Well - wHAT is everyone eating now?

I just had some raw veggies and humus! Yes, yes, I am the wonderful Princess of Healthy Things!!!!! So - now is a good time for me to ask this question, since it is one of the few times I am being very good about food. what about you?
SparkleNana -
This first that comes to mind..i still had ingredients to make my last batch of Chex Mix for the season...still lovin' it...

I recall reading somewhere that Mel Torme was the reason Elvis shot the TV; he was on it at the time!!!
oops...as it relates to reply..

Hahah..i remember what you're talking about..Robert Goulet got a lot of this publicity

Here's what he said in an interview

CA: You know Memphis is an Elvis town and you factor into a local legend.

GOULET: When he shot the television set? He also shot 50 other people. They told me that he had about a hundred sets in the basement. And he'd shoot the **** thing out - you know he was on pills and he didn't know quite what he was doing and he'd BANG! and they'd look at each other and say, "Get another set!" They mention me all the time. I don't know why. I remember once we sat together backstage for two hours. And he was a charming, delightful, delightful man. And at one point I said, "That's a beautiful ring you have there." He said "You like it?" I said, "It's beautiful!"

He took it off his hand and put it on mine. He gave me his ring. And years later all the jewelry I had in my house - I trust everybody. I was brought up to believe that you cannot steal, cheat or lie and I've been stolen from, cheated or lied to all of my life. And so jewelry - who needs it? But this one was something special to me and it's gone.

CA: Somebody took it?

GOULET: I hired a guy to take care of my house when I was gone. I'm so naive it's ridiculous. 'Cause, you know, when we hire people today we do a background check. I didn't do that. . . . I was in Dallas doing something and I got a call from LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department). "We have a Stutz Blackhawk, silver, with gold trim with RGG license plate?" I said "You have it? How do you have it?" "Well, we saw this guy going through Watts driving this car with the window open throwing out hundred dollar bills." He had taken all my jewelry and everything else I had of import and taken my car and driven it down to L.A. But all my good stuff is just gone, finished. It's all part of dying.

CA: So tell me a little more about the Elvis connection. We write so much about Elvis here. What was your reaction when you heard he'd shot the TV?

GOULET: The point is I knew he was not himself so therefore it wasn't anything to do with me. He shot out Mel Torme. He shot out Frank. But I get all the credit.

Hey all!

Is it cold enough for everyone? It hasn't been this cold around here for a long time. Too bad we didn't get any snow, though.

I hope you all stay warm, safe, and healthy.

boy is it cold! everything is frozen, still a ton of snow here.it's like an ice town.Im gonna try to ge to the movies this weekend I wanna see Notorious! man we ate good tonight,I made steak stir fry with white rice, then hubby cleaned up while I waddled over to the computer desk :D Have a great weekend all!!

Mumof2 - Delivery of food is heavenly - when you live in an area that has it! And those delivery people are REALLY earning their tips in this weather!
Yes Ma'am they do! but I had some steak tips in the freezer,so we ate that instead..darn..maybe tomorrow. :)

Hi,
Just wondering what new(just new to you..not necessarily made in 2008) everyone discovered in 2008.....
Well, I took advantage of Rhapsody's 25 free introductory downloads offer to "collect" some Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas songs and add them to my collection.

For Christmas vocals, I love groups, such as the MTC and Mitch Miller.
For instrumentals, I favor strings, such as the Percy Faith orchestra.

That sounds good, Crown84. Very good, indeed.

Also Chex Mix sounds crunchy and good. And steak tips with white rice sounds luscious!

Good food. Good music. Quite content.

And -- eventually one has to go to bed! Sweet dreams to everyone. And I will read the thread tomorrow - to catch up with the chatting!

:tree: Seems a lot of the east and south are getting the snow and
cold temps we got rid of a few weeks ago in the Pacific Northwest. Our
daughter called from Virginia and was saying how very cold it is. The snow was pretty but I think we wouldn't complain if we don't see it until
next year.
Love hearing about the London Museum described earlier. Also sounds like many new Christmas
DVD's and CD's are being enjoyed. I'm still listening to my new ones.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and stays warm and safe.

PS Send Carl up here before they close another Starbucks ! :rudolph:

what´s up....it´s a foggy morning....and the sun won´t come today....instead some snow-rain will come down...but probably more rain....and that´s winter weather I really hate...but I will stay positive tho....weather is weather and the way God wants it...and how the nature needs it....so it´s alright...

I will have to do some work at home today...but not too much.......continue with the Gilmore Girls DVD....I invected my fiance with the Gilmore virus, too...which I think is very, very cool....anyway...hope everyone is doing alright and will have a great Weekend.

boring day for me today, got to catch up on some housework.

i'm hungry but don't know what to eat?

Good morning!!! Happy Saturday!! :D And it's SNOWING outside!!! I have missed you all this week! It's been a busy week...AND my boss hurt his back, so he has been in the office on the computer all week which means I don't get as much computer time! Lol!

Yesterday it was MINUS TWENTY ONE degrees when I woke up! :cold:

You all are making me hungry with all this food talk! Time for a cup of coffee...

Have a great weekend everybody!!

It's not snowing here, Holiday, but it's sure cold enough to do so!
We stand at 15 currently and it was 12 when I got up about 2 1/2 hours ago, so we are not warming very quickly.
At least it's brilliantly sunny with no wind.

Good Morning.
And what a morning it is!
No, I speak not of the cold, but rather to the fact we have reached our first milestone!!
Days to the Season: 300
Days to Christmas Day:342
That's right boys, girls and gender indeterminates - the 300-Day window is here - and what a view! (Hey look! I can see the 1/4 mark less than a month away!! Can you believe it?)
When you focus on the Christmas Season, rather than just Christmas Day, it makes all the difference!

Have a Stupendous Saturday, one and all!
And keep warm.
(Um, well you can at least try.)

.....PS Send Carl up here before they close another Starbucks !.....
Is that official, Sparkling?
I want to be sure before I tell Carl. He gets all excited about these invitations (and hasn't been visiting for a long time).
Beware, though! While Carl's a real nice guy and brings his own coffee, he's a tad narcissistic, as you know!

.....And steak tips with white rice sounds luscious!.....
But if you are visiting a vampire, stake tips and garlic would go even better!
<< Weak, Crown! >>
Sorry. It's Saturday morning and I only got 15 hours of sleep.

Crown,

If you're ever in Salt Lake the 2nd week of December, let me know. Attending to MoTab's annual Christmas concert is a tradition that so few outside of Utah know and appreciate. Christmas just gets better every single year....

OUR FIST MILESTONE!!!!!!!!!

now that has cheered me up! it'll be the season again before we know it cheesy

I didn't even realize it was the 1st milestone today!!! Hooooray!!!!! How exciting is that??? :D

Yes - there are Christmassy feelings going around - because it is our First Milestone until The Season!
