Christmas Countdown - 2010

Well I just got back from doing some work this morning. I had to drag myself out of bed to go do it but I knew I had to get it done. This afternoon I need to run to the store and look for the handrails to put up in the bathroom before moms surgery. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good day, everyone!

What a beautiful day here in Ottawa! It's not even noon and the temperature is already +3C!! The sun is shining with very little wind, too. Nothing but a perfect second day of March! The sun is supposed to stay with us all the until next Monday. Temperatures should reach about 7C this weekend, too. Here's hoping for an early snow melting! If this keeps up, we could be practicing outside in a mere week, which would be more than a month ahead of schedule!

Well, I hope everyone is doing all right. All the best to your neighbour, Made. Some sad news my way... A student from my high school was killed on Saturday night by a drunk driver. He was walking on the side of the road at 3 AM with his girlfriend and the driver struck him. There was no sidewalk. The senior student had just scored two goals in his playoff hockey game the night prior and then the OT winner in the same game. His life was too short. My thoughts are definitely with my old school, his family and his teammates.

Also, my mom's husband's mother had a stroke on Sunday morning. She has alzheimers - and has had it for about four years - but was in good physical condition otherwise. She's a very sweet lady, but I don't think she will be pulling out this one as she cannot eat and has lost all control over the right side of her body. It's very unfortunate, but she lived a good life. My thoughts are definitely with my mom and her husband on this one even though I feel even more terrible for the 19-year-old who died way too young.

It has turned into a lovely day here too. +2c and sunny. I have the windows in the house open and my kids complaining about it being cold in here. The place sures smells nice and fresh again!

Well I got my copy of Stalking Santa today (1cent dvd) looking forward to watching it, now is the time to buy Christmas music and dvd's they are so cheap right now so I have a few more lined up for the near future. Registered my oldest for Kindergarten today he is so excited for next fall. Finally it is a warm day, March has come in like a lamb so far, but snow is being talked about for tomorrow.

My dear 91 year old Aunt Mary passed away from Alzheimer's this past Monday after 6 long years in a nursing home and 2 years with in home care. What a sad and long journey. Prayers to all affected by this terrible disease.

So sorry to hear. My great aunt passed away from this disease. Her husband cared for her 24/7 for years until her passing. He then passed away a few months after she died. I will say a prayer for your family.

Well my sisiter just called and said that she was dropping the kids off so her and her husband can go do some shopping. I like how she didn't even ask but just told me that I was going to babysit. I told her they better be back before the race starts. Not much else on the agenda for today. I need to so some cleaning but I will probally put that off until tomorrow now. Well friends, it's been a long hard day! Coffee in the cup is nice and warm and the music is good.....ah! It's nice!

Well, my beloved baseball team staring playing ball yesterday and for the first time in ten years, I wasn't the coach. It's odd to say the least. Even upsetting almost. However, I will try to be thankful for the 10 years I had and the success and triumphs that took place during my time. I had more good than bad and that is a blessing.

But yall, I sure do miss my boys! Sigh...........
