Good Morning, Christmas Cohorts.

We enter yet another week on our quest for Christmas and its glorious Season.
The first full week of February.
The first week and first day of the rest of our 2018 count!

So, without further delay or chit-chat, here are the latest figures:
Days to the Season: 281
Days to Christmas Day: 323

And this is also the first day of the last week of the first quarter of our Season count.
Yes, Folks. As of TODAY, we are precisely SEVEN days away from the 1/4 marker to Christmas Season 2018.

The weather warmed up a bit yesterday but that was not the whole story. We had quite a bit of rain. That has cleared, but now the cold weather is back.
(Seems like if it's dry, it's cold and when it's warm it's wet.)
Our current temperature, to start off the new week, is 36 degrees here in central NC.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Everyone!
Thanks Crown! Hope you enjoyed the Superbowl!

Friends, it hasn't been a good week.

I lost my Dad. Talked to him last Sunday night. Tried calling him on Monday night. No answer. Tried calling him on Tuesday night. No answer. That wasn't normal behavior, but Dad was known to work late or go to sleep early, so I just didn't think much of it. On Wednesday, we got a call from his work saying that he hadn't been to work all week. When the police broke into his camper, they found him in his bed. They believe he passed away Sunday night/early Monday morning.

Tomorrow, we have his funeral. We haven't got his body back, yet. There are some issues going on with it in Texas, so we are just going to have a little ceremony and then take visitors at our church. I think I have been going on adrenaline for three days, but I can feel the crash coming. I'm getting highly irritable, angry, and just mad at the world.

I haven't even cried, yet.

My dad was my hero. However, he just didn't take care of himself. He had a heart attack, two strokes, and was a diabetic....who didn't take his medicine or eat the way he was supposed. Right before Thanksgiving, I really laid into him about it. Said ugly, ugly things that he needed to hear....but it was so ugly. Right now, I regret it so...

Our conversation Sunday night was longer than usual. We talked about the Super Bowl, our plans for hunting season, and his granddaughters....he always talked about his girls.

I'm not sure how to get through tomorrow. I don't want to go to sleep....don't want to face the day. I know it is what I have to do, but that doesn't make it any easier.

I'm not sure who you talk to when you go to sleep at night, but please pray strength for our family.

I'm so sorry, Coach. Losing a parent is an awful thing, but try to remember that you guys had a great talk before it happened. My last conversation with my dad wasn't unpleasant, but I was pouting because Nancy wouldn't go the mountains with me that weekend. He said he would go with me, but I was too irritated to take him up on the offer. I'll never let that go, but I know he forgave me.

Regret is a tough thing to live with, but don't beat yourself up. You know your dad loved you, and loved your family, and that's the most important thing in the world.

Sending prayers for you and your family, my friend.

It's 1:00, and the wife is sleeping, so I am trying to not make much noise in the place. She was up till around 5:30 this morning; with an upset stomach. We went out late last night to get something to eat at an all-night diner and apparently, what she got, upset her stomach all night long. I didn't feel the greatest either, but I think that was the result of eating a hamburger at midnight!

When I was younger, I used to be able to eat what ever I wanted, at whatever time I wanted it, and it never bothered me. Now-a-days, I've been feeling like bloated, restless sleeping, heavy dreaming, if I eat dinner too late at night. I wake feeling as though I ate a brick, the night before and that I didn't get a restful sleep. I guess it has something to do with age, I don't know. It's like the older you get, the more things start to bother you when they never did before. Welcome to middle age...lol!
I know the feeling!

I'm sorry for your loss Ballcoach.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

The sun is finally shining after a rainy weekend. I spent most of the weekend trapped at home while Nancy used my truck for errands. Like I said before; too many drivers, too few vehicles.

I spent yesterday afternoon doing I.T. work at mom's. She got a new computer at Christmas, and finally got internet last week, so I installed updates and anti-virus software. I got her Echo Dot working, and she's having fun with that LOL.

I didn't watch the game, but we went to a SB party with some great taco soup at Nancy's sister's house. I've never really followed football closely, and I care even less now that they're dragging politics into the game.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Praying for you, Coach. :)

Good morning all. It is my fondest wish and prayer that you all have a safe and enjoyable 2018 (and beyond). May you be granted good health, a level of prosperity to keep you and your comfortable and the peace that only God can provide.
Lastly that you hold onto that childlike spirit that keep the home fires of Christmas burning brightly as any star in the sky.
So for 2018, let me be the first...

Thanks so much CG and I pray that you have the same in 2018!

Morning MMC. What a game last night! Definitely exciting. Sad to see the NFL end for the next 7 months but when it returns the best time of year (The Bers) will be starting again! Unreal to think that and I love following the off-season. Too much good food last night. Taking Rollins to the vet for a check up today on my day off and then going to IHOP. Have a great day!
Great game for sure and I am not even really a football fan.
I ate too much last night...too many good things that I needed to sample.
Good Luck to Rollins at the vet and enjoy your day off!

Good Morning MMC...it was a great game last night and I am feeling a bit tired today so I may need an extra cup of coffee today...lol
I am going to catch up on laundry tonight and I need to run to the grocery store later.
Hope you all have a great Monday!

