and have fun. Since I was sick most of this week I'm trying not to over-do it but I'm still going to run and do my normal routines.
Have a great day!

Noodlenoggin, I see it this way.

Christmas is a wonderful, enjoyable and SPECIAL time that everyone here truly loves. But we also enjoy the anticipation of another Season coming.
Speaking for myself, if I was to leave my Christmas decorations up year round, listen to Christmas music every day and watch Christmas movies continuously, what would there be to look forward to for the next season? The anticipation, which I truly love, would be absent, as would be the special uniqueness.
Taking Christmas down in January and carefully packing it away is the first step toward looking forward to the new season to come and keeping it a special time.
When the holiday things come down, it's very sad for me too. But I tell myself: "There! I've taken the first step to insure a wonderful next Christmas Season to come!"

(Don't know if this will help you feel better, but maybe it can provide another perspective.)

Morning all!! Today is the last nice day for quite awhile..so its off to AC Moore to look for leftovers, Hallmark Store clearance and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Good evening ~
Been a pretty quiet day here. Didn't get too much sleep last night. Got home late from the hockey game and then I was up a couple of times with Maggie. Hopefully I'll catch up on sleep tonight. I wanted everyone to know that my daughter got her biopsy results back and everything is benign. Thank God. Thanks again to everyone who sent the positive thoughts and prayers our way. I appreciate it very, very much. You guys are the best.
Wishing everyone a nice night and a great weekend ahead <3
Wonderful new about your daughter!
Hope you can catch up on some sleep!

Thx Crown...these days are passing by!

Very well said Crown. When I take my stuff down (which I will finally do next weekend) I think about how fun it's going to be to put back up again in 300 days. I mean if I don't take it down then I'm never going to get to put it back up again! And you're right the anticipation all year long is a big part of what makes it so amazing when it gets here. As we go through each day, week and month...as things change from winter towards spring and summer...the build just gets bigger and then we finally reach the Bers and are truly on the road to Christmas. It's all exciting. This site makes the build so exciting and a place we can come to every day to think about it and talk about it.

This is why I love the diverse Christmas culture here. Everybody has a different view of their season and how it ends and also how it begins. I am the strange breed that can have stuff up all year and it NEVER gets old or boring for me. I wasnt always married..lol and I have done it for many years. But I do see the flip side also and understand that not everyone can be like I am. I now keep my own den in the off season to enjoy whenever I want. I have posted before..you need to find what works for you and what doesnt.

Very happy for your daughter and your family. I know what it's like to wait for a biopsy result, so stressful and worrisome. Hope you'll be able to get more sleep over the weekend. Have a great one.

Good morning everyone. I have a baby shower this afternoon and then we are supposed to see Mikes whole family for a family dinner.
New developments have come up about his cousin and the media just can't seem to leave them alone. I have found my self trying to stay away from social media because everyone wants to play CSI, even people that I know. They are commenting on the stories and it hurts me because even though I am not blood related to his uncle aunt or cousins, they are still my family. It just breaks my heart to see people be so mean
