Good Morning Everybody, and Happy Valentine's Day!
It's mid-week again. (And by now, all regulars to this thread know what that means!)

But mid week or not, another day means another new count data release.
Here is today's:
Days to the Season: 272
Days to Christmas Day: 314

And each new day also means we are one step close to our next Milestone marker, that one being the 300-Day Christmas Day Window.
How far off are we? Well, I don't think 2 weeks is very far away, do you?
That's how close we are. Just FOURTEEN days. (Getting darned close to Single Digits, in fact!)

Yesterday was our one chilly day, as predicted by the National Weather Service.
We only reached 45 for the high, and it was cloudy and just dreary in general.
Today will see a BIG turn-around and we are supposed to get to 64 today, with 77 promised for tomorrow and 79 for Friday.
Wow!
Right now, we are starting off still chilly at 41 degrees, here in the capital city.

Well Folks, Carl will be ready at the Shispering Pines' front double doors as usual this evening with a platter of piping hot fired twinkes and a full pitcher of sweet, southern iced tea.
The entertainment? Well, that's always a mystery until it starts. To observe, you must attend.
Will we see you there this evening? I hope so.

Until then, have a Wonderful Wednesday and a Vivacious Valentine's Day, Folks!

Happy Valentine's Day!!
My usual day of work today and tonight my husband and I have to go to a wake for a friend's FIL that passed away.
We don't really celebrate Valentine's Day too much but I always get my girls some chocolates. Of course my youngest was eating a truffle at 7am this morning..lol
Hope you all have a great day!

Hi everyone! not had a great day today, The wind and rain was so bad last night I couldn't sleep a lot so been a bit all over the place today. Hopefully will sleep better tonight, I have the day off tomorrow which will be nice. Think I'm going to go out for food or some drinks with friends to celebrate valentines day. Has anyone got any fun valentines plans?
Hope you were able to get some sleep last night. Enjoy your day off! Have fun with your friends - sounds like a great way to celebrate V-day!!
No fun V-day plans for us. We both work today. Hubby probably won't be home much before 7:30 at the earliest. Can't eat meat today & I don't eat fish/seafood, so he'll be grabbing a bite to eat probably at one of the fish fry's in the area on his way home. Pretty lame, eh?? :p
Have a great day!

Merry Tuesday!

The water I gave the cats this morning has not frozen as of yet. Doesn't seem all that warm to me, but it does look like the snow pack has gone down a bit, too, so it must be above freezing. I'll take it! Tomorrow it will be in the 40s.

Be merry!
Enjoy your "heat wave" Ha ha! Happy Valentines Day Meceka!

Good evening,
Popping in for a quick hello, day off tomorrow.
Relaxing watching the Bruins game before bed.
I hope you all had a good day.
Enjoy your day off!

Morning MMC. Happy Valentine's Day! Another little marker here in Mid-February and there are 2 houses that I run by every morning that still are lit. Each day this week they've had the Christmas lights on. I wonder which will outlast the other. Hope you all have a good middle of the week and V-Day!
That's awesome that you are still seeing a couple houses lit. I would love to see just one!! ;)
Have a good V-day Edge!

Good morning! Happy Valentines Day and it’s Hump Day today; yea!!! It’s all downhill after today! I just love the anticipation build up for the weekends. Especially, being able to stay in bed a lot longer in the morning!

I got 9 hours of sleep last night and I’m feeling so much better getting that rest.

You know, my goodness, I looked at the weather forecast for the next 7 days, and there is no snow at all. That’s a bummer! There’s nothing like a snow day or two in the middle of the week! Actually, the temperatures seem too warm for me, for it being in the middle of February in New England. This is my first winter up here, I was expecting all more snow!
I agree with you - the predicted temps are too warm!!! The last several nights we've been smelling skunk in the area - my friend has always said that's one of the 1st signs of spring! ;)
Have a great day!

Happy Valentines Day MMC ~
I have an appointment this morning for a follow up stress test. I had to reschedule this appointment twice because I had bronchitis. Hopefully all is well and I won’t have to go for any further testing. I’m stopping at the florist afterward to pick up flowers for my mother, I’m going to see her this afternoon. I will give my husband and the girls their gifts later this evening. Dinner will be raviolis, I found heart shaped ones in Costco!
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
Praying your appointment goes very well!! Enjoy the visit with your mom! Heart shaped ravioli's = cute! ♥ Give Rocky a hug from me on his 1st Valentines Day!!
Have a great day HMG!

Good Wednesday morning, Christmas friends, and Happy Valentine's Day!

Another candidate for the general manager's position is coming in for a tele-interview this morning. I'll never get used to the idea that someone other than one of us might be in charge.

Lots of chocolate and candy around the house this morning. Come on, self-control! Hang in there, buddy!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D
Is there any chance of someone from within being promoted? Or will someone from the outside definitely be hired? Hope it all works out great for you all!
Fingers off the chocolate Brad!! :p :D
Have a great day!!

Have a good day crown! See you tonight!

I'm like your youngest, if there was chocolate in the house right now, I'd be eating some first thing this morning.

Good morning and Happy Valentine’s Day all!!!

Valentine’s Day is always pretty low key around our house. Some treats for the kids and dear wife and I usually leave some small remembrance of the day on each other’s pillow. I thought for sure I had the drop on her this year since she’s unable to drive with her broken ankle, but yesterday, she decided to engage a grocery shopping service. The kitchen table was full of bags when I got home yesterday, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some treats in there for me in honor of the day!

I hope everyone enjoys the holiday!

Yes, so have we. That brings up another subject; skunks! I have never, ever seen soooo many skunks in my entire life since I moved up here to Connecticut. I'm serious, I mean like there is like a skunk convention up here.

Last summer, we went to the Park called Harkness, it got to dusk, and all of a sudden, there were skunks everywhere. Like 50 of them.... It was like skunks gone wild or something, a skunk convention! I was holding onto Jill's hand and it was like trying to avoid land mines. I was trying to sneak back out of the park without running into one of them and getting sprayed.

And up here, I smell them all the time, especially when the weather starts to get closer to the 50 degree mark. Man them things really do stink; their stench, kinda smells like burnt rubber.

Oh my! I would be freaking out!!!:mad: I can just about imagine you 2 trying to get out of there. :D:p
They do stink - awful! Makes my stomach turn!! I let Lucy out at midnight - I think it was Saturday night and as soon as I opened the door, the smell was overwhelming. YUCK!! Then I was afraid to let her out b/c where is that skunk & how many are there??? One year we had a family of them living under our back yard neighbors shed. Had to call the game warden, who called another guy who came to get them. Blah!
Be careful out there w/ all them skunks!

That's us, too. Nancy and I have never really done anything special for Valentine's Day, but since the kids started Kindergarten and giving cards there, we've done the candy and small gifts for them.

Oh, yes, I'm aware of several applicants from within the company, so it's just as likely that it will be someone I know. It's just a little too weird. We're a small plant in a small town, and we all know each other. LOL
