What a wonderful initiative from your local animal protection league. I really hope that those poor pups find a new loving home. And how nice of you to volunteer as well Holiday. Did you apply to foster or adopt? Glad to hear that Lucy loved the lake and that she is helping everyone heal through the passing of sweet Gracie. Enjoy your day!

Good afternoon Martine. I signed up as a foster, but fosters have 1st chance of adopting the dog if we should decide too. Not sure I want to take all that on with Lucy G being so young, but it's something we can do to help out! We'll see what happens.

Good morning MMC! This is my 1st post of the BERS!!! It sure has been feeling like the BRRRS too! Yesterday was nice (but WINDY) - tonight we're supposed to get down to 47º! Cold weather doesn't need to move in SO fast!!!

I believe little Lucy has already become a big fan of the lake & the people! She got very spoiled over the weekend! There were a lot of tears too! It's amazing how loved my Gracie girl was! Everyone thought getting Lucy was the best thing for all of us! She's a nut!

Our groomer texted us asking if we or any of our animal loving friends would be interested in fostering or adopting dogs from Texas. Our local animal protection league is getting a shipment of TX dogs at the end of the week. I filled out an applications, so we'll see what happens. So sad!

That's awesome of you to fill out an application like that. I would love to have another dog but I don't think our cat would like that too much. I am sure he thinks Raven is more then enough of a dog for him to handle LOL

Good afternoon .. well we had a busy weekend. We sanded and repainted my hubby's old desk for our daughter and repainted a second hand desk we bought for our son so now each of the kids has a desk in their bedrooms. I dug out all the picture frames that we never unpacked and hung on the walls when we moved in and painted all the frames black. Got a lot hung on the walls, hoping to get the rest done this week. Sunday we hosted a last minute family breakfast at our house with hubby's side of the family. The cousins played and the adults talked. Of course we went through 3 pots of coffee It was nice and something we need to plan more of.

And how can a 4 day weekend go so fast???? I hope you had a great one!!!

Once the Saturday errands were complete, we settled into holiday weekend mode. So much so that supper wasn't until 11:40. Of course that led to sleeping in until 11:00 Sunday morning(Be not afraid...We went to Thursday evening church.) We reigned it in a little bit the rest of Sunday, so that by the time we got to Tuesday we were back on work schedule.
The finishing touch was our son stopping by with a large works pizza to share for last evening's supper.
A truly great end to the Summer 2017 season.

I hope everyone is having a nice day so far! We're getting back in to the swing of things, everyone is back to school & work. I'm heading out soon to do some shopping at the outlets. It's a beautiful day, sunny and warm. Stopping by my parents house as well for a quick visit. Back home afterward to make tacos for dinner

Our little family had another great Labor Day weekend. Our tradition is to go camping one last time for the year in Pigeon Forge, with some annual traditions & to do something new in the area too. This year we went to a magic show that DD & DH really enjoyed.

DH bought his first Department 56 pieces. He's had his eye on them for years when we go to The Incredible Christmas Place every year & this was his year. He bought the house & garage from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. He also got the figure of Clark & Rusty with the huge ball of Christmas lights. He & his sister were giddy last night when they were unpacking them to see what they looked like! DD is 12 & has never seen the movie. We told her she's old enough now, though we warned her there would be inappropriate scenes. The first night we have free, we'll watch it with her.

Hopefully I get the last of the weekend camping laundry done tonight & put out what little autumn décor we have. I've told DD to start making out her Christmas list. I know an iPod touch is at the top of her list this year.

Yes, almost everyone at the lake is such animal lovers. Lucy was one lucky pup over the weekend!
LOL - ya, we will see how this all works out with the foster pet/adoption. My hubby won't have a shedding dog again, so that's going to limit what pooch we would take. I feel so bad for all of them.

So there is no doubt that for you guys 2017 will be a Wedding Year to remember. The great thing is all you have to do is remember how long you guys are married and all the rest of the anniversary cards can say the same...

I hadn't considered the whole "already knowing my anniversary number based on others' weddings." Good thinking! I'll be sure to post a couple photos when the time happens... That is if I am not too busy posting photos of Christmas Blossoms...
