Hello everyone,

We had a a lot of fun at the Columbus Comic Con. Henry (my 8yr old) went at Dwight Schrute from the Office on Sunday. Catherine Tate, British actress who played Nelly on the Office, was there and we got a picture of them together. He was super excited.

Back to "regular" life today. School starts in about 2 weeks so I will be spending a lot of time getting things ready, as will my wife. We don't have any more plans this summer really, just relax and get ready for the school year. My graduate classes are back to one at a time now. I just finished the overlapping class, so the amount of work is reduced substantially.

Everyone have a great day!
I love the idea of an 8-year-old as Dwight Schrute, bet he was adorable.

Merry Greetings!

I'm on holidays again. I mentioned previously that I have plans to visit my brother and I confirmed everything with him. I'm heading out tomorrow and leaving Toronto on Thursday. This will be the farthest I've driven without a passenger. I'm excited about it and decided to go the route that takes a bit longer, but is the easiest to navigate because there won't be so many left and right turns and searching for signs.

He's already lining up things for us to do. The weather here is calling for rain most of the week, but the weather in Toronto is showing sunny skies for my visit.

Today doesn't count as a vacation day because it's our Civic Holiday so I get a nice break, but it only counts as 4 vacation days.

My husband and O'Malley will have to get by on their own for a few days.
Enjoy your time off AuntieMistletoeDear. And happy Civic Holiday.

Thank you so much!! I hope your naturopathic doctor can help you out! They are amazing!
Gracie had an up & down weekend. I don't think she was feeling too good this morning. Yesterday morning she was full of P & V. Hopefully she's on the right path! xx
My friend who is a naturopath keeps telling me it has to do with the shots she got as a puppy. She keeps testing her & she said it's like the shots are in layers in Gracie. I don't understand it all, but it's intriguing! I told Jim to run that information from our friend by the "new" vet today when he delivers there. Sure hope we can get her straightened out!! xx
I hope Gracie is feeling better tonight, sweet girl. I believe in trying different types of medicine to find the one that works best.

Evening all. Hope Monday wasn't too bad. Our new outside bench arrived today. Goodness knows when we'll get to use it, the weather has been so bad this summer. Have a good week everyone.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

We spent all day Saturday uniform & clothes shopping for Elizabeth, since school starts Friday. Then we took Nancy's parents out to eat for their 60th anniversary. Nancy is improving every day after her surgery!

Sunday afternoon, a boy showed up at the house asking permission to date Elizabeth. That's the second one in two weeks. At least they're asking, but she's my baby!! I told him no, not yet. He was disappointed, but he said he understood. She was disappointed, too, and I don't think she was quite as understanding. Oh well. Time to clean up the gun collection, I guess.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Glad Nancy is improving.

You're welcome, and thank you. I hope Gracie is feeling better. Sending hugs <3

Greeting HMG. I hope you are doing well and that the appointments go smoothly. My better half (and several others) are getting on me to have my back checked out. I may have to give in and make an appointment. I just greatly dislike going to a doctor's office. Oh well, enjoy your Monday...

Thank you CGYager, my appointments went well. I do not like to go to doctor visits either but it's important to keep up with these things. I hope your back feels better!

Good Morning, Folks!

A new week.
The first week of the rest of our count.
(Also, the first week with our Season count in double digits!)

Days to the Season: 98
Days to Christmas Day: 140

And Milestone number 13?
Well it's ONE WEEK FROM TODAY and it's the THREE-QUARTERS marker to Christmas Season 2017!
(Can you believe 3/4 already? I can't. Too soon. Just too soon!)

We have been settling into a pattern recently where it's pretty warm and humid during the afternoons but noticeably more pleasant after sunset.
Such was the case yesterday. Made for nicer neighborhood walking weather.
Today may see thunderstorms but our high is supposed to remain in the 80's.
We are at 75 degrees here right now, and a light shower has just passed.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Friends!
This double digit count is looking great! Seems so easy now we are on cruise control.

I love the idea of an 8-year-old as Dwight Schrute, bet he was adorable.

