awwwww ms christmas im so sorry for you xxxxx
morning all xxxxxxxx

Well my Tuesday can only get better! I have been fighting off a cold but this morning I woke up feeling pretty bad. Sore throat, coughing, running/stuffy nose and body aches. My 2 month old son woke up at 4 am and didnt go back to sleep. My parents have to have my 17 year old cat (she was my 10th Birthday present) put to sleep :-? today. Its just been a bad day so I had to come on to my favorite Christmas site to cheer me up!
Always sad to loose a pet, especially one you have had as part of your life for so long.

Hope you are feeling better real soon!

Good morning, everyone!

I wanted to post yesterday but I have been incredibly busy since returning from Montreal on Sunday night. Normally, I would say that the continuation of the countdown has increased my excitement, however, to be honest; I am still coming down from a near all-time high. On Sunday we won the Men’s Canadian University Ultimate Championship! – Not sure if I mentioned it was Nationals for Ultimate (Frisbee).

What an incredible feeling it was. The three day tournament was tough as it included 11 games, including five on Friday. My body is still sore from hitting the ground hard on more than a dozen occasions, but it’s worth it. It’s crazy to think that Carleton University is Canadian National champions. We came up a little too short at the Eastern Championships, but stepped up when it really mattered. Although we had previous lost to the team we faced in the finals on Saturday by a sort of lopsided score of 14-7 – we were even up 4-1 at one point - we were not going to get down on ourselves on Sunday and we would not accept second place. In the end, we defeated the top-seeded University of Western Ontario 15-11 to capture the 2009 Canadian University Ultimate Championship!
Congratulations to you and your team!!

Well done!!!

Good Morning!

12c here this morning!
Did you know that it is School bus driver appreciation day today? So if your kids go on a school bus, make sure you show their driver how much you appreciate that they work hard to keep your kids safe everyday!

School Bus Drivers prayer....

Please, Lord, watch me this day.

Please help me remember to watch all seven mirrors, two dozen windows, eight gauges, six warning lights, six dozen faces, three lanes of traffic and to keep a third eye open for wobbling bicycles and daydreaming pedestrians, especially teen-agers wearing headsets who are in another world.

Please Lord, help me hear all train whistles, truck and automobile horns, police sirens and the two-way radio.

Please also let me hear when one of my students calls for me, and just needs a listening ear.

Please Lord, give me a hand for the steering wheel, the route book, the radio microphone and the turn-signal lever, while being able to hand out kleenexes, pencils, or other things the kids may need.

And Lord, please grant me the self-control to keep my hands away from Johnny's neck when he's pinching and biting Billy, while trying to keep everybody in their seat, and reminding them that sticking their head outside the window is not safe.

And one more thing, dear Lord, please don't let Mary be sick all over the bus.

And finally Lord, please watch over us all so that we can do it again next year.

AMEN

Brent Congrats to you!

Christmasstar Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day cheesy

Thanks to everyone that has said such nice things to me about my beloved Autumn passing. It is such a good feeling to know that there are friends thinking of you at a time like this.

Happy Hump Day!

Brent - Congrats, my friend! cheesy Nothing like coming back from behind and winning!

MsChristmas - I hope you are feeling better now. I'm sorry for your family's loss.

Good Morning, Friends.

Well, our travel plans to the coast had to be postponed until Monday, so yours truly can continue the count until then.
And speaking of that:
Days to the Season: 23
Days to Christmas Day: 65
Wow! Barely over 3 weeks until Christmas Season 2009 begins!

A chilly (but sunny) 46 degrees outside at this hour here in Raleigh, but we are bound for the mid 70's by this afternoon with no rain in sight.

Well, I don't like the sounds coming out of my heat pump outside. Lots of squeeks and scraping noises! Its served well for 24 years but it appears now like it's on it's last legs (or bearings, as the case may be).
I'm not looking forward to THAT expense!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
See you and Holiday at the 'Pines. I'm looking forward to Sweet Southern Tea and that fantastic view of the weekend from the peak of the week!

Happy School Bus Driver Appreciation Day Christmasstar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope it is something minor and that it won't cost much.

I can't belive how close the christmas season is. I will start packing stuff up in about a week to make it quicker to decorate for christmas when the time comes. Today I need to do some paperwork for work and then I need to run to the store. Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I had to include a couple more pix. You shouldn't encourage me!

A vendor was selling these at the Apple Harvest Festival. They are made from 100% recycled aluminum. Neat!

While I was out taking pictures, my family was goofing off in my truck!

Good morning, everyone!

First, I must say thank you to all for the congratulatory messages (Star, Brad, Hoosier, MsChristmas, coach, snowfall and others, sorry if I mmissed you). A national championship is a cool thing. Not sure if I'll ever reach this level again. Good to hear that you won some big games in your time, too, ballcoach.

It's a really nice morning here today. At the moment it's 8C (46F) and we're expecting a high of 10C (50F). Today should be a pretty fun day. My dad is coming to visit. He will be here from this evening at about 4 PM until Monday morning.

Currently, we do not have a whole lot planned with the exception of the Boston Bruins vs. Ottawa Senators hockey game on Saturday night. It should be a great time! It's always fun to bust out the Bruins attire and help my dad cheer them on. My girlfriend will also be accompanying us in Bruins gear for the first time, so that should make it even more fun!

Only 23 days left until The Season! More closely, it's only 21 days (three weeks!!) until my Trans-Sieberian Orchestra concert. Everything is coming up so fast! Obviously, I have lots of school assignments that I need to work on as well. At least Frisbee is done until January now, which means that I actually have some time.

Brad, those new pictures are great, too. Your families looks as if they had a great time! Must be nice to goof off like that as a group! The snowman medallion looks pretty cool, too. Very festive! Hopefully it's not too heavy to hang on the tree because that's where I would put it! Crown, sorry about the pump. My cottage has had that issue a few times and it's never fun! Hopefully it's not expensive at all! Star, Happy School Bus Driver Appreciation Day! Hopefully the kids treat you extra special today!

Well, have a great day everyone. We keep closing in on our favourite times and it appears that the weather is showing signs of the Season throughout North America! Enjoy your Wendesday! The weekend is fast approaching!

Great pics brad. Your family looks like there having fun. I love the ornament and I also like the fact that is made out of recycled materials.

Good morning! HAPPY HUMP DAY!!! The view is gorgeous today, but not looking so hot into the weekend! Wet & cold!!!
