Christmas Countdown - 2017

Good Friday afternoon, friend. What turned into a day off ended up a day of working. Someone was supposed to be at our school at 9:00 to install a new phone system. All I was supposed to do was meet them there and let them in...

9:00 turned to 10 turned to 11 turned to 1 turned to 3...

But I'm not going to let that put a damper on things....

Monday is our first day of teachers being back and my first day in my new role (kinda)...so I'm pretty excited. Add that to celebrating days 100 and 99 to the season and this is going to be a great weekend....EXCEPT...

Tomorrow we go shopping for Bambina's first day of Pre-K. Can y'all believe it? Last night, I went back and read when she was born and how it was posted here and we all celebrated. Doesn't seem like it should have been 3 years and 11 months ago...

So hard to believe Bambina is going to Pre-K! I remember when she was born! Crazy how time flies!! I hope she loves Pre-K! And I hope everyone has a good 1st day back to the grind!!

Happy Monday! Well happy for me cause I have 3 days of work and then 4 days off for sort of a final summer vacation/break. Weekend was a good one. Rainy day expected today with highs struggling to 68 degrees. Nothing like what August could be. Got a lot to get done in 3 days. Hope you all have a great start to your week!

I guess that log five was a bit much... lol. I certainly hope you are able to get everything done to better be able to enjoy the four day break. We had our rain yesterday and that should make tilling a portion of the ground much easier today.

Merry Greetings!

I'm on holidays again. I mentioned previously that I have plans to visit my brother and I confirmed everything with him. I'm heading out tomorrow and leaving Toronto on Thursday. This will be the farthest I've driven without a passenger. I'm excited about it and decided to go the route that takes a bit longer, but is the easiest to navigate because there won't be so many left and right turns and searching for signs.

He's already lining up things for us to do. The weather here is calling for rain most of the week, but the weather in Toronto is showing sunny skies for my visit.

Today doesn't count as a vacation day because it's our Civic Holiday so I get a nice break, but it only counts as 4 vacation days.

My husband and O'Malley will have to get by on their own for a few days.

How will they ever get along without you? Have a fun and safe trip Auntie and enjoy your Holiday. I hope the weather you have will live up to the predictions...

Merry Sunday!
It's going to be a beautiful day, mostly sunny with highs near 80 degrees. I was up early today, we are going to attend a birthday brunch for my husbands Aunt. It's her 95th birthday, God bless her. I already tidied up the house and started laundry. I also have a pot of sauce simmering on the stove, I'm going to make lasagna for dinner.

Morning! It really cooled off here overnight into the 50s. A real early Autumn feel out there. Should be a nice warm day later with highs in the high 70s with sunshine and low humidity. Wish we could bottle up this weather but Monday is supposed to be a rainy day. Just having dinner at my Uncle's tonight. Hope you all are having a great weekend!

It was freezing at the lake Friday night! Jim came home & said he froze all day delivering UPS! He wished he had a shirt underneath his UPS shirt. That's just crazy for August!!

Good morning Holiday. I love the cooler weather. Currently 58 and the windows are wide open allowing some nice cool, clean air to flow through my humble abode.

It's going to be cloudy today with rain, highs near 74 degrees. I'll be in and out today, I have an appointment with my naturopathic doctor and the chiropractor as well. I'd like to make a Target run at some point. Other than that I'll be working on my daily chores. That's about it. I hope everyone is well and has a great day!

A new week.

Days to the Season: 98
Days to Christmas Day: 140

And Milestone number 13?
Well it's ONE WEEK FROM TODAY and it's the THREE-QUARTERS marker to Christmas Season 2017!
(Can you believe 3/4 already? I can't. Too soon. Just too soon!)


We have been settling into a pattern recently where it's pretty warm and humid during the afternoons but noticeably more pleasant after sunset.
Such was the case yesterday. Made for nicer neighborhood walking weather.
Today may see thunderstorms but our high is supposed to remain in the 80's.
We are at 75 degrees here right now, and a light shower has just passed.

It's that 97-98 day marker that keeping my bells jiggling, but love the excitement that each milestone brings to all.

Try explaining to a community planning table why you're not available for a meeting on November 13th. When they plan this far in advance, they figure you can change a random vacation day. I said, "NO. Change the meeting date if you want my input." You see, I want to stay up late on the 12th and greet the season at midnight of the 13th. In order to stay up with the "big people" (as I used to say), I booked the following day off from work so I can sleep and then go Christmas shopping.
Can't wait!

It's been cooler the last few nights; last night I pulled covers up over my body - only for a few hours. I wore long work out pants instead of shorts to the gym. My husband was freezing and didn't want me to turn the fans on, but in an hour or so I'll have them back on - he can always put a robe or sweater on, I can only peel off so much skin. HaHa.

I keep waiting to see the cooking mags at the checkout with Thanksgiving and Christmas food covers!! They just changed out the mags this weekend, so the next change they should be out.
