Christmas Countdown - 2018

Good evening all. Beautiful temps tonight, going to be in the 60’s and that is just dandy to me.

We just finished making 2 loaves of banana bread and they are in the oven, baking now. I’m going to relax a little bit and stay up to get me a warm slice of that!!

Isn’t it amazing that we are beyond the half way point of July already? Gosh, before you know it, we will be in August. We decided no vacation this year for us. With buying a home and all the expenses that go along with it, we are going to use any vacation money, for things we need such as furnishings, curtains, and so on. We will take some day trips to do things, but no extended trips any time soon.

Looking forward to the weekend already. I have a ton of things on my mind, that I would like to get done this weekend and I’m excited to do them.

I've already watched a Star Trek movie and several episodes of Star Trek on it.

Oh yea! We love our 65 inch also. Very, very nice!

We take Nathan to the recruiter on Monday the 23rd. We will say our goodbyes then. The recruiter will bus him to Columbus and he will stay overnight there. On Tuesday the 24, in the morning, he will meet with the "counselor" at MEPS (in processing center) to go over everything. One important part is he gets promoted to E2 because of some college credits from high school. He will swear-in again and then they will take him to the airport and he will fly to South Carolina and then be bused to Fort Jackson.

He has 9 weeks for Basic, then 13 weeks at Fort Lee (Virginia) for AIT. He will get to come home for Christmas during that 13 weeks. Then he goes to Airborne school for 2.5 weeks at Ft. Benning and then RAPS (Ranger school) for 9 weeks. Then finally to his station with the Ranger regiment.

Sounds like the adventure of a lifetime. We wish him the best.

Adrian arrived home safely last night, Harlowe and Jazzie were also very happy to see him. It’ll be nice for them to have more company throughout the day.

Good Thursday morning! A day off for me but lots to do. I'm going to get some blood tests done, then I have to run into work to fax some documents (no fax at home) for my husband to get reimbursed for the MRI and physiotherapy he has been doing for his injured shoulder now that his case has been approved (what a relief that approval was!). Then I have to go to my former store to pick up a supply order for our current store and then I'll go shopping for my husband's birthday coming up on Monday. It's going to be another perfect sunny day here, so I get to enjoy that while I'm running around all over the place. Hope everyone will enjoy a great day!

Merry Thursday MMC ~
It’s going to be sunny with a high of 82 degrees. Just a typical day of errands and chores for me. I’ll probably hang out by the pool later this afternoon to enjoy the beautiful weather. I’m going to make friend chicken for dinner with homemade baked macaroni & cheese and corn on the cob. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

Days to the Season: 117
Days to Christmas Day: 159

Then, the latter:
The 100-Day Season Window is now a scant 17 days away.
LESS than HALF a week, Folks.
(Closing in on a major Milestone marker!)

Yesterday was still quite warm, but the humidity was down so it was more comfortable, especially on the front porch in the evening.
Lit my citronella candle and sat back for a good rock while I watched the world pass by.
Today should see a high of about 90, then we drop back into the 80's again.
Low chance of rain today but about a 50/50 shot tomorrow.
Right now, we are at 67 degrees here in the capital city of North Carolina.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone......while visions of Weekend Eve dance in your heads!

Good morning MMC!! Merry Friday Eve!!! So excited for Friday this week!! (like that's different from any other week ) It just seems like it's been a long week!

I am enjoying summer- when it's not unbearable, unfortunately it's either been to hot/humid, or raining/storms most weekends. We've been inside more than we want to be, that's for sure.

It has been a weird weather year...the last several years have been I guess! Our Autumns are generally better weather than our springs anymore. I guess we'll find out what this year brings!
