Evening All...Got daughter to her piano lessons today, ate an early dinner tonight. My d/d wants her nails painted so I will be doing that before to long. This week at d/ds school they are having a Dr. Seuss reading week. Mon-Fri they are doing different little things. For example today was Read Me Day and all the kids wore shirts that had print on it. Tomorrow is Pajama day etc...should be fun for all. Have a good evening!!
Pajama Day sounds fun! Maybe my next day off I will stay in my PJ's all day. cheesy
I am off to bed now. Have a goodnight everyone and see you all bright and early tomorrow. I hope the coffee is ready when I wake up. :wink:

I'm also headed to bed. Gotta get up early and get breakfast going, get d/d up and out the door. Then I am headed to the Hot Springs to relax for awhile. When I get home I will go to work and then before I know it school will be out and time to get my kiddo. Night-Night!!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!
I had to take off work a little early yesterday to fix a broken water line at my mom's house. She has a pecan tree orchard with 80 trees, all with underground irrigation. Fixing pipes is becoming a regular occupation with me during the winter!
It's cold and rainy here today. They even said we might get some snow flakes again...but no accumulation. Still, that's unheard-of around here. Snow twice in one winter? Wow!

We are overcast, cool and under the threat of rain here in Raleigh at this hour.
My back door thermometer reads 40 and I doubt it will get much warmer with this cloud cover.
On the positive side, the weather service is predicting low to mid 60's by early next week!
OK, the count:
Days to the Season: 256
Days to Christmas Day:298
Our next Milestone, you ask? (Or even if you didn't)
Why, it arrives March 15. In less than 2 weeks, the 1/3 mark to the Season will be here!

That is a lot of pecan trees! My neighbor has a very large pecan tree in her front yard and lots of the limbs hang over my yard. I get lots of pecans every fall. There are so many pecans that neighbors and kids come and collect bags full. It helps that they pick them up because we just get too many. I know 80 of them would produce plenty!
Good Morning everyone!
We got a rude awaking about 5:30 this morning. Our smoke alarm sounded for about 30 seconds and we all jumped up and the cats were running around like crazy. My dogs just slept! It didn't happen again and everything checked out fine. I was thinking the battery may be going dead but usually it just chirps off and on throughout the day when that is the case and I haven't heard it since. I might just change it anyway.
My grandchildren will be here shortly. I am getting ready for a busy day!

Yeah, we planted them about 28 years ago, and now we use tractors to shake the trees and gather, sort and clean the pecans. It's turned into a real farming endeavor.