He loves the Office. Everyone knew who he was right away and thought it was great. There was an artist there who had lot of drawings of Dwight as different movie and comicbook figures as well as different Dwight sayings. He saw Henry and had him come over the his booth and gave him a drawing for free and took some pictures of Henry at his booth. Henry loved all of the attention. He is a ham! :D

Good Morning Tis. Monday went well here also. I over did it a bit, but ended the day with a nice BBQ with the family. I understand about your bench, last year I had the same feeling about my deck. Put up a new one, stained it, decorated it and then never got around to sitting out there. Oh well, at least it looked nice...
August is starting out on the cooler side here, this week we only have highs in the mid to upper 70's (my kind of Summer), with a chance of Thunderstorms tomorrow.
Have a fun Tuesday and a great rest of the week...

Good morning to the MMC crowd and welcome to what will undoubtedly be a Terrific Tuesday. The evening ended well and the BBQ feast came out just the way I wanted it to. The only fun/weird part came at the peculiar eating habits of our two dogs. When I sat down to eat, both Bryce (our Sheltie) and Riley (our multipo) came and sat by me. I had two steaks set out for me, a sirloin and a New York. Riley helped me with the sirloin, but when I offered some to Bryce, he turned his nose up at it (several times). He kept staring at me and I replied, "Sorry it's all I have." After "we" had the first steak, I went back and got the New York strip. I offered a bite of it to Riley, but now he did not want any. I did the same to Bryce and he chowed down. I looked at my wife and daughter and said, "I don't believe this. They have gotten so picky in their old ages that they even pick what cut of meat they will eat?"
Of course we all laughed at it, but it really caught me off guard. The good thing was we "all" got out fill of the BBQ last night. I have Bible study in a couple of hours and then I will head over to the "Dark Side"... Sanford Medical Clinic for my appointment.
Have a really nice day everyone...

Morning MMC! It was a cool and rainy day yesterday. Felt more like October than August. Was weird but a nice little preview of the Bers. Day 2 for me of 3. Had so much to do yesterday and now the next 2 to get my work done. Funny how when you take time off you have to do the same amount of work in less time lol. Have a great day!

Sounds like you had a full, productive day. Love your story about your dogs being picky eaters. I start to worry when Loki turns up his nose at food, especially bananas (he loves bananas). Have a great day CGYager.

Good Morning, MMC Citizens!

And with citizenship comes responsibilities, one of which is to be familiar with our count and Milestone stautus.

Therefore:
Days to the Season: 97
Days to Christmas Day: 139

And our next Milestone marker?
Well, it's number thirteen on our chart, it arrives in just SIX days (less than one week, Guys) and it is the THREE-QUARTERS point to Christmas Season 2017!
(There. Now you can say you have discharged your important MMC responsibilities.)

Some rain fell late yesterday and this morning.
Today (and for that matter the rest of the week) could bring us more rain with possible thunderstorms.
Currently, we are cloudy and damp and it is 74 degrees outside, according to our back door thermometer.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Folks!

Good Tuesday morning! Much cooler temperatures since Sunday but today should be warmer and mostly sunny. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift and have new hires to train this afternoon. And then I'll be doing a loss prevention audit of the whole store, at my boss' request, to know where we stand before official auditors show up. But for now I have supper in the oven (potato and leek gratin) and a load of laundry in the wash and Loki sleeping/dreaming next to me. Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Crown! Enjoy your day today!

Good morning MMC! Merry Tuesday! It's another cooler than normal August day, but the sun is shining & I'll take it! ;)
Tonight we are having a surprise bridal shower for Miss Emma. I will be whipping up some appetizer ham sandwiches & a tailgate sandwich ring after work. That's about the only exciting thing going on around here today!!
Everyone, have a wonderful day!!

Good Tuesday morning, Christmas friends!

It was a quiet afternoon yesterday after work. we went to Nancy's parents' for supper...fresh snap beans, okra and a steak. Awesome! It rained most of the night (after I dumped more money...I mean chemicals...in the pool). I'm sure I wasted that now LOL.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

I was looking out the backdoor this morning and I saw a bunch of potential deep fryers pecking in my yard..lol. I took to brining turkeys that are just going into the oven now. Between the brine and doing them in a bag..no more dry turkey for me.
I did keep mine in the smoker the entire time. I brined it, kept it in a pan, & mopped it with the maple/bbq sauce every hour for the last 3 hours. It was so delicious! Might have to do that again for Thanksgiving! Mmmm!!
