Still no sign of merchandise in the stores here.. I am told that Wal mart- Target- etc- big box/chain stores, all get their stock in after 4thof july- usually Garden Ridge starts stocking this time of the year with their huge display- hmmm maybe everyone is busy getting a starbicks blend and a fired twinkie- too busy hanging as the shispering pines....

So Little Time

This Countdown is going too fast. I've got too much to do. Get football tickets for my son's Xmas present, make clues for the Xmas present scavenger hunt, make jar cookie mixes for the kids et al, start cards, plan party menu, start buying gag gifts for the office workers from the thrift store, finish Christmas wreath made of pinecones (started last year), finalize gift list, order a savings bond for grandchildren, etc. etc. etc. To heck with mowing the lawn, got more important stuff to do.

Well I just got back from taking mom to have her stiches taken out and now I am going to sit back and watch HSN's christmas in july. Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!

that is good, means she is healing well. How is she doing with getting around now?

you know....i've never had a fried twinkie...ever....i must be missing out...i'm going to have to try one this year at the fairs that come around....

hope this finds everyone doing well....i know this is hard to believe....but we start school one month from tomorrow (teachers)...i can't believe it...

on a sad note....tomorrow i have to attend a funeral of a 16 yr. old student who was tragically taken away from this world far too soon...although you don't know them....please pray for the parents and family of this child....and count the blessings that you have in your life b/c we sometimes forget how much worse it really could be.....

good morning....my neck is sore...must have been laying wrong....annoying but well...not so terrible.

today kandice has her second day of practise for pre-school....so far she enjoys it....running around, playing with the toys....sliding, climbing......I am not sad, yet....but I know on the first day of Kindergarten (pre-school in Germany starting between 2-3 however You want it) I will shed some tears....my baby is so big now

on a sad note....tomorrow i have to attend a funeral of a 16 yr. old student who was tragically taken away from this world far too soon...although you don't know them....please pray for the parents and family of this child....and count the blessings that you have in your life b/c we sometimes forget how much worse it really could be.....

My prayers are with the family and everyone whose life this student touched. I have attend funerals for 2 of my former bus passengers. Always sad to have a young life taken so early.

You are so right about counting our blessings, we don't do that often enough.

Well, you understand Star that Carl's FIRED twinkies are not the same as fair FRIED twinkies.
Carl's are mouth-watering good, especially if washed down by sweet southern iced tea while rocking on the back porch of the Shispering Pines. (I've heard they don't go quite as well with cough-ee, however!)

Good morning friends! Happy Friday Eve!!!! :grin: It's been a great morning so far... Remember The Night was on at 7:30 on TCM & now The Great Rupert is on!! I am at work...I have TCM on, but I'm not getting to watch much, but I'm trying. I'm enjoying the Christmas music in the movies anyway!

ballcoach - sorry to hear you have to do such a sad thing today! That's so tough! Prayers going up!

I am in a recipe swap through Taste Of Home & we had a Christmas In July swap this month. I rec'd some excellent candy recipes & a nice Christmas letter from a girl in Mississipi! I just finished writing her back b/c I enjoyed her letter so much. I told her about this site, so maybe she'll come join us too! She sounds like she would fit right in here! This has me feeling all Christmassy today!! :razz:

Good Thursday morning, everyone!

I just got back from vacation. We had a blast! We went to the Smoky Mountains (as usual) and had a great time! I visited 3 different Christmas shops this week, buying some ornaments and Perry Como CDs...cheesy I love the classic music!

If you haven't been to Dollywood, you need to go!

It's fun to go on vacation, but it's great to get home, too!
