So I've always also been an enormous movie buff, and have always wanted to do a movie podcast. And one day, after listening to a few of the ones that came before us - which really had nothing to do with movies and television specials for the most part - it just clicked to combine my love of film with my love of Christmas. And that was the launching point of the podcast. Like Thom said, we met on Reddit, he introduced me to Julia, and the rest is history.

Movies and TV in general were big for me as a child of the 80's and Christmas was no exception. I loved the feels I got from them. I started collecting Christmas things early on in high school and would watch movies and music year round. I wasn't allowed to listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving so I think some of it is rebellion ;)

Seriously - it's impossible to talk about the success of our show without acknowledging the huge amount of luck that went into the chemistry the three of us just had, nearly from the beginning. There were so many ways it could have gone wrong, but it ended up going so right. And honestly, the best call that @maximos and i made early on when we connected was agreeing that we needed a woman to join us, because it would never have worked just the two of us. And @Julia_Tis_the_Podcast was the perfect choice. She's amazing, and brings that holiday warmth and cheer every week, and keeps us in line. She's the favorite of all of our listeners - which she denies knowing, but deep down, we know she knows it's true haha.

I agree - finding a female voice to balance us was very intentional

HA! Well I was born in September 1989. But I grew up on the Rankin/Bass classics. I have huge nostalgia for Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus is Comin to Town, in addition to the Peanuts and the Grinch. In terms of film - Santa Claus the Movie, The Santa Clause, Elf, A Christmas Story, Jim Carrey's Grinch; I didn't get into Home Alone or Christmas Vacation until much later on. So while I'm the youngest elf, I definitely grew up on most of the classics.

We've tried to hold out with some classics, but after 3 years, it's getting harder and harder not to cover them. We've covered everything Anthony mentioned
