I lied earlier when I said there wasn't much up for today besides work. At lunch I am getting a house guest for the weekend. Miss Piper...my niece's dog! :D It's going to be interesting!! I hope Lucy doesn't eat her!!!!!!!!

Piper is so cute but I could see her being frightened and nervous around Lucy. Small dogs often are wary of bigger dogs. Hope they'll get along this weekend.

Good morning, Christmas fantatics. For a change, I have an update of my own today. Last evening was too fantastic not to share.

My dear son and daughter-in-law got the whole family together to announce the gender of the child they are expecting this December on my birthday. (It will be great having another Christmas baby in the family!) They are having a boy. This will be our first (of many, I hope) grandchildren. All are very excited to welcome this precious little one into the family!!!

Also, the kids had a conference behind closed doors after the big baby announcement. After they let me and my wife into the room, they told us that they are taking us to Frankenmuth for a day next month to celebrate our 30th anniversary. A day of all of us hanging around and enjoying the city (BRONNER’S!!!!) and ending with a room all to ourselves at Zehnder’s for a chicken dinner, conversation, and games.

Life is good!!!

Congratulations to your son and DIL!! How exciting to be a first-time grandparent!!

What a great anniversary present ~ have fun in 'Muth, especially at Bronners!!!!

Hello everybody. I've been away a long time and lots changes for us. Our son graduated college in May and married in June. I retired the end of June.
We are blessed. Our son and his wife will be living only 30 minutes away. Teaching at a Christian school in Bryson City, NC.
I hope to be here a lot more now. Have a blessed day.

Good to see you, mgramsey!!
Congratulations to your son on his wedding!
Congratulations to you on your retirement!

I heard on the radio this morning that Santa, Mrs. Claus and some of the elves paid a surprise visit to the local Shriners children's hospital yesterday, to distribute gifts to the kids for Christmas in July. Nice!

That is awesome!

Hello all.

Tonight at football practice we had a guest visit practice. A.J. Oulette, which I doubt anyone on near knows, but in Covington, OH is a BIG deal. A.J. is currently at Ohio University (Bobcats) and plays football. He is from Covington and went to OU as a walk-on football player. By the end of that summer he was given a scholarship. He started rotating at Running back in Week 1 and was the starter, as a Freshman, by mid-season. His sophomore year he was the starting running back and named Team Captain, the first sophomore in team history. He was injured that year season in the first game, but came back and had a good year last year. He is still healthy and expected to have a big year. It was neat for him to come to practice tonight and talk to the kids.

If you watch college football keep an eye out for him this season. He gets mentioned on ESPN from time to time and recently did an interview with them.

Look what else came in the mail today...

25 Disney Christmas stories!! Looks really cute!! I might have to order several more. Lately at our family baby showers instead of giving a card, we're supposed to bring a kids book! I've been bringing "The Pokey Little Puppies 1st Christmas" which is really cute too ~ I'll have to check this one out! (Oh darn)

I like this ideal a lot! I may have to order some too! Thanks for sharing Holiday!

Holy Moly!
Was walking at Crabtree Valley Mall this afternoon and look at what I saw!

I talked with the staff lady at the information booth and she said the mall is going to celebrate "Christmas in July" and that Santa himself will be out there this weekend!
(Naturally, I'll be there with camera in hand.)
Crabtree has never done this before in it's 46 years!

Awesome Crown! I Love, love, love this. The set up is just beautiful!
I wonder, hmmmmm, I wonder if Santa will show up in red shorts or be wearing the full costume?

Stay cool!!
It is always fun to see the holiday displays start showing up in stores!! I still need to get to Ben Franklin!
Hope you're having a great day!

I don't think that I've ever heard or seen a Ben Franklin store before. So, I went online to check them out and I found out that the Ben Franklin Stores and Ace Hardware stores are owned by a company called Housemart (or something like that). Very Interesting.

Me, too. Love Menard's! And their spooky town Halloween village!
I feel like a kid again walking through the Enchanted Forest when their Christmas trees are on display. Love it.

I had to do the same thing, I never heard of a Menards before. So I went online and discovered that, there are no stores in New England or Mid-Atlantic areas. Looks like they are more centrally and Northern located throughout the country.
