As many of you know, I have been blessed with a special needs son. It is difficult to get him out and involved in things, so I was very happy when he decided to join the YMCA. He now goes several time a week to work out in the exercise room and enjoy the steam room.

Today when he went he was robbed. He locked his things in a locker but someone broke the lock, took his pants and put them in another locker after emptying his wallet of cash and a 1984 Stratford silver dollar.(the $ is of no value, it was just something he like to carry with him and show off to people) The cash was only $16 but it was for his meds and a bit of spending money for the week.

Pretty sad when someone feels the need to steal from a special needs person who already has a very small income.
I hope this will not stop him from going again. Often something that scares him or stresses him out makes him never go back to that place again.

Christmasstar, that is so awful. How heartbreaking.. I hope it doesn't deter him from going back.

Hey Jay Dude... don't be so Mickey Mouse.. check in...

YABBA!

I'm here, I'm here!!! Mickey sends his regards! The Mrs. and I can't seem to get away from that joint without a shopping bag full of new Christmas ornaments...And the streak continues! It was great fun, a nice break and a welcome vacation...I signed on to find I was 3350 posts behind in my reading...I'm afraid I may just have to start fresh from here and hope that no one directed a question my way...3350 posts would take me three days to read...I MUST be better at signing in at least daily...Oh well...Glad to see the countdown is lower and the holiday closer than when I was here last! And VERY glad to see all of you!

I feel for you big time regarding allergies! I have had them bad all my life. I work at a feed store around lots of things I am allergic to and it seems to get worse the longer I work there. I have been there 7 years. We have a pet shop and I am allergic to the cute little bunnies and guinea pigs. We also sell birds and if we get in too many, the feathers bother me. A few birds are fine, just can't be in a closed area too long with a lot of them. I absolutely love my job and just deal with it.

I have outdoor allergies too and have solved that problem that you might give a try. We sell local honey at our feed store and I take 1-2 teaspoons of it a day and I can finally enjoy spring weather! Spring was my worst time a year and I have been on honey for 2 years and now survive spring. I usually add the honey to food, oatmeal, etc. If not, just take it straight. Try to find a local honey in your area and get some. The store bought stuff will not work, it must be local. It's tasty and really works! It can take up to a week or 2 before you get the full effects. I just wished the honey helped on animal allergies!

I've never known that honey would help outdoor allergies. As luck would have it, we have an apiary just a mile from my house. I'll give that a shot!

Note that Hwy 441 across the GSM parkway will be busier than usual since 129 is also closed with a rock slide. Have fun...

We have both the 64 & 129 detours coming through our town now! Have fun at Dollywood & in PF. I've missed shopping in Sevierville this past year. Hopefully DH's company picnic will be at Dollywood again this year. We live two hours away.

That's horrible. I don't understand people like that.

That's great you have access to it. The local honey contains pollens from your area that will build up immunities to them. I am assuming it's the same in all areas but there is a difference between fall honey and spring honey. They both contain different pollens. Here the spring honey is light colored and fall is dark. You have to switch to the appropriate one for the season. I am sure the place you get it from will have more info on that and how it helps. Let me know when you get some. cheesy

That is terrible. I hope he can get past it and continue to go.

It's a busy week for me. We have another outdoor practice tomorrow - weather cooperating - and then I should spend much of the day in the library working on another essay. We have a tournament in the small town of Poolesville, Maryland this weekend, too. It will be the third year in a row we attend the tournament. Hopefully the weather holds up though. As long as the sun shines for the next two days, everything should be OK!

Poolesville Maryland isnt too far away from me..about an hour or so.. Im about 20 minutes outside of Baltimore.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!

I think we found our DREAM HOME last night... I am praying and praying that we get this house!!!!!! The price is right, the neighborhood is charming, the house is adorable, the schools are great, the commute is short for my hubby.. I just pray they accept our offer! We're going in full-price and not messing around!!! Gosh, I would just be over the moon to get this charming house!!
.

Best of luck with your dream house =0)..keep us updated!

Im very sorry to hear what happened to your son. I hope he keeps his spirits high.

Good afternoon my Christmas friends. Its a nice day here in sunny Maryland..in the low 60's. This is my last week of working full time. I will start having off on Wednesdays. Im very excited I get to spend an extra day with my wonderful kids cheesy. Have a great day everyone!

That's wonderful, MsChristmas!!! What a nice balance for you. I bet you will love having a weekday to go do fun things with your kiddos. I love being home with my guy.. wouldn't trade it for the world!

cheesy Yes Judesmama Im very excited. I wish I could only work 2 days a week haha but we cant afford it at this time. I suppose 1 extra day off is better then none!

Oh wow, that is quite close. I do believe we're staying in Rockville, which could be even closer! Poolesville is nice. We're just hoping there has not been too much rain that the fields cannot be played on this weekend.

Good afternoon, everyone!

We had an outdoor practice this morning and it was cold! Well, cold and windy! About -5C with the windchill. It was nice to be outside on a beautiful field, however. The university is being very generous right now and allowing us to play on the Varisty Turf Field, which normally costs about $150 per hour. They know we're not funded at all by the school yet work real hard, so I guess they're giving us a few breaks here and there. Hooray!

The rest of the day has been sunny but windy. No complaints for March, however. The weather can only get better. I was suppose to be off today but a few things forced me into work rather than work on a final essay. Hopefully I can get some of that done tomorrow and Friday before we head away. We'll see! It must get done!!

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their day. The weekend is not too far away!!

Hi there, we had rain Saturday, and Monday..a little bit yesterday and they are calling for showers tomorrow night into Friday but the weekend looks clear. I hope the fields are not too wet/muddy! Goodluck!
