How much do you use your blog to spread news of new music?

I create a page every year of new releases, and try to keep it updated throughout the season. Some years, I do better than others.
It seems a given that the stream is going to play new stuff. But with 600-700 a hear I would think it would take more for an artist to get some traction
I also do some guest blogging in October, usually, to promote the new season
What about podcasts?
I haven't done any, yet. I tried to add some prerecorded interview to the stations about five years ago, and that was a tune out. Trying to set up a separate podcast thing, but not sure if I'll have time. And I don't want to set it up and only do one or two.
The last three years have seen a ton of new podcasts come out
I would think that if you have conversations with the right kind of artists you could steer them to some of th better podcasts out there

From the first of Oct I'm running
And as we get into October, it's close to a full time job
and I don't have time to do justice to the great new stuff I see coming out
Minus full time pay, of course
But, if I got a note from you about an artist I'd take it far more serious than people trying to get to me other ways
I get hit up not only iwht music, but also books, videos, etc. It's very overwhelming and I need resources to cut through the noise
I feel the same about a lot of Christmas bloggers I follow. It helps wade through the piles of new stuff.

The further along the year progresses you really have less time for stuff
