I don't really get into that much. I have a witch for the front door and that's about it.

I love Halloween!! There was a time back in 2002,03,04,05 that I got so much into halloween and the fall season I got depressed when It was over,I liked it even more than christmas...I decorated my house and yard(still do) but around 2006 I really started to get into all the Holidays(thanksgiving,Christmas) I love horror movies, you name it I probably have on dvd. I think I love it so much because as a kid My mom never let us kids participate in anything to do with Halloween. So when i grew up I guess I over compensate I dunno.lol I have orange lights, fiber optic pumpkins I get at the cracker barrel restuarant...and I love handing out candy while watching horror movies...I even take 2 weeks off the end of october to take time off and enjoy the Fall!!! It's just a magical time of year that kicks off the Holidays as far as I am conscerned!!

I am meh about Halloween. I like it because I'm really in the spirit, I love weather, and I like harvest decor, but I really hate the whole trick-or-treating thing. I wish I could just buy the kids candy and call it a day, ha!

When we lived in town we "did" Halloween up right! We had between 80 & 125 trick-or-treaters, depending on the year. We lived there for 6 years & loved every Halloween there. DH decorated the porch with pumpkin, ghost, & Frankenstein lights, spider webs, flying bat, luminary Halloween bags on the lawn, a graveyard in the yard, ghosts hanging up, Halloween cartoons playing on the porch. Both sets of our parents would come over for homemade chili & sandwich & we'd just hang out for a couple of hours & hand out candy. Loved it! I think we went overboard because neither one of us had trick-or-treaters where we lived growing up.

When we moved to our home now (where DH grew up), we've had one trick-or-treater, not counting neice & nephew who came one year. Now that we have DD, we take her to Halloween in the City. The downtown businesses & churches set up tables with candy and you just walk the streets. The only house we go to is DH's great-aunt, who keeps DD after school.

In '11, I took DD to my parent's house after school so they could see her in costume (20 minutes from our house). We surprised DH's parents & took DD to see them after going to Halloween in the City (45 minutes from our house.) In their subdivision, they won't let you drive in unless you have proof that you live there. The volunteer fire department blocks the entrance. Everyone has to park on the side of the highway & walk in to the subdivision. They have hundreds of trick-or-treaters. They complain about it every year, but DH & I would love it!! We know a guy who is in the fire department & he let us drive in & park at their house.

DD has never gone door-to-door trick-or-treating. I never liked going door-to-door as a kid, so I don't think she's missing anything. I bought two costumes at consignment last year for DD to wear. She wore the Supergirl costume last year, but I'm afraid the '50's poodle skirt outfit will be too little by this Halloween. I'm sure with her big imagination, she'll come up with something good!

Halloween is our #2 Holiday. We decorate the house almost as much as we do for christmas. Usually, it will take me about a week to get all the decorations up and lit, tested and then on halloween night, I have bats flying around outside, lights lit in the yard, bushes, on the house, fog machines going, scary music/ sounds blarring and about 30 pounds of candy in a witches cauldren waiting for all the kiddies to stop by.

We have people making special trips just to see the house...Can't wait....

And It's tradition, we must watch "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown", every year....

I love Halloween, but don't decorate for it per se. I decorate more for fall. I love country decor, so I decorate for fall and have a lot of scarecrows and that type of decor. I really get into the holiday though and do a lot with my kids though. Halloween is my second favorite holiday and fall is my favorite. I can't wait!

Yeah, I like halloween more because of the season than Halloween itself. I do like me some horror movies, though!

Bellville gets slammed with kids from all over the county on Halloween because it's (trying to be as modest as possible here) THE NICEST COMMUNITY AROUND!

:D

:devil:I'm all for making Halloween a National Holiday and that way we could have the day off and paid for it as well...

I love Halloween! It's my favorite holiday after Christmas. I just love everything from the scaring to the costumes to the trick or treating...So much fun!

I love love love Halloween...I like the weekend before because the wife and I usually cook a meal and say up late and watch scary movies...fun.....

On Halloween night, we have a tradition over the past five years of going to Mom's, eating Pizza, and giving out candy. It's just kinda a kickoff of the season to me....

Not a lot of decorating, though.....save that for Thanksgiving and Christmas...

Halloween is my second favorite holiday, I do some spooky baking like witch finger cookies

We decorate the outside ... organge lights, fall leaves garland, hay stacks with pumpkins and scarecrows, purple lights, 3 light up blowmold pumpkins, 2 different halloween pumpkin inflatables ... We carve pumpkins a day or 2 before halloween.

Inside I have various types of pumpkins - that I decorate through out. I am thinking about adding ornage ligts and fall garland to the inside this year... we shall see.

We have alot of cute (non scary) halloween movies that we sit and watch with the kids during the month of Oct.

Hubby will stay home to hand out candy.. some years he will dress up if he feels up to it and the weather ... I take the kids around our neighborhood.

We used to drive them all over to friends and family but that got to be too much .. now we only drive them my dads, hubbys dad and a friends after they go trick or treating through the neighborhood.

Our kids are already thinking of what they want to be for halloween. Trying to talk one of them into letting me dress them up as a Christmas Present but so far its a nope.

After Halloween ... the pumpkins come down and the inflatable turkey goes up outside.

My family loves Halloween! I decorate the entire house with pumpkins and such. I have to keep it pretty kid friendly for now, maybe when my kids get a little older they'll be more into the spooky stuff! We love to go trick or treating and we always go to Seaworld to check out the haunted forrest. I make chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and bake all kinds of goodies. I'd say it's defiantly my second favorite holiday! I'm looking forward to it this year.

I love Halloween. We do a lot of decorating inside and out. We always have a lot kids come for trick or treat because we're in a safe, quiet neighborhood.

Well, According to Real Halloween.com, as of today, there is about 5 month, 6 days left untill Halloween....

:boo:

I loved reading all of your replies. Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year right behind Thanksgiving and Christmas. To me, as it was mentioned here, is the kick off to the Christmas season!

I know some like the gory stuff but I don't care for that side of it. I know it's part of the Halloween tradition for some, just not for me. :D I do decorate with witches, ghost, Frankenstein, etc. but they are not the scary looking ones, more folksy looking. I have a lot of scarecrows too. I decorate the outside with pumpkins, Halloween wreath, lights and an inflatable haunted house. If I am at home to pass out candy I play scary sounds on my CD player. That's about as scary as it gets at my house. =)

I take my grandchildren to the Halloween carnival at the elementary school I use to go to every year. I have so much fun and it brings back so many memories when I was a kid.

It is an absolute MUST to watch, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, numerous times in October. I watch it even when the kids are not at my house. =)

I wish it was that time of year already! :scarykitty:

I love Halloween! We always have a trunk or treat and fall festival at our church that everyone really enjoys. My husband and I carved pumpkins every year we dated and now since we got married and moved
Closer into town we will have a lot more decorations and trick or treaters this year I hope!
