Hello all.
Just got back from a wedding and reception. It was a very nice time. Henry had a lot of fun with his favorite babysitter.

Now it is time to working on costumes for the Indy Pop Con that is coming up next weekend. Luckily there is less to do this year than many previous events. Only one big sewing project (Star Trek the Next Generation uniforms) and we are reusing a costume from before, and the other is mostly "regular" clothes with some alterations.

Tomorrow morning, weather permitting, we are going to go to the local Strawberry Festival.

Everyone have a good evening

Ah, the agony of installing the window a/c’s for the summer, followed by the pleasure of a cool shower and cool rooms to relax in ... that annual ritual was today. We should sleep comfortably tonight.
Well after all that work, I sure hope you do! For us, we got to window units here as well. I have to take out of the windows and take them with us when we move to the new place. The home currently does not have any central air system installed; yet! And, It may have to wait a little bit before we think about getting it installed because the price to have it installed, is not cheap. We looked into it, and we were getting quotes like 25-35,000! Soooooo, the window units are already paid for, they work and it sure seems to me, the logical thing todo, is to use them for now in lieu of spending that kind of money.

Every summer I made homemade strawberry jam, peach jam and sometimes cherry berry jam among other things

Ohhhhh, your getting my mouth watering for some of those preserves. I've had strawberry and peach before (which are quite yummy), but I've never tried cherry; sounds scrumptious.

Despite the heat, I still like to bake. The house smells nice and the heat of the oven doesn't really add to the already warm temps. I've made some chocolate bourbon cookies, some rhubarb squares, squashberry cake, and some poppy sesame bread. Some may even last the rest of the week. :)

Now that does sound good! Between you and Minta, my mouth is watering and now my tummy is starting to growl. Think I'll go raid the kitchen and make a cup of tea!

Today was pack, pack, pack, pack, packing day! We got a lot done today and the place here looks like a cyclone came thru here; lol! We got this mountain of boxes all stacked up on one side of the room and the kitties are just loving that. They are playing hide and seek and king of the mountain on and in them. They are so darn cute.
My backs a little sore, but other than that I'm getting a little tired now, so I've called it a night and am going to just relax a bit. I hope everyone had a nice day and I wish ya all and even better one for tomorrow!

I usually watch the weather pretty close, but this snuck up on me. Storms brought a cold front through last night around 9...I woke up this morning to let my dogs out...and it is 67.

Needless to say, I am outside with the dogs drinking coffee. There is a slight breeze .....that is just strong enough to carry the scent of the rain that came through last night...

This feels amazing.

Morning MMC. We cooled off significantly overnight. Saturday was a hot and humid summer day. I have my iced coffee & waffle here and am now relaxing. That's the plan for this Sunday...to relax but of course I'll have stuff to do too. Enjoy your Sunday!

Good Sunday morning! It will be another Summer-like day with a strong breeze, a perfect day to hang clothes out to dry. My last day at my old yesterday store was eventful. Aside from being emotional, I wound up staying 2 hours past closing time because the security company had not sent a security guard as planned and we were scrambling for a solution and then I realized that workers remodeling the warehouse had not received the right information and we caught it before it was too late. It felt weird handing over my keys and emptying my work space. Time to move on. Hope everyone will have a great day!

Good morning MMC ~
It’s going to be cloudy and cooler today with a high of 62, we’re currently at 59 degrees. Not too much going on here. I’m looking forward to a relaxing day. I’ll just be working on the laundry and I’m going to make spaghetti and chicken Parmesan for dinner. That’s about it. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Good Morning, Everyone who is Anyone Anywhere out there in the great MMC Nation.
(And of course, that means all of us!)

What makes the MMC Nation so great?
It's a combination of its people and its subject matter.
And the greatest subject we have to discuss this morning, as every morning, is our count status and the proximity of our next pending Milesteone marker.

As such:
Days to the Season: 163
Days to Christmas Day: 205

And do my eyes deceive me, or are we only 5 days away now from the TWO-HUNDRED DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW and the commencement of a double-100's count?
Nope. My eyes do not deceive me, unless the chart is trying to fool us.
(And the chart never fools!)

We continued on into a second full day of no rain yesterday, despite some threatening clouds in the early afternoon.
Of course, the humidity is out is full force and making itself felt far and wide.
Our opening temperature this morning is 73 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Super Sunday and a simply fantastic remainder of your weekend, Everybody!

Thanks Crown! I was thinking yesterday how it doesn't feel real that we're in JUNE already!

Merry Sunday! I am enjoying a lazy Sunday morning and having coffee. My daughter has a game at 1 and then I will be relaxing for the rest of th day. Not sure what we are going to do for dinner..maybe grill out. Hope you all have a great day!

Thanks Crown...hard to believe we are so close to the 100s!

Good Morning! I woke up this morning with this big craving for peanut butter on graham crackers, complimented with a steaming nice hot cup of coffee! And let me tell ya, it's hitting the spot! More packing is in store for today and were going to have to make a grocery store run later on. I sat down and started jotting a few things down to pick up at the store, but as I was going along, the list continued to grow to now it looks like its going to be a full blown grocery trip.

Last week sure was great with having the holiday and then a four day work week, but this week, back to the ole five day work week; oh ya, it'll it seem like a long one to boot to. Do you ever get to a point in the year where you go, I need a staycation, get paid for it but yet not count against your saved vacation time? Yes, I know, I need to drink more coffee to wake up from this waking dream I am still having....

Good morning .. we went from a hot and humid summer day to a very cool, crisp and breezy fall day. Over a 20 degree drop in temps but I will take it. They are calling for temps in the cooer 60s to the upper 70s for the next week. I shut the AC off and opened all the windows, love hearing the leaves rustle in the breeze. Temps like this call for a oven roasted roast beef for dinner so thats the game plan for dinner. Got to finish the laundry and tiding up around here then relax for the rest of the day ... Who am I kidding. I will probably bake something LOL. Have a great day!

I get what you mean. My workplace has been SO busy with heavy volumes of work, often on short deadlines, that I think everybody's ready for a break. Some places have "mental health days" that you can take, but I've never worked anywhere that offered them. We just put our heads down, plow through the work, and keep our eye on the weekend ahead.

Glad you're getting a nice break today with the peanut butter on graham crackers! And I'll bet you're really looking forward to being moved into your new home.

Merry Sunday!

We got a much-needed rainstorm this morning, so I went out after it stopped and weeded the carrots and the potatoes. Now I'm working on some research for the store.

Be merry!

Ouch that is a lot of money. I would get a couple more quotes, maybe in the off season.
