I'm using the computer at the library (don't ask why.) So it is taking me a long time to get back to AuntieMistletoeDear -- yes- please join us on all fun outings to the Outback - and everywhere! Mistleto - I LOVE the idea of Whiskey Slush! That opens up all sorts of other "slush" possibilities! Yay!

So - I propose - dinner out for all who care to join in -- followed by a movie at the MoviePlex! I have seen both Batman - The Dark Knight and Mama Mia this week! Both are wonderful! I would happily see both again.

So - lets fill our calendar this week with all sorts of fabulous fun -- even if it IS only make-believe. Reality is too hot and humid and BOR-ring right now!

I think we should all get imaginary manicure-pedicures (mani-pedis for the men's information - and they get to get them too!) Well, back to reality. At leaswt the days ARE dwindling down in the right direction...

A Good Afternoon Fiends!

It finally stopped raining...week-end was a total wash out. Rain, solid, both days...the kind that comes straight down, hours upon hours. Oh yeah, and 1000% humidity. Towels never dry, depression looms...but, the beer was ice cold...so who cared? But, after a couple of solid days of rain, I lust for that brilliant blue and that old Mister Sun...

You know Sparklenana, I stopped enjoying movies at multi-plexes years ago. Cell phones got popular and people left their manners at home. I just can't relax...I feel like any second the phone will ring! But the thought was nice!

That movie,"MmaMia"~ OMG, it looks absolutely horrid! Merle Streep, how could she? I hear a critic say that if a Water Buffalo could sing, it would sound like Pierce Brosnan.!!! LOL!
I WOULD like to see Dark Knight, I hear it is fantastic. I have always liked the acting of Christian Bales (Batman)....and of course, Heath Ledger is great.

YABBA!
:treeguy:

Cedar - did you hear Meryl Streep being interviewed re Mamma Mia???

Her reasoning why she took the part...............

So she could embarrass her children!!!!!!!!

I like the way she thinks!!

cheesy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See?! She knew the picture was doomed from the start, she had to save face!

I agree on that Mama Mia movie.. Meryl Streep should be whisked away to the shispering pines to enjkoy a fired twinkie...

YABBA.. boogie on down.....

No! No! No, no, no, nooooo! I personally have always HATED Meryl Streep. But she was FABULOUS in "The Devil WEARS Prada!" Amazing! And she is DOUBLE fabulous IN mAMA mIA! rEALLY! fOR TRUE!

tHERE are SOME THINGS IN LIFE THAT ARE JUST GOOD AND HEART-WARMING. yOU WOULD not BE ON THIS BOARD IF YOU DIDN'T THINK SO! That movie, Mama Mia, IS SO GOOD! Really!

AND - the Batman movie is also So Good! Batman has been done a lot of time. Jack Nicholson did it as a charicature. It was good. But Keither Ledger does The Joker as a genius! His performance is unbelieveable! His performance is better than the special effects -- and the special effects are inicredibly good!

Yes - multi-plexes are horrible places. However - we are currently in a place a million times worse than a multi-plex! Impossible? Sadly, not. We are currently residing in a horrendous place with almost NO air conditioning. One tiny cell has air conditioning. So -- going to the multi-plex was a TREAT! Remember -- everything in life is relative!

Binger -- are you going to tell me that you actualloy saw the movie Mama Mia -- and that you thought it stunk? I think you DID NOT SEE IT.

I woulld just like to remind the people on this board that some of us ARE IN THE LIBRARY. aND THE LIBRARY closes. And the librarian puts us out - on the street! So we cannot always answer quickly.

:hello: Well, I made it through the first day back to work after my holidays.

Thanks for the invite, Sparkle. Between the Shispering Pines and the Outback and secret visits with Carl the Camel and a Christmas in July expedition to the North Pole, I'm keeping quite busy.

I don't comment on movies I've never seen, but I'm sure I'd rather see Mamma Mia on broadway than in a movie.

After my last movie outing, I think I can wait until the movies come to me.

 Hey, on Friday I'm heading down to the waterfront for to help a friend in a 4-5 year old camp supervise the children as they visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus down at the Winter Wonderland Carousel. Methods to my madness, I'll catch a few pics of Santa and maybe even get an Christmas wish list item out there - nothing like starting early.

