The Menards is Chicago has what we want. That is a bit of a drive though.

I am sure we will find something. We may have to go with something lower to the ground than we originally planned, but we will see. We still have to get the area setup and ready, so there is time.

We have several things we want to do to the backyard this summer, but some of it may have to wait another year.

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday!! We have another beautiful day on tap. Partly cloudy but a high of 74º!

Not much going on today (for me) besides work. My niece's Great Dane had puppies yesterday- the count was up to 8 puppies alive, but they didn't think she was done yet. I was hoping there would be something on FB this morning but I didn't see anything. Can't wait to see them!

My FIL is having surgery this afternoon if you could say a little prayer for him. It's a sinus surgery where they will break his nose. Not fun! My hubby is taking him.

And more awwws from me, they are so beautiful. Brandy has such a kind face. And when I awed Loki looked up at the tv, because he's learned that when I awww it's usually because there's a cute animal on tv and he's ready to get excited and bark at it. I never noticed it until David pointed it out to me last week. Hope the puppies and Brandy are well. Love tiny puppies.

Shiny Brites are a vintage brand of U.S.-made Christmas ornaments. Their heyday was from about the 1940s into the 1960s. These days, Christopher Radko makes and sells repros of various Shiny Brite designs. (Someone correct me if I'm too far off ...)

Back in the '50's and '60's, all of our ornaments were Shiny Brites. Still have several left that we put out every year.

Our family had some from the 1950s. They were thrown out by the woman who embezzled my dad's estate. A number of family items of sentimental value disappeared the same way. It still hurts. I have Radko repros similar to the ones that were lost, but they're not the same as having the ones I grew up with and cherished.

Morning Xmas. Sorry to hear about this being a tough week for you. Is it due to the job itself or because of the Bruins' season ending early? I can relate to the "off-season", but in my case it is the NFL that I wait for. I'm not sure if it is a bit harder on us due to the short amount of games or on those sports that have a larger amount, so there is more of a chance to rise or fall as the season gets near the end.
Anyway, have as good a week as possible and an even better final weekend in April...

It is a tough week due to work, I have 2 separate inventories to do, the tougher one I ran tonight, the easy one is Thursday, just a lot of hours to put in.
I am very happy the Bruins season, just to have made the playoffs didn't seem possible back in February. I love hockey, even though my team is done, I will enjoy it since the Pittsburgh Penguins are still in it.

Morning Martine. Isn't it always interesting how our vacation plans usually depend on unexpected household (or car) repairs/updates. Connie and I are looking to make it down to Universal Orlando this winter, so she can check out the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter". My current canines do not try to get things outside of their own bowls (or begging), but I once had an Australian Sheppard who managed to get a three pound roast off the counter and devoured the entire thing. You want to get mad sometimes, but how can you ignore their own inner drives?

The Wizarding World of HP, was amazing. My wife loves Harry Potter, and she dreamed going there since it opened. She loved it when we went back in February, I am not a fan, but even I was in awe.

JP broke his toe tripping over the dog, so he can't play lacrosse for at least the next 2 weeks, I feel bad for him, he was really beginning to get a feel for the game and playing really well.

I should probably head to bed.

Morning MMC! The last Pines Day of April has arrived. Yesterday was another crazy day at work. I like being busy but I don't need it to be overly crazy. Today I'm going to go to Applebee's for dinner so that's something to look forward to if things do get crazy for a 3rd day in a row. More rain here this morning (what else is new). Seems like this spring we get 1-2 nice days and then 3-4 cloudy/rainy ones. Have a good Wednesday as we wind down April!

At last the relentless rain abated by yesterday afternoon. But not before my beloved Crabtree Valley Mall was flooded and closed down!
(Not to worry, though. This has happened before. They are used to it, and will be back up and running again later today.)
Today should be warm (near 80) and DRY!! We see 60 degrees recorded here at this hour.


Well, once again it is mid-week and open house Wednesday at the 'Pines.
Spring is really swinging at our resort of choice and Carl has developed what he refers to as "seasonal blends". Hmmmm. Wonder what "blends" would be seasonal for Spring?
(Only one way to find out, you know.)
