Good afternoon, everyone!

We're in a third month and it's my first time posting. I apologize for my disappearance from MMC.

December was difficult. I lost the reason I love the Season so much on December 20th. My grandmother passed away after 88 wonderful years on this earth. She had one of the most generous and kindest hearts I have ever encountered and I will forever take my love of Christmas from her. It really made celebrating the Season difficult. Even so, it went on and I was so lucky to be surrounded by family and friends in Sault Ste. Marie.

In terms of this year, I am now a permanent/contract teacher in my school board. The only downfall is that I have to drive an hour to get to school/teach. I am no longer driving to Russell every day to substitute teach. Instead, I am driving an hour to teach in Brockville, Ontario. It's a far drive, but I needed the contract. Now, I can work my way back to Russell... as well as getting more sections. Right now, I only have .33 (two classes in one semester). I'm really hoping that I can apply and increase next year. Still, I can finally say that I am a permanent/contract teacher!

I hope you all have had a wonderful start to 2018 and I look forward to the possibility of seeing you all more in the near future!
My heart goes out to you, brent. Now you will be loving Christmas enough for two.

I hope the teaching works out as you're hoping it will. Wishing you all the best!

I realized this morning that yesterday it was 6 months since we had to say goodbye to Miss Gracie & 6 months since we brought Lucy (aka wild child) home! Hard to believe it's been that long!!!

Good morning ~
Merry Thursday!
Been awake for quite some time, Rocky is still having a hard time sleeping through the night. Can’t wait until I’m allowed to start walking him. I plan on taking him for an evening walk every night to burn off some of that puppy energy. Of course I’ve been playing with him but it doesn’t seem to tire him out enough. I’m hoping everything falls in to place after that. Anyway not too much going on here, it’s just a typical day of errands and chores. Dinner will be baked chicken, cheesy scalloped potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx
Awww Rocky, he's got to let you sleep. I don't remember Loki not sleeping at night, except maybe for the first week. I'm sure once he gets those walks in that he'll be tired and sleep better. Hope you had a relaxing day HMG.

View attachment 43050 Good morning, all! Oliver spent the last two days at the vet getting the last of his heart worm treatment. Not fun, and he’s been tired and cranky. But he’s better this morning. This pic was taken right before he curled up in my lap to keep me company while I get my work from home day going. Now just keep him quiet for a month and we’re done with those nasty worms!!!
Oliver looks so kind and sweet. Glad his treatment is over and done.

Oh Holiday, thank you for sharing this. And yes Lucy looks like a wild child :)

Yikes! Good luck with the barn!! Have a good day!

Thank you! Have merry night!

Happy Friday Eve and March 1st!
Looks like we are in for a pretty bad rain storm starting tonight. They are saying we could get high winds..I hope we don't lose power, that is always my fear!
Tonight I am making pork chops, mashed potatoes and salad for dinner.
Hope you all have a great day!

Praying you don't lose power! Have a merry night!

Oh, Brent, I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family will be in my prayers! {{{HUGS}}}
Your love of the Season is such a wonderful gift your grandmother gave you.

Congratulations on getting a permanent contract teaching position ~ I hope your hours will increase soon.

It is good to have you back ~ I was wondering where you were and hoping that all was well. Have a merry night!

Little stinker. Lucy would not settle down last night. I'm not sure what had her so fired up! Finally around 1:30-2:00 she decided it was time to lay down.
Have a great day HMG!!

I hope Rocky settles down soon for you at nights!!!

It’s good to see you Brent. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts.
Congratulations on the permanent teacher position. I hope the rest of 2018 brings you many blessings.

Good Friday morning! I awoke at roughly 4:15am, but then again I fell asleep at 8:30pm. I decided to just get up and get a workout in (I usually do it after work) and get the day rolling. I'm looking forward to the weekend off. Tomorrow morning we'll go out to breakfast for one of our friends' birthday and then we'll stream a movie or two, as they predict rain for most of Saturday. Sunday will be the usual grocery shopping and chores. Hope everyone enjoys a great Friday!

Merry Friday!
We’re expecting heavy rain and high winds today. Thankfully I don’t have too much planned. I’m just going to work on a menu plan and grocery list. I’ll run to the butcher at some point. Daily chores. Dinner will be baked raviolis and a Caesar salad. Hopefully I’ll get a nap in with my puppy. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!
xx

Aww...sweet guy, I hope he is feeling better soon!

Good Afternoon, MMC!!! It’s a rainy dreary day here and the temps are falling steadily. I really could just go crawl back in bed. Of course, only getting 3 hours of sleep last night isn’t helping that urge either. I probably shouldn’t have got that 44oz cup of Mountain Dew at the gas station last night. Lol!! Nothing to exciting happening here. I may finally venture out towards Indy. They say they’ve filled 30,000 pot holes this week so far. So it might be a little safer. Then again, they say they still have 130,000 to go.:eek: I hope everyone has a great March 1st and first day of meteorological spring!!!
I hope you got some sleep last night, Made..have a great Friday and weekend!

Aww....thinking of you Holiday...it is bittersweet. Gracie girl will always be in your heart.

Morning MMC. TGIF on this Nor'easter day. We have heavy flooding rain and wind. We will see some snow later too. Just hope everyone stays safe and doesn't lose power. Have a good Friday and hope you are excited for the weekend ahead!
Stay safe, Edge...be careful driving in this weather.
I am hoping for no power outages either!

Merry Friday!

Stay dry, HMG!! Hope you get a nap in with Rocky..perfect day for it!

TGIF!! Looks like a storm of rain, wind and turning to snow later. My daughter is supposed to have her final b-ball game tomorrow morning (yay!) but we'll see based on the snow we get...we are only supposed to get 1-3 inches but who knows?
I am working today and relaxing tonight...we don't have too many plans for the weekend. My oldest has a sweet 16 party tomorrow night and my youngest asked if I could bring her and her friend to a movie.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning, Weekend Eve Revelers!
And the fact that we have reached the last day of the work week isn't the only thing to revel in.

There is also this tidbit of news:
Days to the Season: 256
Days to Christmas Day: 298

Well Folks, the 300-Day Christmas Day Window is now in the rear-view mirror.
Which, of course, means we need to turn out sights toward the next Milestone marker, the 4th one on our list.
Let's check.
Well, what do you know?
It just can't be......yet it IS.
On March 15, just 13 days from today's date, we will be 1/3 of the way to Christmas Season 2018. Just let that sink in a bit -- ONE THIRD!
And in less than two weeks, too. Nearly down to SINGLE DIGITS, already!
(Wow!!)

Our rainy and somewhat chilly weather continued yesterday.
Today is supposed to be clear but very windy, as we experience the fringes of that major system moving into the NE. The wind could continue tomorrow, as well.
Currently, we are at 46 degrees here in central North Carolina and have already had some significant wind gusts. (I'll have branches to pick up after this is over!)

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
I hope your Weekend starts nicely this afternoon!

Happy Friday, everyone!

It's a wild, wet, windy day here. I was wishing I didn't have to head out to work, but at least the traffic was light. It would have been a great day to stay home, hunker down, and do cozy things.
