Good Thurday morning, everyone.

Yesterday ended on a frightening note. Around 5:00 pm the football players were practicing at the school where my kids go. School doesn't start until tomorrow, but football practice has been going on for a couple weeks. The school is just a couple blocks from my house.

It was hot, and a storm could be seen approaching, but it was miles away. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning hit one of the players on the field. All the players were knocked down, some unconcious, all hurt. But the player that got hit was unresponsive. He is starting the 8th grade.

A booster was watching practice, saw the lightning strike and ran to the field, performing CPR on the child until paramedics arrived. He was then somewhat responsive, but is in critical condition in a hospital in Savannah, GA. We don't know his condition right now.

The junior varsity practices inside the asphalt track area. I went there after everything was over and can see where the lightning struck the track. It's a scary thing.

Please pray for this child and his family.

Bradmac- All the players and there families will be in my prayers. I can't imagine how scary that must have been for everyone there. Hopefully everyone will recover fully.

Brad - prayers going out to that student, his family and everyone at the school. Such a scary thing to happen.

i hope you enjoy yourself brent, i'm sure you will and the trip will have been worth it.

i'm soooo tired, i haven't stopped this week, it's all go, i'm sick of being busy, i want some rest! hopefully i can chill a bit at the weekend. there is just so much preparing to do for this baby.

Thank you, Johnor. All the support has made me feel please with my decision to attend. Plus, the bride seemed extremely happy when I informed her that I was indeed coming. Just to see her walk down the eye will be well worth it, I am sure.

Good luck preparing for the baby. It's coming so soon!!

Good luck with everything. Only three more posts to go before you reach your goal of 1000 before the baby arrives! :) I am sure the procedure will go smoothly.

Good day everyone.

One more day until our next milestone. As Crown said, it is a fantastic way to end the work week. Hard to believe it's already Thursday. Another day of beautiful weather in Ottawa. We seem to have finally rid ourselves of the rain that plundered for nearly two months and now we are reaching another day of temperatures reaching into the high-80s with humidex. Although I am stuck inside, I am glad some people will get to enjoy this beautiful weather.

Bradmac, that is quite the unfortunate accident. I've recently heard a few stories about similar incidents. My thoughts are with that student. It is a freak accident and I hope that it does not become tragic. It would truly be a horrible way to start the school year. Hopefully he can pull through.

Have a great Thursday, everyone.

Oooh I think Im the first post for today! Its 7:32am and Im at work lol. William had his imunization shot yesterday. Boy did he cry! BUT the baby in the room beside us cried more heh. I have the song "Round, round the Christmas Tree" stuck in my head..haha. Have a great day and remember, tomorrow is FRIDAY!

Hi, I remember how much little ones enjoy those shots.cheesy

@Bradmac....I will keep the family and this boy in my prayers....these things have happened in Germany a few times the last few years...once close to my brother´s place...one of the kid´s was rushed to the hospital...serious and uncertain condition...with serious burns...but he made it....I pray that this boy will make it, too

Bradmac - that is horrible! How scary! I'll be hoping & praying everything turns out ok!

MsChristmas - good luck tomorrow! I can't believe the baby is coming already on Monday! Seems like you just announced that you were expecting! (I'm sure it doesn't seem like that for you!)

Sorry I missed the view at the pines yesterday! It was a busy day at work! I'm sure the view was amazing as always! :-D

Hope you are all having a great day!

The scary part is the same thing happened near here the other day to a mom and two kids out on a soccer field. Same situation with clouds in view, but a long way off and suddenly bang! http://www.thestar.com/News/GTA/article/680181

My prayers are with this boys family and everyone at the school.

Christmasstar, that's terrible! I hope those boys get better soon. I've heard at lunch that this boy seems to be more-or-less ok physically. These was some lung damage, but it did not appear to be life threatening. They are hopeful that his brain was not without oxygen for too long.

You can bet I've learned my lesson about approaching clouds!

Glad to hear the boy seems to be recovering...lightnings are frightfull....makes me want my daughter to do indoor sports...I´ve been playing field hockey on so many cloudy days....never thought anything like that could happen.Thank You Lord for protecting me and the people on the field on those days.