Good Morning, MMC!!! Well I was up half the night celebrating New England’s loss and listening to the Philadelphia destroy part of their city. How stupid. Not much happening today. We got a little bit of snow overnight, so I need to get out there and shovel. Then I have a few errands to run. I hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning MMC ~
Happy Monday!
It’s going to be sunny, windy and cold today, highs near 34 degrees. Not too much going on here. I need to make a Target run and then I’ll be working on my daily chores. Dinner will be meatball & tortellini soup with mozzarella bread. That’s about it for me. Hope everyone has a nice day and a great week ahead!
xx

Can you pick up my mom’s meds at Target for me? Lol!

Have a great day, HMG!!

That sounds great! I enjoy those sort of things also, were they funny? We ended up just lounging, talking about houses and snuggling with both kitties in bed. They jumped up in bed with us and both of them curled up right next to us and went to sleep. We didn't have the heart to wake them up so we just stayed in there for a couple hours and never got around to watching our movie.
Some were funny (e.g., some lost Ritz Brothers footage, outtakes with Alice Fay mugging at the camera and socking Buster Keaton on the back of his neck with a pie), and some were deleted musical numbers that archivists pieced together. Always fascinating stuff! The DVD is called "Hidden Hollywood II." After watching it, we ordered a copy of "Hidden Hollywood I." :)

One of the most exciting things in my life was screening original test footage that Gloria had kept, but had never screened. It took us months to find a projectionist and a theater that was willing to let us come in with nitrate film. Fascinating footage! Including Mel Torme at age 19 doing a screen test for a part in one of Gloria's films. (He got the job, BTW!) And audio-only footage of a lovely but difficult aria Gloria sang when she was 12, auditioning for her first film role. (That one made the hair stand up back of my neck! The aria was too difficult for some professional opera singers, but she pulled it off beautifully!) Some of it was rather dull, like makeup tests and test footage of sets, but they were still very interesting to me---that sort of raw test footage rarely leaves the studio. Before we donated the footage to the Library of Congress, where they could store it properly, we had the footage transferred to DVD so we would have a copy to keep.

Hope you all have a great Monday!

My keurig died, so I’ve been coffee less for a few days now. It’s been a sad sad time. I really need to make up my mind on if I want to get another one or just a regular coffee pot.

Have a great day, SFM!!

Enjoy that sunshine!!! Have a great day, Brad!!

Good morning MMC! It sure is Monday! I'm a little jealous of Edge having the day after the Superbowl off. LOL! ;)

It's chilly outside, but at least we have sun. All the schools have delays today. There's a few cars in the ditch around the area. Yesterday we had a wet snow, changed to a spitty rain, got really cold & then switched back to snow, so it's made the roads a little tricky!

Well my brother is not happy with the outcome of the super bowl. I really didn't care who won. Was kind of nice to see someone different win it! Another football season in the books!

Moms birthday brunch was really nice yesterday. One of my favorite meals of the year! :D I was in the kitchen pretty much all day & night Saturday prepping for brunch, super bowl & GNO tomorrow night. Looking forward to a day off on Wednesday! :)

Everyone, have a great day!!!

I know the feeling of loosing a hero.

Have a great day Holiday!!
I am happy to hear your Mom's brunch went well..I am sure she was happy to have you all there..

My husband was not too happy with the game but he thought the Eagles played better so oh well! I ate way too much...lol so I will be hitting the gym later..

It's Friday, Yea!!!!
Boy I sure started off this day with a thud! I drive to work, parked the truck, grabbed my lunch box, coffee travel mug and my breakfast, got out of the truck and whoosh, I was flat on my back!!! The parking lot was a complete sheet of ice, I did not see it, and my feet, went out from underneath of me so quickly, I landed flat on my back (it felt like every vertebrae cracked) and my head bounced off the ice... My coffee mug went up in the air, it hit the inside of my drivers side door and went all over that, me and the ground... Ugggghhhh!

I was more embarrassed than anything else. I was not hurting then, but, I'm getting sore now. My back is hurting and the back of my head hurts too! I just took some Excedrin, to see if that helps. I gotta an hour commute to get back home and I really do not want to do it all sore and achy.

I want to go home to a heating pad!!!
Before I posted this I double checked to make sure we had heard from you again, only because our friend (actually our friends dad) was out shoveling snow. Totally healthy, late 50's year old man - slipped & hit his head on ice. Went in the house - he was fine. 3 hours later, he was dead. So, so scary!! I pray you are feeling much better now!

Oh coach! I am so very sorry to read this! :( How shocking, & tragic. You were a good son, only trying to help your dad. I hope the last few days have truly been a celebration of his life. I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts & prayers. (((HUGS)))

I'm not a pro football fan, but I was pleased with the outcome of the game.

We had a busy weekend. DH bought a new suit (he's lost 70 pounds so far and still going), DH & DD played for FIL's Pastor Appreciation Day yesterday, then DH played and sang at the funeral of a fellow church member last night.

No school today or tomorrow because of the flu. All "sick days" are used up as of today. They can use one of the two teacher in service days for tomorrow. After that, they'll probably start losing day off of spring break, which is scheduled for the last week in March. DD was just starting to get her school groove back and now we've stalled out again.

February already!
