Christmas Countdown - 2009

MERRY CHRISTMAS ....It has been an honor and a blessing to have counted down to this wonderous day with all of you!!! I look forward to counting down the days again come January 1st.

It has been a wonderful day here, just finished cleaning up from dinner, the kids are still excited over all their new toys. Will be heading the kids off to bed shorty so we can relax. Have to get up ealry tomorrow to get everything ready for another family gathering here tomorrow...making a big pot of home made chili for tomorrows celebration!

Had a great day even with some of us being sick. Had a candle light dinner, good wine, excellent company.
Enjoyed popping in here from time to time. I too am happy to be a part of this family and look forward to bringing in the new year and then starting a new count again for 2010!

Good Evening!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day. We had a really good day. My daughter was more than thrilled with all her gifts. I plan to hit the hay early tonight I'm tired it's been a long day. I don't plan to hit any of the after Christmas sales tomorrow although, I would like to. It's just been sooooo busy I just feel like relaxing. It's nice to see we actually got to the 8,000+ posts mark. Think we can beat it by this time next year? I think so.

Well....as the day is coming to an end....in hindsight....this season was one of the best. I complain because it went so fast, but which one hasn't? I felt as if I didn't get everything done, but which year has that not been true? Worked hard and got unorganized at times, but which year has that not been true?

There are a few certainties about Christmas....we are going to spend alot of time working, cooking, buying presents, and making plans! But one truth is this....it is always a fun few months spending time talking about making those plans, cooking with family, going shopping with your spouse and it, too, is part of the fun.

Christmas is about spending time with others and enjoying their company and we do just as much of that before Christmas as we do on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

For the past three or four months, I have been getting ready and it all paid off in a big way! Christmas 2009 was a success! As the clock winds down and we have almost an hour left of Christmas in central time....some of us have already began looking forward to 2010. But before I do that, I would be wrong if I didn't tell you that I enjoyed this season, my first here, with you! Christmas 2010 will be great! Can't wait!

it´s our second christmas holiday today...and we got a big plan today....we are going to our best Amusement Park in Germany!!!! It´s called Europa Park...and they open from November through I think January 7th....lots of rides for the children, possibility to ice-skate and sleighride, a christmas light parade, christmas shows and on....I will keep you guys updated when we come back

just read that there was an attempted Terror Attack by a Nigerian connected to Al Quaeda on a Delta Airlines flight....Nobody got injured......Thank You Lord for protecting the people on board of this plane.

Hi, Folks.

Crown here just checking in while enjoying my one week vacation from countdowning!

Do not dispair about the passing of Christmas.
We are still within Christmas Season 2009 (Day # 44, by the way) and the countdown to Christmas Season 2010 has been silently running ever since Nov 13. (And just wait until you see how far down it has dropped!)

My family and I had a great time on Christmas Day.
Carl dropped by for a brief visit (and thanks you, Auntie, for remembering him).
And we still have the bowl games and New Year's Eve/Day to look forward to!

We had a great Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we had a fantastic dinner at Red Lobster. I had the bourbon glazed scallops that were to die for. On Christmas Day, we took my MIL to IHOP and had the turkey dinner that was pretty darn good. Then we went back to the "home" and had goodies prepared by the chef there. I had salmon appetizer that was so tasty. The chef told me to take all I wanted and brought out a to-go box that she wanted me to fill up because it would be thrown out if it weren't all eaten. So I did and had it for dinner! YUM!

Amen to that. Christmas is too short...I'm stretching it out well into the New Year. It is the only way I get to enjoy it as most of the build up for me is work, work, work. Now it's my time to savor it.

I love watching the countdown here after the first of the year- we take everything down and feel despair and then- within two weeks.. we see the first milestone.. under 300 days.. and all over again.. we start smiling smugly to ourselves...

Wence....in fact I do...the wife and I are going shopping....and then it's to the house to eat some leftovers and watch any of the 100 hours we taped on DVR....and that is, of course, due to your hard work! Thank you so much!
