Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good Friday middle-of-the-night. I'm up because I was on call to go to the store and let out electricians who were working after hours. I went in at 2:30am and just can't get back to sleep yet. I have the day off though, so I see a nap in the afternoon. I'll try and get an appointment at a walk-in clinic today, because I still have coughing fits 2 weeks after starting my cold. I think I need inhalers, as it's often brought on when I step outside in the cold and when I'm being active (though it will happen as well when resting, so go figure). I also have an appointment at the bank and I have to go to a store for which I have a 50$ gift card expiring tomorrow. That on top of grocery shopping and laundry. I may not have time for a nap now that I think of it. Hope everyone will enjoy a wonderful day!

Morning MMC. TGIF! Glad it got here. It's been a long week I feel. But somehow it still goes relatively quick. Just thinking of what to order for dinner maybe a burger. And then this weekend more of a relaxing one hopefully. It should be. But it's going to be 50s on Saturday with sunshine. I'm definitely going to want to be out in that weather. I’m still coughing too but I think I’m finally on the mend. The inhaler is helping me, definitely get one today if you can. Praying you get well soon. Enjoy your day off!

Merry Friday!
It’s going to be sunny today with a high of 35, we’re currently at 20 degrees. I’m just having my coffee, Rocky had me up early today. We’re playing and I’m working on a menu plan and grocery list for next week. I’m going to the butcher today and I’ll do the rest of my food shopping tomorrow. Other than that I’ll be working on some chores around the house. Dinner will be beef stew over egg noodles. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well. Have a great day!!!

Today's figures:

Days to Christmas Day: 333

And indeed we are not far short of the threshold of our next Milestone.
It is the 1/4 marker to the Season and the doorstep is now just 17 days away.
That's under 2 1/2 weeks, Folks.
(It's still January but the year is already racing by!)


We took a chilly turn yesterday and only reached 48 for the high.
Things will be better today, with a predicted peak of 55 this afternoon, then we head back up into the 60's for tomorrow.
Our current reading is 28 degrees here in the North Carolina piedmont.

Good morning MMC! Merry Friday & TGIF!! And a warm TGIF it's going to be. Sun is already shining!! High of 52 predicted for today! Craziness!

Anybody have fun plans for the weekend? I am taking the Amish home this afternoon. Tonight we are going out to eat at BW3's with my SIL's & their hubby's. My MIL/FIL always give us a gift cert. to eat there every year for Christmas. I am just not a fan of their food. But I'll enjoy the company! Other than that, we don't have many plans! Supposed to be a rainy day tomorrow! Ho hum!

Did anybody do anything fun for Rudolph Day?? I got my winter tree decked out! I had some frosted purple decs at home & I had picked up some more thinking they were winterish looking, but I think on my tree I need to stick to blue & silver. I do have 2 red cardinals on the tree too. Anyway, this is how it's going to stay for this winter & next Christmas I'll look for a more blue/silver things. I also ordered a snowflake tree topper.

Indeed it would!

There have definitely been some very warm days for the Snow Fest, but I don't think it got quite as high as they are predicting it will get. There have been rainy days, too. It is still fun to go!

...One of these years!!! I haven't seen our friend for awhile, but I know they usually go every year!!! They love it! ENJOY!!!!

It's turning out to be a very nice tree now that you fixed the problem, especially with the deal you got. We should be taking down our tree soon, now that David is mostly over his cold. We still turn it on each evening.

It's sad to think about taking it down, isn't it. Love the lights in the house at night!! In my case I've been hearing "You're putting up a tree NOW???" LOL! Yep!

Happy Friday!
For some reason my alarm did not go off this morning and then my daughter turned off her alarm instead of hitting snooze. So the girls had 15 mins to get ready before the bus came...lol you can imagine what is like with 2 girls but they made it on time. I was able to throw together lunches quickly.
We don't have too many plans, just a basketball game on Sunday.
I am looking forward to a low key weekend.

TGIF, Christmas friends!

Elizabeth comes home from the Beta Club Convention today. I'm ready to see her! She didn't place in the talent competition, and she was relieved LOL. She didn't want to have to dance in front of such a big crowd again.

Mama called me yesterday afternoon in a panic. She had spilled a pot of boiling water on herself and needed to come help. I flew to her house, but by the time I got there, she had calmed a bit. Luckily, she was wearing jeans which deflected most of the water, and her legs weren't really even red. She had jumped in a cold shower as soon as it happened, so she was ok. I took her to the pharmacy and got some lidocaine spray, which helped. Whew, scary!

Well, when I went home for lunch I took the top section of the tree off. In the daylight I could see there were like branches on "hinges" that needed to be pulled down! I saw them last night, but I didn't want to break it. So at lunch I got brave & pulled them down. (They were kind of hard to pull down!) What a difference!!!! I need to email the company back & apologize!!! Good thing I was friendly in my email. Ha ha ha! Whoops!!