Enjoy the rest of your evening. Keep a jolly thought in your head.

Right you are, my friend. Two weeks from today is the 100-day marker.
The full count:
Days to the Season: 114
Days to Christmas Day: 156
....and you know how fast things will move once we get down to double-digits!

A warm and humid 77 here in Raleigh at this hour. We are officially predicted to reach 100 degrees by this afternoon!
But then several days of cooler, rainy weather.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, everyone!
Get your hiking boots on. We climb to the peak of the week tomorrow!

Hey, Cedar! You and I have EXACTLY the same number of posts!

Good afternoon! I'm a little slow today!!! Thanks for the reminder Crown...I'll get my boots out now! Ha ha!!

Auntie...glad to hear you made it through your 1st day back to work after a holiday! That's tough, isn't it??? Can be a really long day!! :hello:

I don't think I told you yesterday that I am great aunt again!! My niece had a baby girl Saturday night ~ Hailey Jo! She is so cute in pictures...can't wait to hold her! This is my 1st great niece ~ I have 2 great nephews. So, we're all pretty excited & they live really close, so we should get to see her a lot! :)

Is everybody enjoying some Christmas activities this week....Christmas In July??? I have been kinda busy & haven't even watched a Christmas movie yet this week! Hopefully tomorrow night after we decorate for the CIJ party!

Have a good day all!

Hi and greetings to all!!!! Mistletoe - congratulations on an adorable baby relative! That will be so much fun at Christmas. I am off to listen to a local mystery writer tonight. I haven't read any of his books yet and he has published plenty! I think it will be fun to hear him. I do like to read mystery stories -- not horrible bloody stories. But intriguing fun stories which take you away from your day-to-day routine!

Christmas in July is getting close. I guess it's going to be QVC and me.

Hi guys!!! Sorry for my absess, I mean abscence lately...Seems like everytime a settle in to read and post I start tinkering with the radio stuff and suddenly it's time to head off and not a post was logged...Not tonight my dear ones...I'm posting and reading and enjkoying...Dreaming of twinkies and pines and Bea Arthur...Hey did you see that Estelle Getty died this morning??? She played Bea's mom on The Golden Girls...And she's a year younger than Bea!!! What ever happend to Bea...She's so old now, she's gotta be a "C" right? I have taken to raiding the CD collections of all my friends so I can add to the MCR (sorry Dom) library for future shows...Music is on my mind, in my heart and flowing through my veins...I can't get it out of my head...Brahms...Beethoven...Jagger...Spears...All the classics...So I'm gonna Boogie on Down, practice my triple lux and get started on this weeks show...For any of you agnostics out there...Steer clear of this one...It's all religious music...There's room for that too right??? So...Glad we had this time together...See ya soon...CAPTAIN RADIO AWAYYYYYYYYYY......

Good evening everyone !!!

Hope everyone had a good day. Or as Jay would say - I hope you all are "enjkoying" the great weather. 70 - 75 degrees today here in Chicago. I sorry but I'm still looking forward to the SNOW !

All is well with my son in Iraq, they are working him to death. 14hr days and he might get a day off in 2 or 3 weeks. His work schedule is worse that mine !

Later . . . .

Wow!

I actualloy enjkoyed reading the recent posts. I've never been kicked out of the library before...

Jayster, of course you were talking about THE tenor Steven Paul Spears of the Deutsche Oper Berlin fame? My goodness, how Die Meistersinger of you! Your musical tastes range above and beyond! But, tell me which Jagger composition you speak of!....LOL! Ahhhh Heck Jay, I think the best Rolling Stones music was with Brian Jones...that early stuff...the flowered shirt, pointed toe boots, striped pants era. Circa 1960 something.

Oh and Bea Arthur. I had a boss who looked and talked just like her. Scared the pantyhose off me. A man-woman. She asked me to go get a drink after work with her and I said I had to wash my hair...I mean...What the??? No thanks, sorry. I ran home and hid under my bed.

YABBA! YABBA! YABBA!!
Horrible Movies!!!!!!!!!!! ABBA! YABBA! ABBA!!
