Good day all! Just got home from the local egg hunt at the city park. Daughter had a good time and found about 12 eggs as well as some chocolate foiled eggs. I just started my broccoli and cheese dish for tomorrow and plan to make lemon meringue pie and a chocolate orange bundt cake. So much for trying to get a nap in...*L I hope everyone is having a super Saturday!

:hello: Merry Christmas and Happy Easter or Weekend to you slg-good to see you again.

You're making me hungry Annette, thankfully I've already had dinner.

Days to Christmas Day 277

A happy Easter to one and all!
May your chocolate rabbits be tasty and your coffee be fresh to the last drop.

Chilly outside in Raleigh at this hour.
We are standing at 45 but with lots of sun.

My nieces are 17 and 15 but still like Easter egg hunts so my sister and I will set one up for them.
In fact, we had better get going on that little project!

Have a Super Sunday, everyone!

THE OPERA ( Part XXVIII) ( cause I love you guys..)

Act One: Setting The Shispering Pines Motel/ Coffee Shop/Banjo Repair Shop

Curtains open to reveal the Shispeing Pines Coffee Shop. Binger enters and is giddy beyond belief and sings a beautiful aria entitled.." Ode to the Blend of The Day.." Cedar enters and pours them a cup of coffee while adjusting her Dusty Wig/ She then stands on top of the counter and sings the aria " Ohhh what a beautiful morning.. ohh what a look of love....is the Shispering Pines Coffee Shop..."- Sila sings the world shortest opera with two words..
" Merry Christmas.." Maureen is seen in the background huddled over a sewing machine singing an aria " ode to the plaid tablecloth.." Jay enters and dances a paus du lux entitled
" Fix my banjo please.." There is obviously great joy and happiness, especially when Auntie enters from the back room and announces in aria that as chef she is placing Fired Twinkies as the special of the day.." The house lights go up and every one breaks into a paus du lux entitled " Sugar: Body's natural substitute for diabetes.." ( end Act One).

Act Two: Opens again with the Shispering Pines Coffee shop. Binger is seen still sitting at the bar with 100's of coffee cups around them. The beautiful singer Cedar is seen making shakes as she fixes her Dusty Wig and singing the aria " Ode to Aqua Net.." Annette enters and asks via aria if her banjo can be fixed in order to wear it as an Easter Bonnet. Just as Jay prepares to dance a paus du lux with new partner dom.. Crown enters ( lights dim, children scream, women get up and run out of audience.. fog rolls in, rain begins pelting the audience... Dusty wig goes limp... coffee goes cold.. paus du lux stops dead.. funeral dirge begins palying) and announces in broken aria that they have used their life savings that once padded their mattress to buy the Shispering Pines complex and thus, they are closing the Coffee Shop/Banjo Repair Shop inorder to expand.. what else, the bedrooms in order that they might sleep in a different room each morning/noon/night. Lights dim as Binger is seen screaming in pain as a "closed sign" is placed on the coffee urn. ( end Act Two).

Act Three:
Opens with the former patrons of the Shispering Pines complex sitting on the curb outside playing the "Look for a License Plate from Idaho.." game ( except for Binger who is curled in a ball going into withdrawl). Cedar's wig is limp from lack of Aqua net. Auntie tries to cheer everyone up with a batch of Fired Twinkies but no one is interested. Crown enters and sings an aria entitled " Ode to a Bulldozer who is going to expand my bedroom capacities.." The crowd all boo and begin throwing fired twinkies at them. Everyone simultaneously gets up and dance a paus du lux entitled "Ode to a collapsing real estate market.." However, the fired twinkies begin falling into a special pattern and everyone realizes the opportunity at hand. A giant " we can do it poster" falls from the sky as a backdrop.. ( end Act Three)

Act Four: ( finale)

Opens with a NEW Shispering Pines Coffee Shop/ Banjo Repair/ Paus Du Lux teaching studio, built entirely out of Fired Twinkies. Binger is seen singing the aria " Who needs a Motel.. or sleep.. or food for that matter... JAVA is the nectar of life..." The patrons all gather around her and sing along even Maureen who is seen huddled over a world map while humming the aria "Tomorrow: I'll slip cover Canada in plaid and continue my world domination.." Jay is seen teaching a paus du lux with students slg/rena/iron eagle/ gracie/momaduke/holiday entitled " New York Politics: Dysfunction or just Plain Nuts.." the curtain closes as the crowd all take turns prank calling Crown's room and singing an aria entitled" Your mattress has ben recalleed due to entyozymenes.."

I hope you all have a blessed Easter, surrounded by family, friends, good food & cheer! I have cinnamon rolls in the oven now for my hubby & me, my MIL has decided to have an Easter lunch (oh joy ~ that means 3 Easter parties on my hubby's side of the family...I love um all, but....) and then we are heading to my sisters. I made up a few Tastefully Simple things to bring ~ Cool N Creamy Cucumber dip (served w/ veggies & crackers), a mexican layer dip using the corn & black bean salsa, & I made Nana'a apple cheesecake w/ caramel sauce! Mmmm, mmmm! I am dreading the dieting I'll have to do next week! Lol! It's supposed to snow this afternoon & tonight...that surely doesn't mean snow for the next 7 Sunday's, does it???

ENJOY your EASTER Sunday!!

Happy Easter Everyone. I hope everyone had a great day today. Cooked dinner for everyone today & is finally sitting down.

Way to go Binger! I missed the indepth discussion of my tights in this episode but overall another triumph!
By the way...Thanks to a weeks worth of the flu, I'm now twelve pounds lighter...Another twenty to go!!! I'd rather do that the old fashioned way...Diet and excercise...

Happy Easter all, and thanks Binger...I love you man/ma'am

Ah! Another masterpiece! I can sleep well tonight (even though I am begining to percieve my character as a bit Darth Vader-like!)
And of course the Shispering Pines is the perfect setting!
Mrs. Folgers is smiling at you.

Wow! I am humbled. What an amazing Opera and it incorporates all that opera should have - fun, thrills, chills, adventure, coffee, wigs, fired twinkies, dancing, banjos and last, but by no means least, plaid tablecloths.

Move over Puccini - Bingster's in da house (that's OPERA house)!!!!!!!!!

Ah! I feel a slogan coming on: "Opera House - Good to the Last Line!"

Days to Christmas Day 276
On we move to the half way Season mark, now well under 2 months away.
Now that winter is past, the count will probably seem to move along faster than ever as everyone gets busy with Spring/Summer projects and time slips away.

The nieces (and the rest of us, too) enjoyed our Easter Sunday.
Today is my older niece's actual birthday and we are all having supper at "Ruby Tuesday's" at the mall in her honor.

Rain threatens this morning but no stormy weather is predicted.
It was 42 when I left for the office.

Have a Marvelous Monday, guys!

Yes, our Crabtree Valley mall has a giant Easter Bunny, too.
He (She?) even uses part of Santa's stage set.
And I agree - it's just not the same.
(Needless to say, the lines of kids waiting to see the Bunny are much, much shorter that the ones to see our Big Guy!)
